More of a purring lap cat than a prowling lion
I love tuberose perfumes and this gets a nod and a FB in my wardrobe. Carnal Flower is seductive and sweet, Fracas is loud and proud, Animale comes across as cozy (Immortelle does that to me), warm (sweet tobacco, not cigarettes) and of course with a sexiness that tuberose always brings to mind for me. The wood notes come in much later in the drydown, by the way this packs an oomph with a couple of sprays, nowhere as powerful as Amouage but definitely mighty nonetheless. It lasted from 6am till 9pm for me with no touch ups. I don't find it animalistic (if that was what they were aiming for by its name) but it is as comforting as my cat nuzzling me after a hard day.

cozy leather
This smells like something that definitely came out of L'Artisan, or perhaps Diptyque if they ever did something with alot of leather. To me it's a clean, slightly spicy leather. I don't get any circus connotations or musk. It comes across more like a car interior than a stable. If you like leather, this is one to try at least before buying. For me, I prefer my leathers a touch more cozy than clean, like Cuir Mauresque by Serge Lutens or Cuir de Russie from Chanel. Like other reviewers have remarked, this is more like a skin scent to enjoy and lasting power could be better but I have accepted that on me L'Artisans are fleeting enjoyments that need to be resprayed during the day. I wouldn't call this weird, it is enjoyable for those who crave leathery scents. However, it does not drive me to a frenzy for a full bottle like the two above did.
EDIT: I eat my words. I think I suffered from nose fatigue which is why I stopped smelling the scent after a few hours. I wore the same pair of pjs the next night and Dzing came out and hugged me again. So it does last. I'm contemplating not washing my pjs...ever.

a cigar in one hand, whiskey in another
Review for Havana Vanille (which to me is a different composition from Vanille Absolument which I found had a far more screechy opening). This is definitely not a gourmand vanilla ( at least to my nose it isn't). It's a herbal/tobacco dry vanilla that's just slightly sweet. I love it personally but I can see that this is a love it/hate it perfume as it's a little strange/challenging on the nose? I agree with the comparison to ELDO compositions. The herbal/tobacco/rum combination...it's very intriguing to say the least. Those who hate licorice will want to stay far away from this as the note is quite intense in the opening. The drydown is my favourite part where it is less intent on challenging your nose and becomes a softer, comforting and warm, ever just slightly sweet woody vanilla. It lasted about six hours on me and by then it was truly a skin scent. I find this more interesting a composition than Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille although that is also a fond favourite for this catergory of scent.

sweet leather
I love loukhoum centered fragrances and am lucky to own three gorgeous, different interpretations. Keiko Mercheri's Loukhoum Eau Poudree would be the bubbly giddy headed young girl whose favourite colour would be pink. Lucky for her, good breeding lends some panache to her pink. Serge Luten's Louve is a cold, harder version of loukhoum. Yes the sugar and the almonds are there, but frozen in an icy veil- for me it brought about memories of blisteringly cold walks in and about Europe, warm memories of winter smells. Traversee du Bosphore lies in between these two extremes. The sweetness is held in reign by the saffron and leather which also help to warm up the fragrance and keep it from going frigid like Louve.
The only drawback that I find as with most of L'artisans, is the sillage and longevity. Albeit better than chasse aux papillons in terms of sillage, it is still very much a skin scent for me. Longevity is much better, lasting at least over eight hours for me, which is satisfactory but not remarkable. Still despite these negatives, I find myself having bought a full bottle of this warm beauty to add to the gourmand section flanked by her two siblings.

tuberose on diet
One of the most ethereal tuberose scents I've come across. Usually tuberose for me is lush and seductive like Jessica Rabbit but here it's as innocent and doe-eyed as Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. Very aptly named, it's as soft and fragile as I would imagine the brush of a butterfly would be. I would advise liberal sprays with this one to really get the scent going, no matter how heavy handed one gets, this still stays airy fairy like. Like with most L'Artisan scents I've come across, beautifully constructed but sadly lacking in the sillage and longevity departments. I would get around this the next time by buying enormous bottles and hit the spray button like a jackhammer. I would recommend this even as a blind buy or a gift.
