Please stay a little longer...
With this short comment I try to describe my impressions of the fragrance:

The opening (duration: approx. 1-2 hours):
First of all big compliments to DUA! I love Layton and Aventus and with this fragrance they have managed to combine both main components. The opening is very citric, fruity, fresh and comparatively long lasting. A fruity chypre! The typical Aventus pineapple note accompanies this successful prelude. The sillage is really strong during the first 2 hours (I would give a 9 here). While the drydown at Layton occurs much earlier, you have to be a bit more patient here.

The drydown (after approx. 2 hours):

The drydown then goes more in the creamy and gourmand direction. Birch, musk and vanilla join in, while the citrus notes flatten out somewhat. Overall, the fragrance no longer radiates the great initial power. However, it really does smell very delicious :). I would rate the Sillage with a 7. Compared to this I find the drydown of Layton stronger - the drydown of PLC is a bit too shy for me.

Shelf life:
As you can already read from the headline, I am not completely satisfied with the durability. Especially with products from DUA I would have expected a shelf life beyond the 10 hour mark. But here the fragrance leaves me "already" after 6-8 hours. But of course it can also be due to my skin type...it lasts solidly on my clothes.

But why I find the fragrance so good anyway:
It combines the individual components of Aventus, Layton and Percival in a truly outstanding way. Those who love the individual fragrances will adore PLC! This fragrance is also a perfect all-rounder. In the office? No problem! Datenight? Compliments guaranteed! Season? Never mind! Even at sports he delights me :)

If it wasn't for Carlisle..
First of all: I tested Herod directly one day after Carlisle, which left a very lasting impression on me (performance monster, great smell etc.). The bar for Herod was accordingly high. I described Carlisle as a combination of vanilla croissant and apple strudel. Herod also seems to come fresh from the Christmas bakery to me. In fact I would even claim that both scents smell very similar (especially the vanilla base). While Carlisle still courted my attention with an apple/tonka bean combination, Herod tried to seduce me with a cherry/tobacco/cinnamon combination.

I find both fragrances really very attractive and pleasantly sweet. Nothing for the office but definitely something for the cooler days. As with Carlisle, I couldn't keep my nose off my wrist for long (attention addiction potential) :).

Overall, I can understand the positive evaluations for Herod. However, it is one thing to test directly before Herod Carlisle. Herod is a really great fragrance - but in my opinion it is somewhat overshadowed by Carlisle, who was able to convince a bit more with his stronger sillage and presence.

Hold my vanilla croissant
I recently received a bottling of the fragrance from our esteemed Maxiking. The YouTube videos and reviews of the fragrance have triggered an enormous anticipation in me. However, I should have read the comments more consciously - at least my colleagues would have thanked me. As a "newcomer" I am currently testing various fragrances under "competition conditions" (in the office, in my leisure time or even when doing sports). Until the test day of Carlisle with quite neutral reactions

Unsuspectingly, I applied 4 generous splashes of the fragrance and was directly enveloped by a cloud that was to accompany me the whole day (yes, really the whole day!). In short, I transformed my office into a Christmas bakery. I would describe the scent as a spicy combination of vanilla crescent and apple strudel. This was also perceived in this way by my colleagues - and not too briefly. Probably the already positive reactions would have been even better, if I hadn't overdone the dosage ;). After about 8 hours the apple strudel said goodbye, while the vanilla and tonka bean took over. I could actually still perceive the scent on my skin after 12 hours! An absolute shelf life monster!

Summary:
Reactions are safe with this fragrance. However, for the benefit of the staff, it should not necessarily be used in the office. The Sillage is too powerful for that! If you are into Christmas cookies/vanilla and are looking for a scent with an unbelievable H/S, this is certainly the right place. For me it was a great scent adventure and a getting to know, which makes you want to repeat it
