Christmas feeling at Easter
I have many fond memories of both holidays. Of course, one perceives things differently with time, circumstances change...especially this year. But you can still make the best of it.

Well, actually I'm much too old for egg hunts anyway, but of course I was very happy when I got a few things anyway. Among other things this scent. I've had it on my screen for a while now, because it's very well rated here.

When I sprayed it on for the first time, my sister immediately said that this perfume just smelled like Christmas. That's partly true. It should be noted that it doesn't have a single fresh, fruity or floral note to make up for the sweetness. To put it more precisely: I perceive primarily almond, heliotrope and cocoa butter. I don't necessarily smell black rose, which is even written on the 'bottle'. The perfume is incredibly soft and powdery. I'm thinking of Turkish honey myself. There's no great scent, but it doesn't have an alcohol note at the beginning, which wouldn't be strange at this price.

The durability is okay. About 5 hours I feel the scent on my skin. In my opinion 2 sprays are enough, then this perfume works best. For me it is a cuddly scent for quiet evenings, best with a cocoa and my favourite series. To pass as a going out scent, in my opinion a few edges are missing. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just not really suitable for such an occasion. Maybe for a nice date...?

All in all I am more than satisfied with this perfume. Byzantium manages to combine very strong, gourmand notes in such a way that they are beautifully presented, but still remain rather reserved and gentle. This really makes the fragrance stand out. Maybe it would be better known if the packaging wasn't so incredibly ugly, or at least it just doesn't look like a bottle. If I hadn't found Byzantium here, I would simply have thought that this was a deodorant and not looked at it at all. But thank God there's an exchange of opinions, because the perfume already deserves recognition for this quality at this award.

Zeitgeist meets group pressure
A few years ago, that smell was everywhere. A good friend of mine had it and because I liked it very much on her, I took a look at the scent too. So much for individuality, but if things that are mainstream were very bad, they probably wouldn't be mainstream either. Well...

And actually the perfume smells pretty good. It starts out like something you buy at Starbucks: Very sweet latte, with caramel syrup and cream. But the sugary one disappears quickly and the scent becomes softer. What remains is a pleasing mix of coffee with lots of milk and vanilla. Well, I'm not really thinking about black. I'm thinking more of the color of the liquid. It's an old cliché, but maybe something like Opium Girl wouldn't have been a bad name for it. Yeah, I guess so. After all, it's a new edition of a classic, which doesn't really have anything in common with the aforementioned classic, but is supposed to appeal to young people...yes, it's certainly successful, it's quite wearable. The only question is why I am not really enthusiastic about this water.

On the one hand I like the scent because it reminds me of several people who are important to me. On the other hand, I can see that it's probably a very good example of the new zeitgeist: designer brand, nice presentation, actually very nice anyway, but quality and individuality? Well, that's both secondary. That's why I have to say that although I'm very happy to have been given it as a gift, I don't think that Black Opium is worth the money now that I've been able to test the durability and fragrance progression.

I can certainly understand why the fragrance was so popular for such a long time, perhaps especially when you don't really deal with the subject matter and don't know what else is around. That's why I'll cherish my bottle and remember the time when I didn't really know anything about perfume.

Or maybe I'll look at more than one Dupes. At the moment I own the one from La Rive, which is portable, but not really close to the original. A bigger similarity seemed to be the one from Kik (Black Emotion). Don't ask, somehow I find it ironic...and a bit sad...

A little peace and blue velvet
At the moment we are in a situation that has probably never been seen before. Suddenly, things that have been taken for granted are no longer possible. I have several methods to avoid the camp fever. I also like to put on scents to which I have positive associations.

Miss Dream belongs in that category. Firstly, this perfume is so cheap that you can get over the pain of drizzling, even though you're not going anywhere anyway. Secondly... it's pretty special for this price range. As I mentioned in my statement, it's hard to put Miss Dream in any particular category. The start is fruity and very refreshing, but not citric, or aquatic. The best comparison would be fruit whey, or drinking yoghurt. On the skin the scent becomes heavier and fuller. The floral notes are also apparent, but are only secondary to vanilla, milk and tonka. Miss Dream has a lot of depth, but no extreme edges. That's why the fragrance isn't exhausting, but somehow soothing. I put it on and feel as if I was wrapped in dark blue velvet.

