Long lasting spice bomb
I have long thought about whether I should add my mustard here, because here many people have already added it extensively. Dear Salva then persuaded me to do it, even though my opinion is almost the same as his...there are coincidences... ;)

I came across the La Nuit de L'Homme EDP rather by chance, since at first you only hear about the EDT's better known brother and his praise. I thought to myself, why always go with the flow? Almost everyone has the EDT anyway, just buy the EDP, it won't be bad. So it was a total blind buy. It was supposed to be the best blind buy of my short perfume-buying career so far...

The prelude by the grapefruit-cardamom mixture hits like a bomb! So fresh, so spicy, so full of character. Without being really obtrusive in the Sillage, you notice it quite clearly in the surrounding area. After the prelude you would think that the spiciness would fade over the next few hours. The combination of the Muscat sage, which is known for its spicy scent, and the sandalwood with patchouli in the base note ensure that the characteristic scent of La Nuit de L'Homme EDP is more than present for many hours.
I always have the problem with fresh scents that I either become odour-blind or the scent vanishes quickly. With spicy-woody scents on the other hand, I always have to take 2 showers before I get rid of the scent.

Of course I was curious how the EDP compares to the EDT. So I went into turquoise D in front of Mrs. Corona and sprayed the EDT on myself and what can I say? I was disappointed! The EDT may be a bit sweeter and more playful and maybe more geared towards younger customers, but compared to the EDP it's a difference like day and night. The EDP has more punch, more character, is more masculine and looks more mature. The EDP looks like the adult brother in the master's degree compared to the EDT, which makes us look like an immature high school graduate who can't decide on a course of study.

For those who value fresh, spicy woody scents, with good silage and very good shelf life, I can recommend La Nuit de L'Homme EDP with a clear conscience. It is absolutely suitable for autumn and winter, and penetrates even the greatest cold. I had put the fragrance on once for dinner, outside it was -5 degrees and an icy wind. Many fragrances have problems to show to advantage in this weather. The EDP on the other hand was still clearly perceptible and was still hanging on my clothes the next day.

With 7.4, this one comes in clearly under value, if I compare it with other 8.0+ fragrances here. Clear recommendation on my part!

A bright star in gourmet heaven!
Where do I even start to tell? Actually L'Homme Idéal not even planned in my collection at first. First I wanted to try Spicebomb Extreme, which is supposed to be so good...or one of the Dior Homme series? Hmmm. So you watch some YouTube videos, because you want to get a first impression from experienced snoopers. But what do my little eyes see over and over again on the front places of presented rankings? Correct: L'Homme Idéal from Guerlain.

Hmmm, take a look at this one, it's not supposed to be that expensive. But I'm still a beginner when it comes to perfumery. Sweet gourmand? I don't know what I'm thinking about when I see it. I have no idea.
According to a clever search engine, a "gourmand" is a person who likes to eat a lot. That fits me perfectly, I thought and suddenly he was on my table at home and that for very little money

You can already guess by my evaluation where the journey is going to be...
I have mostly well-known designers standing at home and nobody smells like this! So sweet and playful and as delicious as a delicious dessert after a good meal, thanks to the Tonka bean! It's true that you can associate the fragrance with cherries, but it's amazing that this blend of top notes leads to such an impression. I'm really not an ace at smelling individual notes, but I've rarely smelled such a wonderful mixture of different scents

For me this fragrance is an absolute insider tip and especially in the transition period it is really pleasant to smell. It has a good shelf life and silage and the bottle also looks extremely high-quality.
L'Homme Idéal was definitely not a bad buy and gets an absolute buy recommendation from me!

C'est la vie
I am sad because I had a match with wrong pictures, at least in my head.
Thanks to the nice user DanielB, who sent me a sample. I've smelled Dior Homme Intense in perfumeries before and was never quite sure what to think of it, so before I get a possible bad buy because of all the good reviews, it should at least be a bottling first.

