Divine! Heavenly Gourmande Delights!
An absolutely beautiful perfume from Jean Paul Gaultier (JPG). This is such a gorgeous scent. It's orange blossom-dominant which is one of my absolute favourite fragrances, and just a few sprays on different pulse points goes a long way indeed. The sillage is excellent, radiating out at least 4-5 feet from the body if not more, so a little goes a long way. The divine fragrance also lasts for between 5-6 hours, if not longer, with the scent lingering on the clothes on has worn. This is a perfume which will turn heads, and it's a divine fragrance that, just by spritzing it on your skin, will uplift your mood, and envelop you in a feeling that you're floating on cloud 9!

I'd been eagerly awaiting its arrival by post this morning, and have definitely been rewarded with a heavenly fragrance. As soon as it was opened and I sprayed upon pulse points, the scent was a sweet, spicy, syrupy honey-like ginger ale. It was very heavy and dense and yet the sweetness was in no way cloying or too much. There's a honey-like texture, almost caramel. Intriguingly, it's somehow both thick and sparkling and bright all at the dame time! The ginger is well balanced by the orange blossom and the aldehydes which alone carry a vanilla-like scent. The vanilla lets one know it's a Classique but the Essence is more vanilla-based and spicy with the most gorgeous orange blossom, along with actual whipped cream, honey, almonds and some beginning notes of jasmine as the mid notes slowly begin to appear.

The mid notes became evident as creamy white florals appearing on my skin and, in the notes, there's jasmine and orange blossom. The orange blossom's definitely more noticeable which is one of my favourite scents alone let alone in this gorgeous swirl of aromas. I thought there was a hint of tuberose but that's not part of the official list of notes so maybe it's the mix of benzoin with tangerine. The florals are full and rich but never cloying, and they're sweet and slightly powdery.

Also in the mid range, there's a wonderful very creamy texture. In the notes, whipped cream is listed and this gives us whipped cream with very sweet vanilla, orange blossom, and other beautiful floral notes. There's also benzoin which gives a honey-like, syrupy, caramel-like texture. And one can still smell the ginger spice. This beautiful perfume is an orange-blossom heavy floral, with spicy oriental gourmande quite literally with vanilla and whipped cream on top!

The dry-down of the perfume is extremely smooth. It smells quite similar to the mid notes on my skin. As mentioned earlier, it's quite long-lasting, easy to wear and an incredibly sexy and sophisticated perfume. It's reminiscent of Alien Essence Absolute by Thierry Mugler in the sense that just as the former feels so rich, deep, dark, thick and heavy, so does one get that feeling here. So, if you like Mugler's Alien Essence Absolute, you'll very likely love this perfume as well. In the drydown, it's still very sweet and creamy. There's notes of musk and a type of juniper called cade wood which provides even more sensuality. The scent of spicy white florals sits atop a woody base that comes very deep in the drydown.

This is definitely my favourite perfume not just in the Classique line, but from Jean-Paul Gaultier. I just discovered that there's a Classique shower gel and a moisturising body lotion, so those wishing to layer the scent can definitely do so. I definitely intend to purchase the gel and the lotion in the future. However, the perfume alone is quite powerful, and a little truly does go a long way. If you're looking for a sweet, syrupy-like florental gouramande perfume that's extremely easy to wear and which will delight the senses of others around you, then this fragrance is for you. It's an absolutely divine perfume, and I've had compliments from strangers who've wished to know the name of the perfume. It's suitable for any time of the day and any season although I do believe it's likely at its best during the cooler months and in the evenings. JPG's Classique Essence EDP is a sophisticated, sexy, absolutely feminine perfume that will leave you feeling like a goddess as soon as you spray it on. If you're in need of a 'pick me up', this fragrance will boost your mood and your confidence. It will attract attention, in a good way, so be prepared for people to stop and ask you if you'd let them know what perfume you're wearing!

An Average Floral Rose Perfume. D&G Can Do Better.
This was the first D&G fragrance I've bought and was a blind buy which I now regret, as I find this fragrance disappointing. Whilst it's meant to be a rose fragrance, it's more of a watered down rose and the musk and cashmere notes really dominate after the initial burst of fresh, fruity-florals on opening.
At first, the fruity papaya blossoms and neroli top notes notes mix together with musk to provide a lovely burst of fresh, feminine scent. This is, however, rapidly gone within about half an hour to an hour to be replaced by white musk and cashmere. It's reminiscent of having a bath after lathering oneself with cashmere soap and musk oil - that's how strong the musk is. The drydown is a mix of aquatic green, white musk and cashmere notes with a powdery finish that happens quite quickly. I don't detect the sandalwood that's meant to be a base note, and the scent really reminds me of bars of cashmere soap which my mother used to use.
The staying power of this fragrance isn't great and it rapidly becomes a skin scent so this fragrance can be worn anywhere. It has a fairly low sillage and only lasts a few hours at most.
This is suited to any occasion and it's pleasant enough but nothing special. If you're wanting a good rose fragrance, try Bvgari rose instead. D&G haven't made this unique in any way, and I'm disappointed with this especially considering its price.
It's a lovely bottle, quite a beautiful design, and one expects to find a glorious perfume inside but it's just an average scent - pleasant and feminine but with more light musk and cashmere than rose. It's a fragrance that can be worn anytime, although spring and summer are probably the best months, and it's versatile so you can wear it to any occasion because it is gentle, feminine and fairly light.
However, if you are after a genuine rose fragrance, try Bvlgari Rose instead. D&G haven't made this unique in any way so I'm not going to be buying this again. It's not a fragrance I'll be reaching for very often and it has already been relegated to the back of my cupboard for perfumes, to be worn only if I run out of everything else - which means it won't see much use at all and I'm considering selling it as a result.

