the progression of scents for me went like this:
1 - very strong acrid rose, the metallic acridity went away quickly however then came a very fresh, green rose.
2 - rose strongly infused with peach.
3 - a very lovely powdery rose finish. very beautiful at the end.
for me this scent did not have very good sillage or longevity - it was mostly gone in 3 hours.

the progression of notes for me was as follows.
smoky gravel at the start, gets more smoky as time passes, very faint floral underneath, floral comes up gradually, smoke still there all along, fading nicely into woodsiness.

Count me in amongst the haters of this classic and universally loved scent. All I get here is antisceptic soapiness. This review is for the current version, not the vintage which I haven't tried and could possibly be a stunner, but, alas I'll never know. Bleeech for me, worthy of a scrubdown...

The sweet floral (iris?) and patchouli notes of Calamity J. are detected first by my nose. Very lovely. Afterwards I get a slight plastic or leathery vibe, but not unpleasant, it goes very well together. Becomes very smooth and delicious near the ending, when vanilla and lavender comes out. I really like it.

Not overly long lasting or great sillage for me, unfortunately. I'm not sure it would be of good value, unlike Vengeance Extreme or Mad Madame.

Light, soft, vague woods, indistinct amber. Absolutely linear in development. It's there and then it isn't. Pleasant in a far-off ghostly way, and as unobtrusive as a glass of water.

The scent appeals to me somewhat, I think I would prefer it blended with something else to give some robustness and interest. For me, it's slightly reminiscent of the scent they pump through the MGM Grand casino in Las Vegas.

Not worth the money for me.
