Earthy Violets Sprinkled With Powder
I am normally not a real 'Splash-Scent' kind of gal. Nor can I claim that I am a big violet lover, but "Autumn Splash Violet" is a delightful scent that is nice for all those times that you crave a calmer scent that makes you feel pretty and pampered.

On me it's a violet bouquet with vanilla scented orchid and a musk dry down. I don't get any of the peony or bergamot note, no, on me it's very powdery. Its like pressing your nose into a freshly picked violet bouquet and catching a whiff of wood and earth. I love this one also for bedtime, it's calming and whispers from my skin stories of lush green forests with deep purple violet patches.

True; it's not the *best* violet scent on the market and there are cheaper ones, but this one has its charms and should be tested by people who love earthy violets and would like a splash that is inoffensively pretty and tender.

Silage is: violets and musk with a hint of orchids - Longevity is: 5+ hours. Good luck!

Kaleidoscope of Scents
I am a bit late to this Alien party, every time I tested it I smelled something different but was never really feeling the *vibe* - sitting on the fence and never invested in a full bottle I was endlessly contemplating until three days ago, when the decision was made for me; I was gifted a big bottle of the original Alien, the wonderful bottle looking magical with its intriguingly shaped purple flacon complete with gold detailing and 'alien' writing. *Hmmm*

Hard to believe there are only so few notes in it, since on my chemistry and to my nose it has a lot of different faces. It is (among many other things) reminiscent of Lady Million minus the very sweet honey and spicy lemon. A more elegant Lady Million, I would say. A Lady Million for all those that like the core vibe of her, but shy away from some of her notes that can be disastrous on some chemistries.

I also get licorice and berries and--of course--wood notes...lots of woodsy notes that are bathing in a jasmine bath and use berries as a snack. Its odd I know! Perhaps that's why its called Alien? It can play just a few notes yet manages to create a multi faceted (scent) sound. And leaves you wondering how many other notes are REALLY hiding in this flacon, that looks like it was left by the mother-ship to tempt and tease us to pick it up and spread its many scent experiences over the galaxy of olfactory!

On me it's an elegant, smooth and woodsy scent with a jasmine bouquet and a berry & licorice vibe that is familiar yet still manages to be its own scent. Suitable for all occasions, even the office if you are careful not to apply too much! I still don't know if I would have purchased it myself, yet am wearing and enjoying it as an unexpected gift. Perhaps it will grow on me enough to assimilate me into the matrix of real fans, or perhaps I am too earthbound to ever feel like leaving Terra-Firma. In either case, it's fun and I am looking forward to smell what other olfactory surprises this Alien will reveal to me!

Silage is: space wood bathing in jasmine, grown on the Moon and eating berries from Mars. - Longevity is: suitable for a deep space mission: 6+ hours and still counting down.

If you're one of the few people that hasn't sampled this yet, go and take your nose to this mysterious flacon that will not be containing what you think. Enjoy! : )

Smooth and Spicy - Love or Hate
"Carolina Herrera 212 Sexy" is on me a mood-stone scent. Some days my chemistry loves the deep dark and heavy notes and sometimes the pepper note stands out too much and I find its too heavy and *complex*. Yet when I am in the right mood and it's a bit cool outside this beauty warms up and gets effortlessly a lot of attention (especially from men).

I get heady gardenia with a dash of pepper an aura of bergamot and then more florals which are all leaning on a base of smooth, warm amber and sandalwood.

It's a sexy scent, if your chemistry agrees, and I can easily see why many people would find this too much of *something* to be comfortable. It's very 'chemistry dependent' and by no means a shy, demure and office friendly scent, no, its more of a sexy evening out or wild date night scent - those dates where you wear a butter smooth leather dress, stilettos and deep red Chanel lipstick.

Love it or hate it, but try it on your skin before purchase!

Silage is: smooth amber surrounded with heavy white florals dipped in a drop of bergamot and a pinch of pepper - longevity is: 6+ hours in which the amber and sandalwood notes get warmer ad project more prominently.

Spicy Fruity Floral
Red Door Shimmer is another Red Door flanker that in my opinion isn't a flanker at all:

Whilst "Red Door" (original) is a Flower-Power-House and "Red Door Revealed" is a Powder-Puff-Peony scent. "Red Door Shimmer" is a berry, fruit, spice scent that bears no resemblance to either.

A lot of berry based scents range from slightly sour to cloyingly sweet - in that area "Red Door Shimmer" is a nice addition to the berry genre since its berries, fruits and florals are nicely balanced with a delicious pink pepper note that takes a bite out of the berry sweetness and makes it pleasantly spicy without that it's too peppery. I find this particular mix of notes a nice and successful example of sweet and spicy.

Berry and pear notes are the very first thing that travel to my nose after I spray this, immediately followed by a lovely pink pepper. Some pepper notes in scents make me crinkle my nose or even sneeze. If you had pepper notes tickle your nose and you didn't really like it, fear not - in RDS the pepper is a soft (pink) pepper and is just there to balance, not to overwhelm or annoy.

In the middle stage the floral notes join but are always secondary to the fruit and pepper. And in the dry down sandalwood and a vibe of amber ground this spicy fruity floral into a warm yet slightly sweet scent with a highly YUM factor and a very pleasant gourmand-like vibe.

To me RDS is a pleasant, pretty and versatile scent that is suitable for office and dates alike. It's elegant with a spicy and slightly playful side that suits most people and situations.

Recommended for people who don't expect a Red Door (Original) clone and who would like to have a *safe* pepper based scent and don't mind if their berries get *tamed*.

Silage is: berries with a bite - Longevity is: a deliciously spicy 6+ hours.

A Mediterranean Version of Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche
"Versace Versense" is the perfect choice for spring/summer days in which you want a fresh scent that has an opulent and elegant vibe. It's uplifting, refreshing and very pretty.

On me it's a yummy bergamot followed by mandarins and citruses trailing an olive branch, then to my surprise, a juicy rich fig note appears and in the dry down cedar and a dash of sandalwood ground it without making it powdery. It's a very well balanced scent and the citruses never dominate too much, all the notes in Versace Versense are very well blended and permeate class. It reminds me of Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche but in a Mediterranean style.

The potion doesn't only look green it *feels* green (a fresh and elegant green).
I own the body-lotion too and especially on warm or hectic days in the office it's my Oasis of calm and classy cool.

A must sniff for people who'd like an elegant and fresh office/date scent for warm days, and people who like Chanels Chance Eau Fraiche but would like a Mediterranean twist to it. Try it layered with the pampering body lotion and smell absolutely cooly divine!

Silage is: a Mediterranean Chanel Chance Fraiche?...YUM! - Longevity is: 5+ hours. (if I layer it with the body lotion its easily 8+ hours). Good luck! : )
