Summer at the lake
When I was a child, we used to go to a small lake nearby every free day during the summer. While the parents were lying in the sun, we children had a lot of fun exploring the area on our own. (Yes, at that time children were allowed such a thing!)

There was a beaten path around the lake. The dark floor felt cool and smooth under the bare feet and was streaked with thick, gnarled tree roots.

There was much to discover and it was always an exciting adventure. Colorful beetles, little frogs and once even a grass snake crossed our path. The dense canopy provided cooling shade.

At one point a small stream ran across the path. It looked very flat, but when I put one foot in it, the ground gave way and I sank almost to my waist in slimy mud. That was a fright...

Vanilla & the Sea reminds me of this summer at the lake. It smells to me like earthy forest soil, woody like ancient trees, a little salty from sweating and sweet like creamy children's skin. And a little muddy like my involuntary moor pack.

Oh, it was beautiful! :-)

A very special treasure
Over the past year I have tested a lot of fragrances. Many I quickly forgot again, some were terrible and some I liked well. However it happens rather rarely that one finds a smell so really great.

With "Paisley" a very special treasure finally reached me again, which landed directly on my wish list.

He just suits me. He's fresh and cheerful, but also somehow fluffy and, what's special about him for me, despite his suppleness he has a little bit of something brittle and distant.

"Paisley" starts citrically fresh and slightly sweet. In the course of time it becomes more flowery and creamy. In the base it becomes then cuddly sweet. From beginning to end I perceive the pepper in the background, which prevents the fragrance from becoming too dear.

In my opinion, "Paisley" perfectly underlines the essence of a modern, self-confident woman who knows what she wants, who "stands her man" and who nevertheless fully stands by her femininity

Only shortcoming, something is always, it does not last so long with approx. 7 hours.

I think the bottle is a good fit. He's pretty and filigree, but not too kitschy.

I'm thrilled! :-)

Ambivalent scent impression ever!
At the beginning it smells very intensely of mandarins, almost like a concentrate. But this impression lasts only a few minutes, then an incredible full, warm, soft vanilla is added. So far, so nice...

And here it comes! At first I didn't even think about the scent... Suddenly I smell mould in my nose! After a short helplessness whether the cause I sniff at my wrist and actually!

If a perfume can get moldy, that's my next thought! So log in to Parfumo and see if others have noticed it too. In fact, between all the hymns of praise, there are a few quiet critical tones.

For a moment I think washing up and checking it off is the only solution, but something inside me does not want to separate. So I think I'll stay brave and give him a chance.

And what can I say, I haven't regretted it. The scent has something that keeps me hanging on my wrist. Yeah, it smells musty, but so what, I like it anyway! :-)

So how do I rate this fragrance now? Right at the beginning of my trip here, I came up with an evaluation system. So e.g. 10 means for me "I absolutely want to have", 8 "I would wear it if I got it as a present" and 5 "Something disturbs".

And "Dulcis in Fundo"? He's a 10 if he wasn't also a 5 somehow... I have no choice but to give him a 7.5. But I'm not satisfied with that.

I put him on my wish list anyway, which would actually be at least a 9, because he fascinates me and keeps me busy and is still there the next morning and fascinates me!

The name says it all
Oh, shit! Not so long ago, I fell in love with Dior Addict. However, in the version of 2014.

Out of curiosity I also wanted to test the original version from 2002, I thought that the two are probably similar. And that the one I have will be enough for me. Because I like it really good.

Well... And now I'm sitting here, 2002 left, 2014 right. And yes, they are alike. But no, the one is not enough for me! :-)

The 2014 begins fresh and so vital, is extroverted and loud. He's clearly yelling, "Hey, here I am!"

The 2002 is no less confident. But he is much more subtle, warm and sensual, somehow melancholic, gentle and infinitely deep. He's like a promise, like a sweet secret...

That's why I love the 2014 no less. But this one's a real hammer, too! Yeah, they're alike. But each one of us also has something so special of his own that I would absolutely like to have this one, too, oh what, *wants*!!!

The name says it all! Then as now! :-)

The water of Bordeaux
It is not so easy to describe this fragrance. Especially since, admittedly, I'm not entirely objective. My daughter has been living in Bordeaux for some time now and that's why it's of course a special and beautiful place for me to feel connected to.
Apart from that, Bordeaux is a beautiful city. That's why, of course, I wished I liked him. But the scent really surprised me!

The first impression: Yes, quite nice. Discreetly citric, somehow neutral, will certainly not get on anyone's nerves. I think of dry grass as if it hadn't rained for a few weeks in a hot summer. Slightly sweet, but not like sugar or even honey, rather sweet, I think of tonic water as a "sweet yardstick". He's not changing much.
Aaaaber: There's more to it!

Surprise 1: It lasts forever! For example, I've been wearing it for almost 13 hours today and still smell it clearly on my arm!
Surprise 2: He's *yet* special and you recognize him! The second time you wear it, it feels so familiar. He memorized himself secretly. I don't know any scent to confuse it with!

Conclusion: He sneaked secretly into my heart and during my next stay in Bordeaux I get a bigger bottle!
