At the café on Palermo
Strolling through the alleys of the Sicilian capital, I enjoy my coffee. Looking out over the Porto di Palermo on a balmy summer evening. The scent of blooming citrus trees, between alleys of picturesque leather crafts, I settle in front of the Teatro Massimo and watch the people. Under palm trees, woods warmed by the sun's rays paired with the flying spice of cardamom, a hint of coriander joins in, caressing noses like a soft leather couch supporting Italian bergamot helping the orange-lime tandem to lift through the streets of Ballarò market. Some cedar and patchouli add character to the Byzantine mosaics. As I put on my sunglasses, one last citrus rush before drifting on the Mediterranean towards the sunset. A summer masterpiece.

Shoe factory from the 19th century
I've been toying with the idea of giving a fragrance from Jeremy a chance, but I'll be honest with you - his prices scare me off! I don't mind expensive niche fragrances, some of them certainly justified their price, but over 300 Euros is a bit of pride - Fragrance One is certainly not at the top of the list if I would buy a fragrance for that money.

Be that as it may, the scent on paper is not at all bad to read. But now that the scent has been etched into my wrist for almost half the day, I'll take the liberty of making a first judgement. Can a shoe factory for leather shoes smell good? Everyone can judge that for themselves. Durability and sillage are adventurously strong, but otherwise "Black Tie" reminds me of something old, leathery, a bit musty. Scenes from the 19th century in London take place in my head after I enter a shoe factory in summer with my top hat and the craftsman is just peeling his mandarin orange for lunch.

Is he being formal? No. Pushy loud? Possibly. Unique? Certainly not. Meeting a person with a suit and that scent reminds me more of old clothes collection than Hugo Boss designer. Too much wood in the heart and too much patchouli in the base for me, which overshadows the citrus freshness of the top note too much. Overall too unbalanced. Then don't use Jeremy fragrance.

When angels wear perfumes...
I wander through the streets of Tokyo, thoughts buzzing in my head, unique Japan. If I want to explore the landscape, I take the train to Mt. Fuji. Nature rushes past me. It's spring, cherry blossom time and the Hanami festival. Japanese gardens are famous for their fragrant, delicate flowers. Apart from cherries, other stone fruits such as apricots, plums and peaches are also included, whose trees blossom during this time.

The first flowers are those of Prunus mume, the so-called Japanese plum or apricot. An independent species native to Japan. Since its flowers appear on bare branches as early as January or February, they are considered a symbol of the will to survive and promise good luck.

I'm dreaming, sitting alone in my train compartment - what do Japanese plum trees smell like? No one here. I get off in the city of Atami in Shizuoka Prefecture and breathe fresh air. I grab a bike and take a little ride around the city. The smell of spices in the air, maybe saffron? Light sweetness. Delicious... Vanilla and cinnamon. I drive past happy people in bars. Alcohol is in the air. In the distance I can already see them, plum trees and flowers. I get off my bike, I find myself in the plum garden of Atami. Beautiful. Bright pink, white trees, natural spectacle, waterfall, small streams, narrow bridges - the sun is shining and a light wind is blowing. I dream along the path. Plum liquor. I wonder what this smells like when it's dried I remember. A perfume in my backpack, I take it out, standing on the bridge surrounded by plum trees. A spray, sensuality. Perfection. Tom Ford Plum Japonais. I knew it, a fragrance worn by angels. Ume flowers and Ume fruits have always been omnipresent in daily life, but also in Japanese art and poetry. The fragrance combines fruity plum with a dash of liqueur, unobtrusive sweetness accompanied by adult spiciness. Minute by minute the sillage slips into a dreamlike mix that cannot be described with words. I continue walking along the narrow paths, catching a breath of this fragrance again and again and am forced to close my eyes and enjoy it. I think I am in paradise. I never want to leave here again.

"Plum Japonais" reveals the extraordinary beauty of the Ume plum by combining it with an unconventional blend of exotic Asian ingredients. The fragrance is rich and luxurious and of an irresistible complexity.

I go back, get on my bike and dream towards the sunset. In my nose still the smell of plum blossoms. He'll probably stay there for a long time - that's the way angels must smell.

A touch of summer
So far, I have never really warmed to the "taste" of Aaron. Onyx is too animalistic, Boss Bastard too smelly, Ozone feels too heavy and and more like a skin cream that kills you. Amber Extreme is not my cup of tea either. Neon smells like chlorine cleaner
For 2020, he has also rebranded several fragrances, including Blood Orange.

Sounds great, doesn't it? So Blood Orange was my last hopeless attempt to find a fragrance of my wishes from his ranks and I have to say that for me it is the "best" and most bearable fragrance. It opens really super fruity fresh with orange and tangerine, the jasmine note underlines the top note nicely. But what really bothers me is the shelf life. Maybe it's the atomizer, because I have to go on millimeter distance to get anything on my skin, instead of just spraying an overpriced room fragrance around. That was better with his 50ml bottles, but also not outstanding. But what he screwed on his 10ml decanters is a bottomless cheek.

In this respect, the fragrance rounds off relatively quickly in a little musky sandalwood before disappearing completely. On me this fragrance is a famous so called "head note blending", even if my skin chemistry is not at all receptive to fresh scents, because all summer fresh citrus scents disappear after a few hours. This one, however, runs away from me as if I had stolen the blood oranges from the tree.

The only thing you can say about the fragrance is that it smells really natural and not synthetic at all. It is too expensive anyway.

Splendid Citrus Oud
M7 Oud Absolu has been on my wish list for a long time. A few weeks ago I was able to exchange the fragrance here on Parfumo. Lately I've been searching the whole range of spicy fresh scents, which might be noticeable on me for more than 3 hours. With regard to the coming autumn and winter months I was therefore very excited. First of all: I was not disappointed!

At times, I couldn't really do anything with oud, and I couldn't imagine what it meant. M7 Oud Absolu opens with an omnipresent and distinct citrus bomb of orange and tangerine, which is sure to mix in a heavy oud and patchouli note. Head and heart don't disappear with a running drydown, instead a touch of vetiver and myrrh swings underneath, which is rounded off by creamy musk.

I think that this fragrance is perfectly suited for mature men over 25 years of age to stand out from the crowd. Of course it has been around for a few years, but I rarely or never smell it. Durability and silage are absolutely ok for an EDT. For me this scent was the entry into other oud scents, also from Tom Ford and other brands. Recommendation to buy!