Arabian Nights
I've just one word to sum up this fragrance: Divine!

Earlier today I was trying out sample of fragrances which were sent to my son some time ago from luckyscents and they're meant to be 13 'Masculine' scents in little bottles about 1.5 mls. Well, there were a couple of scents which I really liked, and so I decided to write a review for them beginning with this fragrance because it's most definitely my absolute favourite.

Immediately upon opening, the scents bring to mind a traveller moving slowly through the Middle East, likely the Arabian Peninsula, and having stopped at a bazaar which is filled with not only people selling and buying items but there are numerous hessian sacks full to the brim and spilling over with spices and various herbs, namely of coriander and cloves. These two spices are smoothly blended together to make the top note of this beautiful and unique fragrance designed for both women and men. And whilst I had reservations about how this would fair on my skin, as a woman, this fragrance actually smelled divine and the mix of Jasmine, one of the top notes, along with the Vetiver, one of the middle notes, give this fragrance it's ability to work on female bodies and not be overpowering nor too spicy or darkly resinous.

As soon as you have sprayed this fragrance onto your skin a few times - it has a moderate sillage, projecting and is still noticeable 24 hours after the initial sprays - you instantly receive a delicious burst of citrusy freshness, reminiscent of the sparkling lemon soft drink called "Solo" and of the "4711" Eau De Cologne. This is due, I believe, to the top notes of Coriander, a herbaceous plant whose use in perfumery dates back to Ancient Egypt and also Greece where it was cultivated for the manufacture of perfumes with its seeds became the spice for fragrances - and the leaves used for culinary purposes. Coriander seeds are described as warm, nutty, spicy, and orange-flavoured whilst the leaves have a refreshing and lemony or lime-like flavour. Coriander, therefore, provides a fresh and citrusy aroma and it is this top note which you definitely scent as soon as the fragrance is sprayed on your skin. Cumin is another top note which literally gives spice to the fresh green herbaceous aroma at this fragrance's opening. There is also the scent of Cloves which whilst is not listed in the ingredients is strong enough or m to believe that Clove is one of the spices in this perfume.

Petitgrain, another of the top notes, adds to the flush of citrus, providing the scent of slightly bitter oranges to the fresh burst of citrus at opening. The citrusy-spicy aroma is then followed up with smooth waves of fragrance consisting of a smooth and syrupy Amber and Cedar, giving the Cedar, Spices and Fresh bursts of Citrus a new accent of resinous wood.

Then, about 40 minutes in, the Labdanum (from the middle note of "rock rose") and Cistus, a resin extracted fro the "rock rose" flowers, create a scent which is a mix of incense, smoke, woody resin, balsamic, and smoky tobacco. This creates an entire new dimension to the fragrance, giving it subtle depths and light and shade which blends in perfectly both for lover f Amber and with the Amber note itself.

There's then a fresh note of Vetiver which gives the Amber-Spicy-Fresh Citrusy fragrance and its incense-smoke-tobacco-resinous-balsamic depths a heavier, earthy aroma which is similar to Patchouli with a touch of Lemon. Indeed, here the actual base note of Patchouli becomes noticeable and blends in well with the Vetiver, creating a pungent earthy scent and Labdanum, one of the base notes, wafts up in sweet, leathery dry Musk scents and gives the wearer a touch of Ambergris and continues the Woody notes from the initial opening.Ambergris is actually one of the base notes and so the Vetiver with its scent like Ambergris blends so perfectly into the Ambergris base note.

The drydown continues the heavenly blend of Amber and Ambergris with the Labdanum giving a mix of Leather and Musk accents along with Spices. Patchouli remains as a mild scent underlying the perfume. And then imagine you are bathing in a hot bath full of suds from Cashmere Soap, Jasmine petals, and Vanilla. These uplifting scents are joined by Lavender, Birch, and a hint of herbaceous green freshness again but instead of the initial Citrusy top notes it's from a mix of Birch and Oakmoss. The base note of Geranium provides a lemony green scent which is also a little peppery, mixing with the remain of the Spices that run throughout this fragrance from its opening to the drydown.