Besides, I have to say that Miss Dream is not just my favorite. My boyfriend isn't really interested in perfume, if anything, something subtle and fresh. Nevertheless, he likes this scent on me very much, which I consider a great compliment to La Rive. After all, it's hard to convince people who don't like sweet scent compositions of just such a thing.

Even if the perfume is beautiful, it is unfortunately not perfect. Durability is mediocre at best, and even within the brand there are fragrances that perform better. I perceive Miss Dream for 2, maximum 3 hours, then I have to refill the bottle. On the other hand it was clear that with not even 10€ there must be losses somewhere...

So if you want to have a fascinating fragrance for little money, you should definitely take a look at Miss Dream as soon as the current situation has improved. I will then definitely get some more supplies from Miss Dream and have a nice dinner with my friend.

I wish you all strength. Take good care of yourselves!

No vanilla scent...
...that's mainstream. Much of what vanilla says on it either has nothing to do with vanilla at all, or smells like dessert and extremely sweet. At least in the cheaper segment. I like scents like that, but eventually you're full. This sweetheart is different

For a long time I ignored Vanilla, because I didn't like him at first. I don't know if it was the spices in the top note, but for me it just smelled dusty and pungent on the test strip, not vanilla at all. Because the first impression is often deceptive and the smell changes over the course of a lifetime, I gave the fragrance another chance a few years later, strolled through the miller's shop anyway and tested myself through the perfume shelf. What can I say, maybe I'm getting old, maybe my taste has changed... Anyway, I can't get enough of vanilla now!

This scent really teaches you that you should not judge by the test strip alone. You have to spray vanilla on your skin for it to unfold, but that's where it comes off. The spices get nice and warm and slowly vanilla is added. It's subtle and doesn't force itself on you. I'm not thinking here of decadent, high-calorie sweets, but vanilla, which is perfectly accentuated by the other ingredients and doesn't want to represent anything else. That's what makes the fragrance so special.

For an EDT, Vanilla has real power. On fabric, the scent lasts for a day. On myself, I perceive it for 5 hours and enjoy it when a small surge of scent comes up from this sweet-spicy-warm cloud. I also often get a "it smells good here" when I greet someone, which is probably the best proof that I have found something really great.

Perhaps the fragrance is not necessarily for the very young, because it behaves differently than the newer stuff. But if you have a little patience and a weakness for vanilla, you should take a look at this EDT, because it has that certain something that some more expensive perfumes lack

Yeah, we used to walk around like this...
Ever look at old school pictures and think "This is how I walked around?!" Going through a phase that is now rather embarrassing in terms of styling? Yes, the minis generally fit into this category quite well, because they were often quite popular in the school days of people who are now in their twenties. Mousse make-up, which in terms of colour matched almost no one and Ed Hardy, but also and therefore almost no one would dare leave the house. So what about Mini Pink?

I myself have possessed with 12 Mini Love and Mini Sexy. I first became aware of Mini Pink through perfume. Caramel, vanilla and heliotrope sounded tempting and at some point the bottle was lowered considerably, so why not...For scenting at home, something inexpensive fits anyway. Nevertheless, it's hard to ignore the assumption that this perfume is more for teenagers. Why? Because the test made me feel like I was going back in time a decade!

Mini Pink is, like a teenager, a bit defiant, maybe not exactly stylish, but definitely unique. The scents suggest a caramel candy, but in reality you get something completely different. It's definitely sweet, between vanilla and heliotrope there is another note that comes to the fore for me, which is not listed at all...Maybe I'm odour-blind, but I think I can perceive lavender. Yes, just a teenager who doesn't want to be like the others, but still wants to be liked by his peers. But is that why the perfume is good?

Surely it is not a treasure in the collection and it does not smell extremely high-quality. On the other hand, at such a price it doesn't really make sense to complain about quality and performance. But because of the associations I have when spraying, I cannot give a bad evaluation. You may not like Mini Pink as an everyday scent, but if you ever feel the need to go back to a time when you read Bravo and covered yourself in strawberry lip gloss, it's really worth considering
