A confession or je ne regrette rien
I confess. No, I must confess.

First, I sniffed this yet very specific fragrance DNA in a sample of a fragrance twin. Yes , it is so - a fragrance twin. I tried a fragrance twin. What more can I say about it? I can literally hear the outcries of outrage. To my credit, I can only add one thing. I did not know what fragrance this was. At the time, I didn't know the brand Xerjoff, nor the term niche fragrances. I was at the beginning of my rediscovered passion for fragrances.

During an order, this fragrance twin sample fell into my hands. Without great expectations, I sprayed the fragrance on my wrist. Wow.
First of all, I was struck by how strong this fragrance was compared to the other fragrance samples. I didn't even have to sniff my wrist to notice it. I had never smelled such a complex composition before. It was simply love at first sight. I had to order this fragrance twin. Immediately.
That was not enough for me, not by a long shot. Because my curiosity was aroused. I researched this wonderful fragrance and was shocked to discover that it is one of those expensive niche fragrances that I had not heard of until now. Thus, I had no choice but to get me first only a bottling of the original.

How could it be otherwise, since I have already fallen in love with his little brother, Opera overwhelmed me - even more complex, more intense, longer lasting - simply stunningly beautiful and noble.

To smell out individual fragrance notes almost impossible. First, a slightly fruity note embedded in the rose scent with a dash of citrus. Somewhere I read that this could be bergamot. The spices like nutmeg and patchouli rise up and aromatize the sweet fruit-flower melange.
Opera is classified as floral-spicy on Parfumo. However, for me, a fine powdery note comes in addition. Something indescribably elegant and fine. All woven together by a balsamic note, which gives the elegant composition still something delicately warm pulsating.
In the end, all the components come together. The flowers and fruity notes step discreetly into the background. The spices are enclosed by the woods, embedded in the warm vanilla and as a little icing on the cake is still a slightly fresh, green element added.

Opera - yes, the name fits. Opera provides a stage for tender love stories, dramatic separations and strong emotions. Wrapped in this fragrance, opera-goers not only enjoy the poignant spectacle, but are a part of it.

Bottom line, "Je ne regrette rien."
I don't regret having tested the fragrance twin, because without it I would never have known the original. Now I'm waiting impatiently until a perfumery takes pity on me and offers Opera at a lower price. I'm afraid I'll have to be very, very patient for that.

A sacred powdered sugar bomb
What did I do? Inspired by the reviews at Parfumo, I dared a blind buy. I'm jittery. Yes, because I'm holding my package with my latest haul. Was it wise? I have no idea. That will probably reveal itself to me in a moment.
At least I have struck at a special offer. The pain of a bad purchase can thus be diminished a little bit. I hope. I hope very much.

I can not cut open the package fast enough. Positively, I notice first of all that the perfumery has packed me nicely equal to four samples. I'll take care of that later.
My actual perfume is well protected. Carefully I take it out of the package. Free it from the plastic wrap. Now the really noble black-gold packaging stands before me. The most expensive perfume that I have ever afforded - so far.
As a newbie, I'm just starting to explore the expensive niche fragrances. With "Baccarat Rouge 540" I have also only struck at a special offer and also only allowed me the small travel set. "Athalia" - finally - you're there. Still fast the cover off. And then sniff ...

The first thing that strikes me is how intense the cap smells without having sprayed so far. Smells nice powerful strong and intense. The first spray and BOOM. Without warning. Immediately the sacral powdered sugar bomb goes off.
The bitter orange I do not smell out. Instead, the incense envelops the rose - not tenderly - not gently, but demanding and demanding. Ohhhhhhhh, what a scent?! The rose incense powder blend is simply heavenly. It overwhelms me. And - I let myself fall.

Associations of one of my few church visits come up. As a little girl, I went on pilgrimage with the Catholic part of my family to a small chapel at Easter. It is located on a hill in a small farming village in Carinthia. Everything was very devout. Inside the chapel, a man dressed in long black and white robes strode through the narrow aisles. In his hands was a censer. He waved it back and forth until the whole chapel was enveloped in the clouds of incense that smelled suspiciously like "Athalia". This fragrance named after a pagan queen in a church. What a sacrilege.

But the decisive something was missing in the church at that time. This sensuality that "Athalia" exudes. Sensuality coupled with sexiness - barely held in check by the powdery iris and the warm orange blossom. I languish. Fogged by these fragrances, I fear I can only babble stupid stuff. Again I sniff my wrist. I cannot stop. No, I don't want to stop. Addicted. It makes me addicted.
Even though I don't identify cashmeran, suede and vetiver. Do the amber and vanilla embrace the rest of the fragrance notes and ground the incense so it can't dissipate. Only slowly do the fragrance notes ebb away. This durability and sillage are fantastic.

I will protect this fragrance like my secret treasure. Meeeeeeeeeeeinnnnnnnn shaaaaaaaaaattzzz. Mine, mine, mine!

Bottom line, you have to love incense with this scent. Not just a little bit. But him really and truly love. He is just too overwhelming.

Who can wear this fragrance? For me, a fragrance for "more mature" women. Clearly a going out fragrance. The fragrance for a queen - proud, beautiful and confident. Sounds like a cliché - yes.
So what!

