I knew regular Organza from its first edition, as I remember my mother received it as a birthday gift, and I kept using it sneakily until she let me have the bottle. Being a youngster I quickly moved on to other things, and somehow my paths never crossed with Organzas for many years to come. I missed the Indecence altogether. Ever since I started collecting vintage perfumes over a decade ago, I was aware of its existence, but again it never came into my radar. Meanwhile prices have become " indecent" and the perfume harder and harder to find. Last year I discovered Frederic Malle's Dries van Noten, and it was an epiphany- that anything produced after the year 2000 mark can actually sweep me off my feet. The perfect composition of light sunny spices and woods. I wore it all summer, disregarding all the others. Smelt familiar to another favourite of mine, the vintage Dior Dolce Vita, so I thought this must have been the ancestor. Little did I know that there has been another close relative , until last week when I actually managed to win a partially used bottle of Organza Indecence, and I never win on eBay, usually just "buy it now". I can't believe my luck , now that I have the three reunited, I can say that Dolce Vita seems to be the most cinnamon-y of them, Dries van Noten most delectably woody with my beloved guaiac wood note, and Organza most vanilic but In such an uplifting and not cloying way. There is still one more gem on my to get list, which is related to this family which is Shiseido's Feminite du Bois, and I can't wait to actually have it in my hands and see where it fits in.
