Runes, deja vu and rock n' roll
Drakkar Noir, the black dragon boat, the supposed scent of the ravening Northmen and essence of the twilight of the gods "Ragnarök", locked up and tamed in a thick, black bottle with an insinuated runic script that lies in the hand like a millennia-old, smooth stone washed up by the cold Baltic Sea, is a completely harmless fragrance.

It is fresh, green but also somehow icy. Not a fragrance that would do justice to a Viking. However, I can understand the association with cold, misty forest landscapes.
I'm far too young to have experienced the hype surrounding the fragrance, but I came across the name when I first entered the world of perfume. I didn't test it for a long time, but always assumed it must be something very special, even controversial.
Well, I think it used to be special. I went crazy when I tested it, not because of the intensity or quality of the fragrance, but because it seemed so outrageously familiar.
I knew this fragrance, which was supposed to be unknown to me. And I knew it well. It was already present in my home when I was a child, omnipresent in sports changing rooms at school and occasionally in my shower at home. It smells the way deodorants and shower gels for men smell, or at least many of them do.
Or should I say they smell like Drakkar Noir? I'm not talking about the typical, newer "blue fragrances" like Bleu de Chanel etc. and the products that go in a similarly aquatic direction
I mean classic "For Men" products that are so inconspicuous and unagitated that the fragrance is no longer even noticeable.
Drakkar Noir is familiar to many people who have never heard of it.
Somehow strange, I have never experienced such strong deja- vus with any other fragrance.
The fragrance itself is actually great to wear again if you want to smell fresh and masculine but not like the sea. It is also not perceived as an "old man" fragrance, just as very masculine.
However, I imagine the fragrance 40 years ago as an absolute revelation. It was preceded only by heavy leather or dry fougere and chypre fragrances and then came the minty, lemony and ice-cold DK. I wonder what fragrance molecules are in there, maybe some kind of 80s aldehyde?
My scent association here is clearly glam rock and metal bands and other artists of the 80s and 90s. Artificial fog, guitars, leather and black record covers.
It's funny that on the one hand this fragrance is reminiscent of the most ordinary, normal and everyday shower and is simply associated with cleanliness and the original intentions are somehow recognizable in the shadows.
A solid, masculine fragrance that is not subordinate to the mainstream today, but has played a large part in its creation. Just like rock in the 80s.

"Southern German" Comfort
Mont Blanc Individual is one of those scents that trigger a feeling in me that I can't describe. The closest is probably a kind of "security" or "pleasant warmth" on cold autumn and winter days. I only wear it in the cold seasons and preferably with a black turtleneck sweater. Why? Because it does something right for me that few fragrances can: It still stays clean despite its sweetness (which never gets too much). I don't find it really fresh, but very clean. Like washing powder with a light raspberry-chocolate aftershave touch. Incredibly great. The H/S are also good and the price/performance ratio anyway. You also often smell unique, just Individuel. It goes down well and is smelled with pleasure. As for the preferred clothing style to the fragrance, I wear it with any other clothing, as long as the season is right. But because I also feel good in a turtleneck sweater and it is also comfortable, it fits doubly well. You don't do anything wrong with Individual, I've already received compliments. I also find the fragrance rather masculine, although not typical. The name of the perfume just fits perfectly. The bottle is pretty, clean, elegant and has a high WIedererkennungswert. The somewhat mechanical German style, similar to flacons from Hugo Boss. Professional even, but not too much, because Individuel builds a bridge. And to clarify my association, here is a description of the "perfect Individuel- feeling":