P.S. You can certainly imagine that I did not regret the blind purchase. :-)

Unexpectedly different - a branch with green leaves and white flowers
Oh - while I'm spraying my wrist with the Sintra sample, an intense green rush of fragrance shoots out . What is that? Not freshly mown grass. No. Something almost a little pungent scratches my nose. Like a fresh woody - no - leafy scent. A branch of lush green leaves. Then the full blast of fresh white flowers. Overwhelming.
Slowly, the fragrance cloud calms down and individual fragrance components make themselves known. Especially the bergamot and jasmine, wrapped with the soft orange blossom, come to the fore.
It becomes warm. Warmer. Warmer and cozier. I don't smell the bergamot anymore. I think the base is making its presence felt. The vanilla and caramel still subtly mixed with the green and woody components are slowly taking over. The orange blossom is still subtly there too. Now it becomes fine.
A fusion to a single fragrance chord, which makes the individual scents no longer recognizable. The fragrance approaches very gently my original expectation. Expected I have something similar to "Love don't be shy". But it is for me only very far similar to two islands that belong to the same archipelago, but one is tropically warm and the other spring-like fresh.
Will this fragrance move in with me? Honestly, I don't know yet. It's nice, if a bit intensely green at first. Somehow I still do not know what to do with Sintra. So I'll keep on sniffing it. Maybe it will be love at second sight. Who knows?

Of peacocks and fruit cocktails
To my purchase of "Bella" of RP I received this small sample of the same brand. Since he is to be similar to a strongly hyped fragrance at the moment, I thought to test this once - especially since "Bella" has absolutely 'flashed' me.

So go:
First comes a cloud of fruit notes on me. I can't manage to tell the individual top notes apart. Everything is woven together into a fruity sweet cocktail.
But there is something else - something powdery. I sift through the fragrance notes. What is it that I perceive as so powdery? I can not say. Maybe the base with its musk-vanilla mixture already shows itself?

But after a while, the wonderful indefinable powdery something makes way for a baroque sweetness. Now the fruit cocktail unfolds to its full glory. A coquettish peacock that beats his wheel for his beloved.
Patiently I continue to sniff my wrist and am rewarded. I can finally smell out the musk. Hm, I love these soft fine musk notes. Vanilla and sandalwood join in. All very fine and elegant.
I honestly can't smell out the floral notes and I also have a hard time with the spicy patchouli. My impression is that these notes are deeply interwoven and thus not at all prominent hervortreten.

The durability and sillage I feel as good. Quite different my husband - for him, the fragrance is heavy and extremely long-lasting. I think everyone feels that a little differently.

On the whole, it is particularly difficult for me to grasp individual notes in this fragrance. This may be due to my still untrained nose.

I do not know the original. But this fragrance is beautiful and although I'm not so much on fruity scents, I'm thinking of buying this. Too tempting is the idea in a trendy cocktail bar to sit outside in the open air and sip a slightly different - exclusive - multivitamin juice cocktail, while incidentally a small proud peacock shows his magnificent plumage

Of flies and pink hearts
Hello, I'm the new girl and I'm venturing out to write my first review:

Neither the lemon nor the bergamot of the top note I can smell out. The first thing that blows me when spraying on is a warm spicy breeze that I fell in love with. No delicate long foreplay, but BÄM and instant pink hearts before my eyes. The fresh components are completely swallowed up by the warm spice. That's probably from the patchouli. A blend of orange blossom and vanilla also caresses me. Delicately held together by the amber. At least I think so. Simply WOW. This must be love at first sniff.

But oh shock! This is just a tiny little sample - a sample - which I have already received weeks ago. This little treasure slumbered unnoticed and unnoticed with me around. I must confess, the name "Bella" didn't really appeal to me.

Until a few days ago, during my home office lunch break, I got the crazy idea to sweeten up my work a bit. Do something about the stress and anger. So why not test scents - a sort of substitute for aromatherapy.

Have I mentioned how deliciously sweet this scent is? Intense, warm, sensual like caressing powdered sugar. Hm - delicious. A little later, the amber also comes out more. Everything becomes more tender and softer - the spiciness slowly fades.

Now what can I say? I was - I correct myself - I am addicted to the fragrance. Consequently, immediately ordered and bought. And because this fragrance just won't let me go, I started researching. I just want to learn everything about the fragrance.

On the Internet it is mentioned that the fragrances of RP remind of "vibes" of well-known perfumes. I immediately thought of "La Vie est belle" because of the name. So got out my sample of it and sniffed it extensively. And? No, I couldn't see much of a resemblance. "LVEB" is much lighter and more floral. The depth and warmth is missing here for me. So I researched further.

According to a French shopping site, "Bella" is supposed to contain vibes of "Magic" from "Al-Jazeera".
Unfortunately, since I don't know this "Magic", I can't verify this at the moment.

So I tried my hand at comparing the scents of "Magic" and "Bella". But again, I did not get anywhere. There are pretty much no similarities. As a newbie, I now leave the field to the experienced sniffers with a heavy heart.

Conclusion:
Even if I should find out nothing more, this fragrance just captured me with its deep dark oriental sweetness. Like one of those carnivorous plants that lures the poor flies with beguiling scents. Just hopelessly entangled.

"Hm, how that smells - so delicious" thinks the little ignorant fly with the thousands of pink hearts in his eyes....
