Aventus? No.
Not quite. Let's put this into perspective. It's the nephew.
After my quite sensational comment to Aventus now one to a supposed clone. Of course I also had to buy a sample here (thanks Kitho!)- the Explorer is on everyone's lips at the moment.
I was analytical this time. Open the vaporizer. Hmm, I don't smell anything - so I had to use the kitchen roll. Paper sprayed. Uh joa he's male. Something fresh Annanassiges comes towards me and a lot of spicy/ peppery. Good, good, good. Rehearsal put aside and first made sport. I must say that I have three scents on different. I sprayed some cloths and they were all in my kitchen. While I was doing my training a small gust of wind came towards me again and again and it smelled a lot like Explorer. The other two scents didn't reach my nose at all (were Atkinson's samples). There was already a certain polarizing effect clear to me. It dominates the room or has a proper sillage. Well - showered and then I just tried it out. Sprayed - 4 whole sprays and off to the dentist. In the car, I permanently smelled myself. It wasn't unpleasant. I had a mental battle with the pineapple (I still don't like it) in combination with the male dominant undertone that comes strongly from the ambroxan (vetiver, pepper, patchouli and akigalawood). I don't notice anything about the leather.
Neija off to the ZA. The dental nurse was taken with my perfume. I have never experienced this before, but also an interesting experience....
i'm going home. Odour absorption: still smells like in the beginning ;).
Update: 9 hours later and I can still smell myself. The durability is therefore already on an extreme level.
But when I arrived home I couldn't help but put the Aventus on my right arm and the Explorer on my left arm. Direct comparison:
Aventus: not sweet, rather fresh, help the pineapple is there and there comes musk. I still don't like him :(. Too old, too heavy...
Explorer: sweeter than Aventus, fresh pineapple, the Vetiver plays stronger here and the Ambroxan does its best. It is brighter and sweeter but in the head very similar to Aventus.
It becomes clearer in the drydown. Explorer remains sweeter, fresher and has no perceptible smoke/leather note for me. There is more synthetics involved here than with Aventus. When I then look at the PLV I don't have to say much more. I will soon use Explorer as my bottle.
Test yourself - if you don't like Aventus, you might like it here.

Cool Barbados bar checker - holiday scent par excellence
Let's begin the journey:
We are on Barbados on the beach, a wonderful bar between palm trees, the sound of the sea in the background as musical background. A great and varied fruit bowl in front of us at the bar and around us many lightly dressed ladies in bikini, as well as palms as far as the eye can see - check. This is the ultimate scenery for this fragrance.
First of all: the scent is unisex - on a lady certainly also very nice to sniff out.
The first spray and Peng there falls already the coconut on the nose, this becomes however in the process more discreetly and moves into the background. Very fresh - the eucalyptus is also present there. A beautiful fresh and slightly fruity top note due to the coconut. In the course of time, however, the ocean becomes stronger. The aquatic or ozone chord comes to the fore paired with something sweet, that must be the vetiver. Really nice. So this is what holiday feeling par excellence smells like. The Sillage is in the good midfield one smells it also from somewhat larger radius. The fragrance also radiates for a good 5-6 hours. The durability is quite 7 hours, which I see as upper midfield.
That's what vacation feels like. Now unpack your shorts, take out your short shirt and head south to the beach bar.

At first fresh towards the end sweet, spicy and unobtrusive accompaniment
Let's get started. Pffffff. Well, the top note is fresh. The mint dominates the first 15 minutes before slowly shooting its powder and unobtrusively entering the second row. The scent then becomes a little sweeter, the lime plays more like the first violin. A woody, spicy undertone now accompanies the lime. A nice bouquet. Not boring and the transformation at the drydown is also noteworthy. A great fragrance for spring/summer. The Sillage is mediocre. The scent won't attract much attention. It is unobtrusive and also very discreet. Not a rioter. The shelf life is average with 5-6 hours (after 3 hours it is only warmable close to the skin).

Spice cake with liquorice sweets served on tree slice
Holla, what a beautiful fragrance. The little Au Masculin reminds me again and again of Christmas and the cooler dark season - especially the autumn.
Spray on and the sensual journey begins. One is greeted by a beautiful star anise, paired with some liquorice and a light sweet one. Totally freaky. For me it totally fits into autumn - when the leaves have already fallen from the tree. After 30 minutes he gives up the sweetness a bit and gets woodier. The spices are preserved, the licorice-like scent now comes more and more to the fore. The shelf life is above average (approx. 7 hours). The Sillage is in good midfield. He doesn't seem pushy but definitely male, I think. I don't know a scent like that.

Sweet treat from the shower maker? Or is it Amor's messenger?
How I got to Layton.... yes it's been about 6 months and I hadn't been busy with fragrances yet, but I was just on my mission to explore the department stores and perfumeries. Names told me nothing - let alone what a niche scent is. I didn't have a pale haze o.k. Do you have to have that with mid-20s too?
It was summer and I was on vacation in Hamburg. During a shopping trip through the city I ended up in a well-known department store (the one with the blue lettering...). Arrived there I had actually planned to test the One Million. A very good friend of mine adored this scent and wore it herself. Neija, as a slightly crushed fool you have to look at this little water and try it out for yourself to see how it is received and whether it unfolds its effect ;). Short and sweet - the spark did not jump over in both respects ;). But I had an experience of a different kind. I was fascinated by the large antique pharmacy cupboard in the department store and the princely perfumes placed there in a niche, not immediately visible, but designed with style. Just as princely I found the pricing - it was, as I now know, all niche fragrances. The bottles of Parfums de Marly were almost all empty. But I first sniffed out Herod how an addicted junkie infused his drugs (on the bottle) and found this scent already very exciting.... the sellers were not interested in it anyway. Neija took courage and sprayed the only bottle on the shelf that wasn't empty, for lack of paper strips, directly on the skin (it was Layton). Ohhh wow - there came memories. It smells 1:1 like my favourite cola (the one from the much said shower manufacturer with the two bulls in the logo). I then fogged myself with the scent and wrote down the name. I must treat myself to that at some point I only thought.
Neija now to here and now. This fragrance has occupied me for a long time, I ordered the bottle only a few days ago for a good course. To be on the safe side, I would like to send you a rehearsal with Kitho from the souk, whom I would like to thank very much at this point. This came today - even before the bottle.
I don't know what to say. I opened the sample and gave myself 3 sprays after showering. What a delightfully opulent scent. It smells like Coke. Very sweet - in the drydown it gets a bit harder. He's been on me like a limpet for eight hours now. It's a shelf life and sillage monster. It smells fruity, sweetish and sticks very much at the beginning - the whole pair with a background of slightly woody notes after a few hours. It's a total chameleon this scent. After about 5 hours it changes again and the fruits are gone. It becomes totally soft and cuddly. This is my personal hit.
Today I somehow only had very sensual associations - if you think now about crossing Layton with Tom Ford's new Lost Cherry..... wow that could be a love story. Sensually bedded cola kisses sweet cherry. So if you're female and between 20 and 34, totally into Lost Cherry - then we should chat immediately ;).
In this sense - a great part and gets from me for the fragrance 10.0 points.