It's Monday morning, in the middle of November. It's a freezing morning. The sky is clear, you can see the stars. I step out of the shower and put on my black, comfortable turtleneck sweater. It hugs my torso like a shadow. Opening the wardrobe, the elegant bottle of Montblanc fragrance flashes at me. I don't skimp on application, but I don't overdo it either. The perfect amount. I grab my car keys and head out the front door. The top note of the fragrance in my nose, along with the freezing winter air. A delightful combination. I'm ready for the day, Individuel is my faithful companion, it won't let me down. In the car, I turn on the heater, slowly warming up the chilled car.As I drive, a brilliant scent spreads throughout the car with the warmth. What a luxury. I am pleasantly warm, not too much, not too little. It is perfect. Arrived, Individuel accompanies me as expected through the day. Clean, neat as the turtleneck and the appearance of the morning. But because of the scent, also a little different, unfamiliar, a little Individuel. I can confidently concentrate on my tasks, Individuel is always there. Maybe there's another compliment in it today, maybe even another one that special? Ah, here it comes. Warms the heart. Also playful facets the charmer in the bottle does not hide, he embeds them skillfully in the clean and professional. Another successful day , coming to an end. I go to bed. I look in the closet and see a pile of turtlenecks and not far away a silver bottle. I think tomorrow I'll do it again the same way, winter lasts a few more days after all.

"Somewhere in the desert...."

since I saw the ingenious commercial to Sauvage, which among other things finally animated me to buy (and I am otherwise resistant to commercials), I always think of the class gangster film "Last Man Standing" (1996) with Bruce Willis and Christopher Walken. Maybe it's just me, and at first I didn't know what it was, apart from the setting in the American desert. This mysterious, cool. Plus the mysterious protagonist who wanders the dusty environment without a destination and barely gives anything away. Last but not least, the greatest similarity between the commercial and the film: the soundtrack by Ry Cooder. It captures the atmosphere perfectly in both cases, Johnny Depp is accompanied by the squealing electric guitar, Bruce Willis by the dirty bass. The mission of both is not clear at first, they are alone and the viewer doesn't understand at first where the journey is taking them. Until Depp buries his jewelry and Willis shoots around. The night sky over the desert is gazed at and marveled at by both of them, while Johnny speaks of magic, giving the viewer another mystery, Bruce Willis speaks somberly and almost melancholically about penance.

Sure, the Sauvage commercial isn't as brutal and dirty as Last Man Standing, but to me, the two share a similar flair and they both draw me in. I've never enjoyed a commercial before, with Sauvage every time- even if I occasionally watch it twice in the evening. Whether it's because of cooder or even the visuals I don't know, I can't get the comparison out of my head.

But now to the fragrance, and I like it extremely well. I find him not perfect, but he fits perfectly to the advertising campaign. I feel him, contrary to many opinions, not as a shower gel or pure "blue fragrance". Yes, it is suitable for everyday use and fresh, but there is an inexplicably mysterious and "really" "wild" note. Probably the pepper. It would also suit John Smith (played by Bruce Willis) from Last Man Standing perfectly. He appears dapper despite the desert wind and all the blood and dust, but turns out to be a tough, rough and brutal guy who acts without compromise. A savage. In the film he says quite cynically: ".... i'm such a nice guy". That's what you think at the beginning of Sauvage. Nevertheless, there is sympathy for Willis in the film, as well as for the fragrance, which hides something wild and rough under the fresh bergamot that makes it suitable for the desert. And Johnny Depp is also not always just a "nice guy"
i think sauvage is very good for what it is and wants to be. Is it a perfect fragrance? No. Is it my favorite scent? Also never. Just like the movie is not my favorite but it is great in its genre. Because of the hype, I didn't try it for a long time. But I did... and I recommend Sauvage. Maybe it helps to watch the commercial again. And who has desire, at gelegenheit also Last man Standing, then some understand surely better, what I wrote.

John Smith:
"...It's funny how things work out. For a second you think you're going to come out of this thing with your skin intact. But in the end, you always pay your price. Without exception. Everybody pays their price.....even a sh**guy like me."

- in my case, it was €65 for a bottle of Sauvage.......

In the presence of the angels
The sky is cloudless. Rays of sunlight brighten the face, the fresh air rushes into the lungs. A pleasant wind grips the hair, also shakes the clothes and plays with the branches and spikes of the trees. Whether it is summer or winter does not matter. The experience is equally beautiful. Thoughts are clear, you know the destination. Focus and distraction seem to reign at the same time in a bizarre way, you can't escape. For a brief moment, the world stops.

