Sweet, agreeable, versatile - quite nice entry
My third sampling of the women’s line of Encounter Scents is In the Club for Her, another offering that I find very easy to like. Like both Compliment and Confidence for Her, In the Club for Her is sweet, floral, and mostly fresh, but unlike Compliment, it’s not candied, and unlike Confidence, it’s not particularly tangy. And unlike both, it’s not especially young, fruity, and effervescent. In the Club feels more mature, more versatile for women of all ages, slightly more of an homage to fragrances of the recent past.

In the Club for Her, like the other two women’s entries I’ve tried, has a sweet musky quality to it that makes it very agreeable and versatile. It has the feeling of a blend of rose, coffee, musk, pear, and a floral mix. It’s really quite nice, though I find it just as apt for relaxation as invigoration/going out. So far it’s my favorite of the three, and it probably leans the most unisex of the three.

Its pricing is the standard $85 for 100ml for the Encounter Scents line, with 15% off available, and like the scents I’ve tried so far, performs quite well.

Agreeable, energizing, balanced sweet/floral/fruity/musky mix
Encounter Scents Confidence for Her is my second try of the initial women’s quintet of releases. Like Confidence for Him, Confidence for Her is energizing and is sweet, tangy, musky, and slightly effervescent. It lacks the candy/floral qualities of Compliment for Her and instead offers a more blended floral/fruity top with a more familiar woody, musk, slightly resinous. Still, it’s sweet, versatile, and easily enjoyable, probably more so for people of all ages, contra the younger-leaning Compliment. And while its intended audience is women, it’s pretty comfortable unisex, in my opinion, the florals being not so overwhelming as to take over the fragrance. It feels balanced and well-blended.

The pricing for Confidence for Her is the standard $85 for 100ml with a 15% discount, which, at extrait concentration, feels like a great deal. Confidence for Her performs quite well, like pretty much every other entry in the line that I’ve tried so far.

Nice sweet fruity floral feminine fragrance, leans younger
Sampling Encounter Scents Compliment for Her, my first try of the five women’s scents. It’s fruity, very sweet, slightly floral, and slightly fizzy/effervescent, and seems fitting with modern women’s scents that lean youthful. It has citruses, peach, caramel, tonka, musk, pink peony, and heliotrope. It’s sugary and easily enjoyable for those that like sweet fragrances, but it’s aptly feminine, probably too feminine even for some men like me that enjoy sweet scents.

Compliment for Her is quite strong, as well, a bit stronger than Compliment for Him, and is very good performer, with strong projection, high density, and great longevity. Like the rest of the line, both men’s and women’s, Compliment for Her is priced at $85 for 100ml in extrait concentration, available with a 15% discount.

Sweet and rosy, very easily likable and versatile
My fourth sampling of Encounter Scents is Romantic for Him, a sweet floral mix of rose, saffron, toffee, magnolia, coriander, and white musk, among other notes. It’s a little fresh, as well, a very lovable blend that’s nonetheless somewhat provocative. The first blast is very rosy and it remains so on my skin, and the mix becomes slightly sweeter as it dries down. I tend to detect rose prominently in fragrance, so that might be just me, but Romantic for Him does seem to have a good parity between rose and other elements, a harmonious blend of supporting notes that complement the rose.

Romantic for Him is another well-named creation, as it does feel romantic, as most rose-laden fragrances tend to, and leans slightly formal rather than playful, though the sweet toffee accord in particular does make it a little playful. It feels fairly versatile, as well, with respect to season, not overwhelmingly on a summer night but still strong enough for winter wearing.

I saw someone liken it to Navitus Parfums Absolutio, and while the toffee does foster some connection, Romantic for Him is far more a rose scent, while Absolutio has more of the cherried toffee vibe with a slight metallic twinge.

Like the other entries in the line, Romantic for Him is extrait strength and is priced at $85 for 100ml, with 15% off available, sometimes more. Performance-wise, it’s not as strong as In the Club for Him but perhaps slightly stronger than Compliment for Him or Confidence for Him.

Romantic for Him so far gets the highest marks of the collection, with Compliment being my second favorite. I’m quite impressed with the collection so far.

Good clubbing scent, aptly named
In the Club for Him is my third sampling of Encounter Scents, and once again, it’s aptly named, a sort of sweet citrus nutty spicy woody scent. There’s somehow a juicy/boozy quality to it, as well. It feels like a nighttime scent, midway between formal and informal, but year-round friendly.

It’s an odd mix of notes but they create a loud experience that feels very apropos for a club. There’s sharpness from the lavender and mint, dirtiness from the clary sage and tobacco, sweetness from the pear and vanilla, spiciness from cinnamon. It’s quite sweet, overall—perhaps too sweet for those unfamiliar with this type of scent, but very much on-target for a clubbing-type scent.

In that vein, In the Club for Him reminds me vaguely of Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male and Paco Rabanne 1 Million but is surely quite different from both, and worth trying, especially, if you dig clubbing scents.

I find Compliment for Him and Confidence for Him, the other two Encounter Scents offerings that I’ve tried so far, to be more agreeable, with In the Club for Him being a bit edgier and more particular, and it’s slightly stronger than the other two, as well, but priced the same, at $85 for 100ml in extrait concentration, with discounts of 15% (or potentially greater) available.
