And indeed ... far beyond the expectations, which were also somewhat clichéd in my head, a fabulously courageous overture unfolded.
Sage - warm and austere, also bitter notes of wormwood and camomile characterize the beginning and remain dominant until the end of the fragrance.
Pigment increases the powerful but gentle sharpness. The somewhat imperious, intensive prelude now glides very calmly into fresh resinous pine forests. What a smooth change.

With "1868" Eau de Parfum, Acca Kappa has created a masterpiece. The interplay of the bitter spice of the laurel with the fine, bold, even innocent-looking scent of the violet is overwhelming. The enchantingly beautiful atmosphere of Acca Kappa fragrances always attracts me. I now know almost all of them and am always delighted by their cheerful lightness. Even the somewhat deeper notes from Acca Kappa are fine and fragrant treasures. They may not stand for particularly dramatic scents, but that is again particularly pleasant, relaxing and very typical
However, there is one notable exception.

Heavy, plain, thick-walled glass.
Ode - a wonderfully bitter and sharp prelude with slightly oily wood. Dark, heavy and quiet the carefully laid down rose on smoky oud and patchouli...

And then everything disappeared again. A short spell - a hundred years of history.
