Getting my SA job at Sephora

If you are looking to get a job at Sephora or are interested in how I got mine, keep reading. The best time to get in (unless you have specialized training) is right before the holidays when they hire temporary employees. Before I was hired I knew nothing about skincare products or makeup for that matter, however I do know a lot about fragrances [compared to the majority of the population]. I played up my experiance in working with fragrances and tossed out my perfume knowledge by mentioning the FiFi's and several of thier awards during my group interview.

For my interview I dressed nice and wore modest makeup with my hair done well. I researched the company ahead of time and asked questions I thought of that might show I did my research.  Above all I alluded CONFIDENCE! They want you to be confident with approaching clients! My flexibility and willingness to learn impressed apon them I would be a good choice and they hired me. I have even watched some training videos while on my lunch break.

To keep the job I have not only worked HARD but worked smart. If there are a few small things that could be stocked, I instead choose to help a client or ask if they need help. I take initiave and do things without being told if I see they need to be done. Most of all I sample and grow to love the products and am able to confidently suggest them to clients. My knowledge of fragrances has come in super handy as well. I can suggest like fragrances that go beyond what our Scentsa computer system suggests and take special care to suggest things they may like.

The management is fruterating at times, but overall I like my job. I am paid very well and we get awesome gratis! We are encouraged to be upbeat and fun alluding confidence. I take care to ask the right questions so that I can find something that works best for the client.

That is how I got and kept my job with Sephora.