That is Versace pour Homme for me more than just a fresh fragrance. It is for me one of THE fragrances par excellence. He creates a feeling that is incomparable. With its citrus and tart neroli, it creates a freshness that is neither ordinary nor boring. When I spray on the fragrance, I imagine a situation like the one written above. It always goes, in summer it refreshes and in winter you have an icy-clear feeling. I find it has an aura that is sometimes strong and sometimes weak, however, mysteriously everyone notices it. You can't escape that particular freshness, it's more than just a fresh smell. Somehow he has almost something supernatural for me , even if that sounds strange.
And yes, compliments are of course also in it and every time when wearing. But I wear it mostly for myself, I am on the second bottle and also the next two will not be the last. A fragrance that I wear at least once a week, and then usually for two days.

Hopefully it will never be discontinued, it is a masterpiece. Morillas is a wizard, no one can do fresh like him. Any age, any day, any situation and yet this fragrance is never boring. Although it is a Versace, there is not necessarily anything Italian about it in my opinion, well there is from the notes, however I find it to be universally perfect, casual yet a touch elegant. With the neroli and hyacinth it gets little rough edges, I suppose those notes also make it so special. The neroli is also a little rough around the edges, but always clean.

One of my favorite fragrances and I think at the price - performance ratio is even the possibility that he will eventually my signature fragrance.

"Dude, roll down the windows!"
Armani Code Profumo found its way to me by chance. It was last year in South Tyrol, in a small drugstore In the shop there were some fragrances, all mixed wildly together and some had nice dents in the packages, very cheap. In general there was everything you can imagine in this shop. In view of the approaching autumn I decided to buy Armani Code, the original. At least I thought so. I took the box off the shelf, paid and went back to the hotel. Only when I got home did I open the box to put the bottle in my closet, but then Code Profumo slipped into my hand.
At first I was a bit annoyed, but then I just sprayed it on my arm. I was slain by a sweetness that was worlds stronger than the original code, which also has a few fresh notes. After five minutes, however, I extremely liked the scent. It was simply "delicious", reminiscent of nuts and sweets.
As soon as it got really cold, in the middle of December, I wore it for the first time. It simply fits into the cold season, because it "warms" and smells "full" and "comfortably round".

But somehow I lost sight of him a little bit and wore rather ultra-paints in winter. But then came carnival or Fasnet, as it is called in the south. It was a bitterly cold evening, my mates and I were full of anticipation for the party that awaited us. Already in the afternoon, quickly under the shower, put on a costume, find out who's driving and then under time pressure the big question: Which scent do I wear now? And instead of going for Ultramale as usual, I just grabbed Code Profumo without thinking and probably sprayed without thinking. I forgot what a killer silage and durability the scent has. Already in the hallway my father greeted me with a strong "Uffff", but I just wanted to leave quickly. When I arrived at my buddy's house, we all got into the car and it started. After about 2 minutes he braked, turned around to me and said seriously: "Dude, roll down the windows". I was a little embarrassed because the whole car smelled like me. Oh no, probably even the traffic behind us could smell me, with closed windows. I was a bit embarrassed and panicked how it would be later in the marquee. Finally we arrived and stormed the tent. I made my way to the bar to finally get some drinks. Suddenly someone tapped on my shoulder, I turned around and asked: "Yes?". It was a girl, she actually asked me about my scent. I replied somewhat quietly: "Is it that bad, I exaggerated it a bit". She said: "No, it's so good." I was relieved and that very evening (which was literally "intoxicating") I received 5 compliments, no, rather curious questions about my perfume.
Why did I write this? Because I am firmly convinced that in the right situations more is sometimes simply better. In that sense, trust. Even if you have to roll down the windows

By the way, my costume still smells like Code Profumo, because you are rarely allowed to wash it. That party was five months ago.
