Day by the sea
Surprise, this Idôle. Two compliments on the very first day, that doesn't happen very often. And it lends a certain buoyant cheerfulness without being superficial. Very French!

The vibe is sunny, salty-sweet rays of sunshine meet warm skin, just like when, after a dip in the sea, you let your skin, previously creamed with a good, slightly sweet sun cream, dry on a freshly washed towel (traces of musk) in the fresh, but not cold air. Traces of rose water, jasmine (slightly green) and that fresh, mild breeze again, like the scent of shampoo that reaches you when your hair flutters around your face.
Very feminine and pleasant, never too dense or syrupy. The sweetness of the vanilla and heliotrope is well cushioned by the fine, white, dry salt and fresh petal notes.
Beautiful progression, non-linear although you already grasp all the notes after spraying it on, they develop with varying intensity during wear, iridesce and have very good longevity without being suffocating. An absolute surprise for me, as the original Idôle always lacked something in terms of depth or longevity or the
Unique selling point was missing, which I find here.
Please test on skin and not on paper.
Big difference.

Life is better at the beach
Finally tried the La Vie est Belle Soleil Cristal today. And it's really nice. A summery version of the original, less sweet, even slightly salty (I prefer it to J'adore in Joy, it goes slightly in the direction of Olympéa Intense but it's gentler) and very ylang ylang. The mandarin gives it a fresh touch and the vanilla is tropical and the whole impression is beachy but in an elegant way. I'd say I like this even more than LVEB la Vie en Rose, which has been my LVEB favorite so far. If you miss Womanity, you should try it at least once. Nice!!!

So real - Surreal
You can not really stroll, stray, strawanzen, well, that is, you can, but not in the department stores and perfumeries. And since I needed today anyway also still a few haberdashery (what a beautiful old-fashioned word!), I'm times driven to the larger Dorgeriemarkt, which unlike my small market here in the vicinity also has a somewhat broader (drugstore) perfume selection.
So I looked what everything is new there (not really much, a new Laura, in pink and a new white / yellow La Rive) what everything is on sale or clearance (some of Betty Barclay) and what else they have so there.
That's where I see Cheap and Chic range, all only in 30ml each and way down on the shelf. I love love and So real lowered in price, the Olivia not. I test as the two blue and know I love love actually, it always reminds me of Light Blue or Desigual Fresh, nice, but I have something like that already, so on to the So Real.

Surreal, so seems to me already the flacon, asymmetrical, the winking eye, the colorful glass flacon, I do not find them tasteless, I find them funny and they have the courage to self-irony. The many small symbols, I am directly reminded of a cheerful Picasso or a mischievous Dalí.
Spain, Italy, lightness, vacation, dolce vita and lemon blossom scent, I'm just on a little trip in my head again.

Sprayed on, fresh and citrusy but slightly fruitier than the I love love, without becoming a fruit salad, we remain here a refreshing water, very Italian-invigorating and full of cheerfulness. I'm particularly taken with the redcurrant. Later a little more flowery, fragrant, peony but discreet, my dear jasmine, fresh and green, a few light woods, a little oak moss in the base, why not? That harmonizes quite wonderfully with the bitter orange.

So real, I call it surreal... because I can use a little escape from the daily grind... this is a fresh bright yellow ray of sunshine in the blue early spring sky, a little pink cloud and a breeze of confidence, courage and optimism wafting towards me. Purchased.

Port de Soller
My association with Laura is forever connected with the sea, Spain and joie de vivre, mild summer heat, due to a wonderful trip to Port de Soller. Mallorca has a bad reputation, but in the low season and off the beaten track... well, you know what I mean.
Anyway, once I was in late summer or early autumn, it was warm October on a beautiful afternoon in Soller, we took the little train to Port de Soller and drifted around, walked along the bay and found a cute little beach café where we stopped for a break. And there, in the anteroom of the toilet, there were hygienic products as well as a bottle of "Laura" to refresh the female guests. After my perfume was no longer perceptible and the mermaid treasure bottle with its nostalgic-romantic bulbous shape and the light blue glass stopper (that's how it looked) magically attracted me, I tested the fragrance on my forearm.
Back at the table I felt as if it was exactly what was missing, the light breeze absorbed the fruity components of melon and peach, after a while the soft sandalwood came out and a peaceful, also sensual and happy aura surrounded me.

Laura is nothing "big". Laura is an uncomplicated summer scent, it breathes more than it lingers, but it lasts longer than you realize. Jasmine and musk make it sticky, the melon or the peach note also has something "champagne-like" to me, I can't be more precise, like a sparkling glass of cool cava.

I don't perceive Amber, and I don't perceive the carnation.

Aquatic, fruity, light and fresh with a sensual base, this is Laura.
An ever-walker and a little fantasy trip included.

Head over heels
Now I decided to write a comment in addition to the statement, because the fragrance just flashed me so.
I have to preface this by saying that as a high school student in the 90s, I was a fan of the first hour of SUN EdT, the iconic sun scent in the white bottle. Sunscreen, summer bathing, Italy, soft ice cream and good vibes. I had never smelled anything this good before, I wore it all the time, the old one was powerful after all, I didn't have much pocket money so my little 30 ml bottle lasted forever. The deodorant I also liked to use, just as intense and just feel good.

Fast forward to the 2000s: SUN is still there, smelled quite often, on many people and often overdosed. I still like it but I no longer have a bottle, he is me, perhaps also because of the Helioptrops, which I like but which can be slightly suffocating, just often "too much".

Now I read here the very first good reviews for the new EdP, go in the afternoon after work still quickly past in the perfumery, actually to test the limited summer 2020 SUN, which, by the way, is so far the best summer flanker for SUN, coconut water and the feeling that one wears after a beach day on the skin, fresh and very light, but at the price you can spray after yes more often, very well suited for sultry hot days and reminds me strongly of "Miami Glow" by J Lo. But that's just by the way - so I'll test the Summer2020, take the bottle too and then still look for the new EdP. I imagine that it must be even heavier than the EdT and I'm skeptical, but testing can be done.

The first impression is orange, I think well, pure orange I do not need now, and then he is there: the broom! In the notes it is called "Pfriemenginster Absolue" (Spartium junceum), also called rush broom or Spanish broom. This one does it for me! You know that scent that's behind the sea in the dunes in the summer? That's exactly the smell it captures for me here.
Other notes that I find dominant: amyris (sandalwood-like), orange blossom, of course, which must not be missing in SUN, it draws but for the felt / associated "sunscreen accord" responsible, benzoin and a peppery spicy note. What surprises after some time is that something "mineral" appears, not salty, not "stony", as in Terre, more like the mineral note in "Arizona". This note is rather fresh, but lasts very long and is still very recognizable the next morning. Is that the carrot seeds?
What is not there: heliotrope, the benzoin is also quite enough to create a lovely sweetness, the jasmine contributes sicherich also.

Overall, I must confess, this is the most beautiful "new" Sun I have ever smelled. Price-performance ratio very good and I am positively surprised, this SUN is a real innovation and I think, hope that it becomes a success.

Who loves the sweet heaviness of the EdT, will find here a refreshing counterpart that remains true to the original character, who exactly this can not smell (more), will find an alternative that is not just a flanker, but a real development.

Edit: unfortunately, many still compare with the white "old" Sun EdT and are then disappointed. It is an eigenständigsr, completely new fragrance, you have to know beforehand.
