Such a special scent. A true masterpiece that is standing the test of time. Even if the newest version is not quite as nice as the previous ones, it is still amazing.

I inhale deeply whenever I wear this scent. The beginning is marked by an explosion of citruses, herbs and spices! The fragrance of the leather is clean and feels expensive. A very classy animalic scent. The smell of clean sheet with the subtle musk of two people's bodies.
*Some people find the animalic notes skanky so this is a sample first frag.

I don't know if it is my chemistry but this perfume on my skin falls flat. The sweetness is a little sickly and I didn't get the brightness I expected from the fruits. The tobacco is there somewhere underneath the sugar but quite faint. The rose is ok but it is not a blooming rose. In a similar genre but to me a more successful execution is Isparta from Pierre Guillaume. It is with patchouli and a little oud instead of tobacco but it also has fruits that brighten the fragrance and the rose is bold. As it seems to be loved by many, it must come out better on others but on me it's a pass. I even got a headache and I am a fan of bold fragrances. I am glad that my sampling can be useful to other people; it was my second time testing it.

This fragrance starts with a very pleasant yet extremely brief fresh green blast. One minute or two later, it started to become progressively soapier and soapier. Nice soap mind you. A huge bar of french honeysuckle milled soap. It has faint lemon undertones. Projection is at half an arm but could increase to an arm with lavish application.

A blast of baby powder, one minute later, full on skanky musk à la Lutens MKK. An undercurrent of powder is remaining, amber and benzoin assert themselves. It is slightly sweet but not overly so. Sillage is gentle but I am sure it would be greater if sprayed. It definitely has a vintage vibe. It reminds me of Bal à Versaille. Worth a sniff if you are a fan.

A very pleasant and introspective fragrance. The smell of the aromatics can be confused with oregano in the first few minutes then it is clearly elemi and the mix of spices. (cumin, coriander, cardamom)
This is a beautiful scent albeit a little light. It is perfect for lovers of resinous and aromatic woody scents. It smells like high quality resins, not like smoke. (slightly churchy)
It needs to be applied liberally for full effect! It is quite affordable on the gray market so why not! Projection is about an arm's length for the first three hours and skin scent afterwards so the longevity is not fantastic.
