Cardamom bomb
What a top note! Totally took me by surprise. I won a test in a newsletter raffle from Verbeene and did a blind tasting, so to speak, without reading anything to myself beforehand. Sprayed on my arm when the test sample and suddenly cardamom with resin and decent fruit explodes in my face. I am totally enthusiastic about this excess of spice, but at the same time I wonder if I want to smell like this, because it already has a certain eccentricity. But what soon follows is a clear weakening of the overall package, whereby the cardamom still remains in the foreground and the woodiness gains some space. I can't smell Chai here (for me a mixture of cloves, cinnamon and cardamom), but really very dominant only the one spice.
The papyrus note that is called can be guessed with a lot of imagination. For me rather a noble soapiness in the base with light resin. In any case, the "volume" decreases significantly. The final is very solid and quiet in contrast to the loud opening.

Conclusion:
Really gorgeous opening, which doesn't go bad later, but the scent doesn't keep up its magic for me. Scratches my palate easily when I smell it.

Shh! Quietly!
When I sprayed this scent from the test on my arm, I had no expectations at all. I hadn't read any reviews and didn't know anything about the background story, which is always the basis of the concept for the I.A. fragrances.
So I sprayed the scent, put my nose to my arm and had to stay the same for 2-3 minutes. So far no fragrance has managed to put such a specific image into my head. A musty, gloomy room with a shop in front of the windows, next to the door some boxes, otherwise shelves full of ancient books. You sit on a dusty chair and open one of the books and go close to the sides with your nose.
I'm honestly excited about what I.A. created here. I have often read fairy-tale comments about some dream trips people have experienced when they smelled perfumes, but every time I smelled them, it was more like "meeh", but well. But this time I can't help but have this vivid association before my eyes. Really crazy.
The more the fragrance dries, the more the dusty shelves, bookcases and musty carpets soft and what remains is a dark, greasy vanilla. But no vanilla with the water in your mouth but a (if you can say so) serious vanilla.
Whether the fragrance is now particularly wearable, everyone must agree with himself. Think about it on colder days. What is certain for me is that he is an experience that I will not soon forget.

A really beautiful forest scent
I smelled "Enchanted Forest" by Vagabond Prince and this fragrance in comparison today and had to say that although I liked the former much better in the long run, I had to admit that the picture of a forest was only taken at Cape Heartache. The sticky sweetness of the perfume is what spoils my pleasure in the long run (just as too much candy makes me sick after a while).
At the beginning you get a large portion of fir forest, herbs and resin, a light freshness. I really feel like I'm breathing in the essence of a fresh breeze blowing out of a coniferous forest. Above all this a fruity-sweet strawberry floats big and loud, which fades into the background after a short time and makes room for the forest.
Then the needle character remains dominant for quite a while until the strawberry returns after 2-3 hours, but this time not fresh, but rather like jam. And it'll stick forever... That's where it ends with me. After the promising start, the fragrance gets something annoying and after 4-5 hours I don't like to smell it anymore, because it gets too sweet, too much.
Cape Heartache is a fragrance for me that I would like to spray on paper once in a while so that I can enjoy the first half hour. What happens after that has no place on my skin. But because I like the beginning so much, I can't give it less than 6 points.

Scotland holiday in a bottle
When I sprayed this fragrance on this morning, I was completely upset. Suddenly I stood again in the warehouse of the distillery Edradour in Pitlochry, countless oak barrels in front of us and this breathtaking scent... it is often said that people associate the scent of a whisky warehouse with that of an apple orchard, which is probably why many people smell apples directly when they test Baraonda. This scent is 100% authentic whisky and I can't believe that now after 8 hours it still radiates exactly the same from my forearm.
So far I've been smelling scents that smell like brandies very accurately to get the association of schnapps at all, but Baraonda screams "Scotch Single Malt" in the face, which I personally find wonderful.
I'm definitely gonna buy this scent.

Spicy, medical, delicious!
I am punished with a nose that does not perceive smoking notes in perfumes as smoking notes. What I smell directly here is instead of a campfire note, a slightly medical rubber glove note. This may sound disgusting, but wait a minute! I am a great Scotch friend and I like peaty whiskies best. Laphroaig whiskies, for example, have a strong medicinal character combined with a soft, sweet vanilla note. I feel similar to By The Fireplace. I smell this intense hospital smell, but it marries spices, chewing gum and heavy vanilla (such a dusty, heavy vanilla as in "Memoirs of a Trespasser" by Imaginary Authors) to create a wonderful scene where you feel comfortable and I would like to stay. The smoke (or in my case the medical note) recedes bit by bit, leaving a soft, sweet, spicy aftertaste that lasts for hours. A true work of art.