Granted, I'm a little dazzled by the reviews here and the hype, I've watched so many videos about the fragrance that I can recite the scores by heart. But that doesn't help at all, because in the end an impression always remains subjective. I thought about what the scent reminds me of for a long time, then read reviews and saw "Lipstick". This is it! Lipstick! Ahhhh... Don't get me wrong, I don't think the scent is bad at all, just not as good as many of the reviews here. It doesn't suit my character, I don't see myself in any role that can give this scent the necessary cover, the necessary character. I feel as if the fragrance is lying on top of me, but not embodying me. It's like going mad. But I don't see it so badly either, as if I were looking at the embodiment of an old lady with a face covered in make-up from the 70s. He just doesn't touch me

The bottle is pretty and also the durability and sillage is brutal. Here I can tell you a short anecdote. I sprayed the fragrance in the morning, sparse but enough. In my hourly growing scent blindness I thought it would be a good idea to spray 2 more before dinner. Bad idea, very bad idea. With a stare without words I was eyed after I sat down at the dining table. After a short uncomfortable silence I realized that my scent was rolling over my fellow men and was about to roll over them without mercy. My Bad.

However, it seems that the fragrance satisfies a large mass of noses and that is what counts. Unfortunately I can't go with the flow, I have to go in the opposite direction. I would love to love him, but I can't. Pity.

Double-edged sword
With my last order, I had a sample of "This is Love!" deliberately wrapped up, because it made a good first impression on me in the perfumery and I wanted to have it confirmed, because it is definitely cheap. Admittedly, I have almost no experience with fragrances from Zadig & Voltaire, so I'm going to evaluate the fragrance very virgin.

My personal wish is an inexpensive, fresh and masculine fragrance for everyday life. This fragrance here does that for about half of its shelf life, which is why "This is Love!" is a double-edged sword for me.

I think the start is terrific, because the mixture of bergamot and orange blossom makes the fragrance really wonderfully fresh, fruity and a bit tart. The first 2 hours I can't keep my nose away from this scent! Wearing this perfume I feel adult, masculine, mature, in the middle of life. As a self-confident man, especially with a suit, who knows what he wants. He looks attractive and sexy, not too sweet and not too bitter. I'm honest, if this scent would stay like this, I would have gotten the bottle right away.

Regarding sillage and durability I cannot agree with the current rating of about 7. For testing purposes I had spread 4 scents on my arms (Yes I know, sounds crazy, but you know this one...). On the back of my left hand I had the Eau de Toilette by Issey Miyake "L'eau D'Issey Pour Homme", on my right hand "This is Love!", on my right forearm I had the EDP "Sauvage" by Dior and currently I was wearing "Spicebomb" by Viktor&Rolf. So I had a really good comparison between the different scents all day long. To my absolute surprise "This is Love!" apparently projects a gigantic sillage on my skin, which is still clearly perceptible after several hours. Again and again I caught myself thinking about what produces this incredible wood note that overshadows all the other scents.

This is then the second side of the sword, as the fragrance, after a grandiose opening with hourly growth, turns into a mixture of musty-orange horticultural market full of wooden planks. I have read several times that many people find this scent "stinky" after a while and I can guess why. I don't think it stinks, but if you, like me, are excited about the start and have got used to it with your nose, you will be almost disgusted by the course of the drydown, because nothing is fresh anymore. The sandalwood displaces the bergamot and encloses the orange and stands in front of it like a bodyguard, I can't describe it any other way. I think that's a real pity, because the fragrance has enormous potential. Maybe another fragrance from Zadig & Voltaire can get me around the bend. This one is "always trying" but in the end not my cup of tea ;)

A sensual rose garden
With my last orders I happened to have a small sample of Acqua di Gioia with me, actually declared as a women's perfume, but I was curious. A man uses women's perfume? Yes, that's right. "Giovanni Trapattoni in his prime would say. I'm just curious, and beginners try lots of scents. I have nothing to do anyway because of the current health situation in Germany

I wore the fragrance mainly in the evenings at home. But how do I describe the scent now? Do men have different noses? Anyway...the scent opens with a wonderful freshness. You can clearly smell the lemon and the pear. But within the first hour you realize more and more where you are, namely with your nose in a bouquet of roses. Nowadays you can also recognize more and more often a rose in men's perfumes. For many, this is probably hate or love, and I am also sure that roses do not suit all men. I personally wouldn't leave the house with it, because just because I try the fragrance, it doesn't make it more masculine.

In the further course of time, the scent remains linear with the above mentioned peony and very distinct. With a little sensitivity one can guess the cedar wood note, the brown sugar makes the rose a bit sweeter but without being obtrusive. The shelf life is not more than average for an eau de toilette, even if the scent can be sniffed on clothes for a long time

Would I want to smell the perfume on a lady? Yes, by all means! Who wouldn't want to snuggle up to fragrant flowers as a man, especially in spring and summer?! It's nothing spectacular what Armani has thrown on the market, but it's solid, fresh and flowery and definitely wearable from a feminine side.