This fragrance, L'Air du Desert Marocain, is not only a divine Spicy Oriental perfume but it evokes images of travelling throughout the Middle East's Arabia Peninsula and its bazaars full of resinous spices and herbaceous Citrus spilling out of hessian sacks whilst the air is redolent wit the warming aromas of Incense being burnt on braziers, Ambergris and Amber mixing on charcoal briquettes to provide beautiful resinous balsamic and spicy aromas which now and again are accented by the scents of sweet florals like Jasmine and lemony green Citruses worn as essential oils on the skin of the many women moving through the bazaar.

This perfume evokes not only the image of a Morrocan desert on a hot evening but travelling along the Silk Road with the famous explorer, Marco Polo. Once you delight in the initial opening of Fresh, Greens, Citruses, Amber and Ambergris notes, you are vividly recalled to the spice markets and bazaars which Marco Polo, trained as a merchant as well as embarking on numerous diplomatic missions, not only wrote about but stopped at and explored. This fragrance brings to mind Marco Polo exploring these bazaars and spice markets, the resins and herbs, the beautiful jewellery and the plush multi-coloured rugs that decorated thew walls and floors of the bedouins such as those in Morocco which this perfume's name indicates.

This fragrance has been written about as "one of the most popular in the line" of Perfumerer Andy Tauer's fragrant creations, and this is stated with good reason. Composed f Spicy Oriental notes and inspired by Saharan deserts in the moonlight and evenings in Morocco, the perfume is suited to both women and men and its mix of Woody, Aromatic Amber and Balsamic, Soft and Fresh Spicy accords with its perfect blending of the various notes so they blend seamlessly into this absolutely divine fragrance more than justify its expense. It is ideal to wear for any occasion but it seems particularly suited to warm evenings and winter nights by a crackling bonfire, and to being worn to special occasions because it is, after all, a unique fragrance and so suits unique and special occasions, such as celebrations (from birthdays to anniversaries and Weddings) and to make an impression at a job interview, to wear to the office, occasionally, and on a night out whilst dressed both warmly yet elegantly, in a little black dress if one is a woman or a business suit if one's a man. This fragrance is beautiful, sophisticated, classy, elegant and unique and suits women and men who are intelligent, mature, creative and imaginative and know where they're heading in their lives and careers. It's not for the indecisive, the immature, nor for those who are afraid of challenge or change. This perfume is for the creative, confident and classy.

Mouthwateringly Divine!
A loved one bought some samples from luckyscent and gave me some of the samples I really liked. This was one of them. Upon application, the scent is immediately a heady rush of lemon and smoky leather, mixed in with fruity notes and a tangy pepper to round off the perfume and ensure it's well=rounded. There's a tanginess to this fragrance. This is so well rounded that its not easy to differentiate the notes as time goes on. I've no idea where the vanilla's supposed to be, however the moss and the water jasmine combines with the leather and the cedar to give a nice woody-leathery-fruity-lemon mix.

It really is divine and completely mouthwatering. The scent alone makes me want to keep putting my nose next to my wrist and taking deep breaths in of this heady aroma. It's absolutely intoxicating!

Today it's a summery day despite it being a winter sun and the air is fairly dry. It seems to be ideal for Cedrat Boise and the aroma goes further than I remember the previous time I'd applied this from the little sample container to pulse points. Others remarked on the "lovely scent" and wanted to know what I was wearing so they could maybe try it on and for themselves.

It's utterly delicious and I'd like to save up to purchase the actual 120 ml bottle itself, along with a few other fragrances that the luckyscemt samples have really made me decide to buy the EDP itself. This is a must-have fragrance.

Whilst I have no idea if it smells like other fragrances such as the Aventus Creed some people refer to, I know this is a delightful and divine fragrance - delicious, fresh and inviting. It has the scent of a summer's day in the wind.

Imagine that you were to shower and then to mix the essential oils of Sicilian lemon and bergamot with Jasmine and sandalwood, whilst lit a charcoal brazier upon which you paced some chips of cedar wood and some sandalwood, which sent up plumes of whitish smoke filling the air with these woody aromas. You then mixed a base oil with the essential oils of the lemon, jasmine and bergamot and rubbed this onto your body. Once drenched in this heady mix you ran a bath in which you poured some vanilla and spices, and you lay down in this bath and breathed in these exquisite scents. When you finally emerged, you wrapped yourself in leather and dabbed a little white musk on your pulse points as well as continued to add cedar chips and sandalwood to the brazier so the aromas of the wood and the smoky incense mingled and wrapped you around enticingly. This is Cedrat Boise Mancera for women and men. It is mouthwateringly divine and absolutely intoxicating and it's a fragrance I'm getting with my next payday.
