A Evocative Old World Barbershop Scent
For a fragrance that came out in 1912 it does evoke from the smell a sombre mood like a rainy day in Downton Abbey or something Mr Darcy would wear from Pride & Prejudice.

The bottle is quite beautiful and ornamental with it's black and silver motif. The smell is fresh and soapy with lots of moss and musk. Out of this you can smell hints of blackcurrant, cumin, spices and light florals. The quality is very nice with vivid notes that smell Soapy smoky and ethereal. Everything is blended and balanced so that no one note overwhelms the other out of the oakmoss musk.

Eventually the scent becomes cleaner with the musk becoming more prominent and the sandalwood showing up here and there. The fragrance is easy and very lovely to wear. Compared to the Edt the scent lasts over eight hours on my skin though it does stay close to you within half a arms length. It also smells more smooth and refined with some of the notes been more balanced. The cumin note has been dialled way back for example.

All in all a very classy scent with a dark sombre mood suited for the gentlemen.

When Sandalwood Fragrances Were Great
I managed to get hold of a full bottle of this long discontinued treasure from 1983 and the sandalwood in this is amazing.

The scent is dominated by Ylang Ylang and creamy buttery mysore sandalwood goodness. On first application the fragrance is very fresh and floral with a buttery sandalwood note underneath. As the hours pass the mysore santal accord becomes more dominate though you can still pick up the Ylang Ylang for the duration.

I have to say this is the most beautiful natural smelling sandalwood I have smelled in a fragrance. It is creamy, buttery, rich with depth but also mellow in a meditative way. I have tried loads of Sandalwood scents from Tam Dao to Santal Noble and they all pale in comparison to the glorious sandalwood found in this.

I got several hours longevity with this scent and the projection was about average though I could still smell the lovely santal woodiness on my clothes long after.

A treasure that has been discontinued long ago due to the scarcity and expense of Mysore Sandalwood. If you ever find this on ebay going cheaply then grab it as it is a gem in the world of fragrances!

Old Time Sophistication
Now imagine Sherlock Holmes smoking his pipe by a open fire or Humphery Bogert in his dressing gown holding a conqac standing by a piano. This scent is a classic warm and very sensual fragrance that has that old time sophistication about it.

To me it smells like a sweet Jasmine type fragrance that has been darkened with tobacco and ginger to make it more masculine type scent. It also has a combination to my nose of sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver , subtly blended with lighter , fresh aroma of Green Tea mandarin and lemon all woven together in a bouquet of sweet/tobacco scent reminisce of the 1950's. Or to put it simply a sweet tobacco scent. Lol

Now I like this as it evokes the 1950's or what Sherlock Holmes would wear and it is nice but not a scent you would say wow or I have to have this. I like this as I appreciate classic scents and I like my Creed scents.

Very Nice Indeed!
On the opening you get a very soft and smooth cream like orange citrus note. After a while a airy jasmine note appears and seems to dominate the heart of the fragrance.

In the dry-down the unsweet cream like vanilla takes over with hints of patchouli, woods, musk and a watery note. All in all this fragrance lasts five hours with average projection.

This scent is very nice indeed and the notes are woven very subtlety within the soft and smooth olfactory tapestry.

The drydown is especially good as it seems to morph on your skin. One moment when you sniff yourself up close you smell the orange and musk, other times the jasmine and slight woods.

A worthy fragrance which I would classify as a citrus floral oriental making it perfect to wear anytime and anywhere.

Sunshine In A Bottle
Imagine if you will that you are sailing in the south of France on a big white yacht on a hot sunny breezy day. You are drinking champagne and eating slices of watermelon while breathing in the fresh crisp morning ocean breeze. This is what I imagine while smelling this gorgeous scent.

To my nose the fragrance smells like a luscious watermelon coupled with the scent of the ocean. It also has a golden creamy opulence about it like they have captured sunshine in a bottle. It is warm and light and has this alluring familiar sexy undertone to it which for a while I just could not put my finger on. Then after spending a good amount of time wearing it from my sample, bingo I got it.

You know that opening gorgeous Iris note from Green Irish Tweed that everyone loves. Its in this as well but the scent has been blended with green mandarin to give this fragrance its signature watermelon smell.

I have to say on a personal note I think this scent is incredible, its clean and fresh and perfect for a hot summers day. I have a big 120ml bottle of this so I can bathe in it. One important thing to point out is this has to be worn fully and smells better when the scent takes to the air and surrounds you, than just smelling it up close on your wrist.

Another thumbs up to Creed on a excellent Scent.
