Peace, Love and Yum!
"Keora" and I have been running into each other in several places and countries. I have seen it priced way up and sold as a bargain...yet somehow I was always looking for something else or I could never find a tester. Finally I decided to give it my full attention and test this potion in its pretty bottle (which is made out of thick glass that is quite heavy) with its cute tassel.

At first spray a complex and spicy incense wafts to my nose and I feel transported to the 60s where there is a Peace & Love party in full swing yet all the guests are posh and are wearing silk Kaftans and designer jeans. The spicy indian food is delicious. The smell of hand-rolled incense is lingering in the air and mixes with the expensive and exotic body oils the guests are wearing. "Posh Hippie" is the thought that comes to mind...and I like it!

It's more complex than the listed notes imply. It's smooth and beautiful and I have the urge to wear black silk and emerald velvet and adorn myself with that special necklace that was gifted to me from a loved one who visited Egypt. An intricate elegant design of silver, vibrant lapis lazuli and velvet green malachite....Beautiful and colourful and this is the perfect scent to wear with it.

It's an amber spicy and (smoke free!) incense-ey beauty (and contains lots more notes that are so well blended that I cant really tell them apart) and I can only sigh and enjoy the wonderful result on my wrists.

Keora is for all those people who hoped/expected that Juicy Coutures "Peace Love and Juicy Couture" was an elegant hippie scent. And for all those with a penchant for the mysteries of the East with its colourful Souqs, its intricate jewelry and scented temples, but who don't want to smell like cheap smoky incense. Keora is not linear in it scent evolvement...no, it's a pretty mix of notes that evolve and have always a smooth amber vibe to it.

Cross my palm with silver...and I'll predict that if you like the above mentioned things you'll adore Keora.

Silage is: amber yumminess and spicy beauty - Longevity is: 8+ hours. Enjoy!

The Softer Shalimar
"Shalimar Eau Legere" is one of the very few *flankers* of the original that I deeply adore. It's an absolute beauty and a must sniff for everyone who loves the original Shalimar but wants something more suitable for everyday, or for those of us who find the original too daunting and heavy but would like to wear a Shalimar scent without losing the heart of the original. If you wanted to love Shalimar but couldn't get passed the civet musk and cedar notes that can be perceived as quite strong by some, than this one is for you!

SEL is Shalimars softer side, the perfect mix of citrus and vanilla with a seductive base of amber. Warm, cuddly and infinitely pretty; a true charming sister of the original and a wonderful addition to each Shalimar lovers shelf.

Silage is: a cuddly and beautiful cloud of Shalimar that wont startle you with an angry civet or biter lemons -- Longevity is: 8+ beautiful hours of soft yet persistent seduction of citrus / vanilla/ amber notes that get closer to the skin with time but never lose their beauty....*Hmmm*

Eternity Can Be Revisited
"Eternity" is a modern classic that flooded the market and was an instant success. These days it's not as unique as it used to be, but it is still a very recognizable scent and I still get into moods where I like to wear it.

On me its the perfect lily-of-the-valley and carnation notes mixed with a zesty citrus note, and thats no mean feat if you know that LOTV and carnation can easily individually ruin a perfume for me...no matter what other lovely notes might be present, yet in Eternity they both live in wonderful harmony among the other notes. Its all sparkly fresh green with freesia and dries down onto a heliotrope base.

A lovely choice if you'd like a fresh floral that has great silage and longevity, and these days it's not as omnipresent as it used to be, so perhaps now it the time to try it (again) and surround yourself with an elegant cloud among the current fruity/candy wave that has swept perfume-land. It's still yummy and now there are flankers to choose from, too! ; )

I am aware that Eternity is often compared to "Sun Moon Stars" - I own SMS too and smell the similarities but also the differences and you should not assume that SMS is a dead-ringer for Eternity but rather that they are sisters, one sporty and extravert whilst the other is more demure and a bit dreamy.

Silage is: a fresh and elegant floral - longevity is: Hello! I am an 80s child! Smell me always and all day long! Enjoy.

Rosamor Without a Rose
"Rosamor" is a very charming scent with a vintage powder and lipstick smell. Especially the dry down makes me feel like I put my nose into my small make up bag that contains a lush facial powder, a Chanel lipstick and a small purse spray of my favourite scent de jour.

Rosamor (love the name btw) Isn't a rose scent and doesn't open or end with a rose note either, no, rather a touch of freesia - which makes its opening notes *fresh* followed by a gardenia/tuberose middle stage that softly replaces the opening freshness with a powdery dry down that is laced with musk, sandalwood and heliotrope. Nope, I cant detect any rose note so the name is a bit misleading, that or my chemistry is banning the rose from evolving.
The make-up smell gives it a vintage vibe hence the retro shaped flacon makes sense to me.

In the dry down it does remind me a bit of EA "Red Door Revealed" - but it's slightly more floral and to my nose a tad prettier. Suitable for all occasions in which a pretty, soft and slightly sensual scent with an innocent vibe is desired. It's office and date friendly and has the approval of men. Not suitable for people who expect a rose perfume. Try before buy!

Silage is: lipstick, powder and soft florals - Longevity is: quite astounding for such a soft scent with on me 7+ hours, and if I you'll let it, it will be there the next day still...A soft and pretty powdery whisper close to the skin.

A Dangerous Lily
I have a few EA scents in my collection and like/love most of them, so when a friend bough "Splendor" for a very cheap price, I was curious to test this one.
One spray on my wrist and it instantly hit me...a lily-of-the-valley note that allows no competition of any other notes.

On me "Splendor" is a lily-of-the-valley bomb like no other, its LOTV note is sharp, unforgiving and too much of a good thing, which makes it a bad thing. It doesn't mellow out and doesn't seem to have a middle or dry down, no, on me it's all sharp screeching LOTV. It gives me a headache and makes me slightly dizzy. After enduring it for 3 hours (I was in transit and couldn't scrub my wrist) I had to pull my sleeve down in a futile effort to *stop* the LOTV note from permeating my head into a dizzy spell, but alas, this Splendor is a longevity and silage monster and I applaud the chemistry that can tame it.

On the plus side: if you're a REAL LOTV fan then this one should be on the top of your must try list. It's very inexpensive and this lilly wont wilt and will stay with you far into the next day because even a scrubbing of my wrist could not really diminish its power.

Alas, despite the very friendly price and the elegant bottle, this one is definitely not for me - but don't let that deter you fro trying and enjoying it. Good luck!
