Oh Italia
I once took the ferry from Naples to Ischia, on the way to the long-awaited island holiday it was the last leg. Passing Procida I went in about one hour to the flower island in the gulf of Naples. And the smell when we arrived there, that was it! (I wore MAgie Noire, so it was not me who spread the perfume) I used to love to wear the "old" Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme (1992 version), affectionately called "red cap", and now I have recently rediscovered the new edition of 2012 or dared to give it a new chance. It's not the same, but similar, it captures the mood, that certain Italian something, that warm femininity, a mixture of elegance and sensuality and - forgive me the profanity: kitchen herbs - some of the waxy heaviness of the old version has disappeared, but I was pleased and surprised to find something of my also missing and equally beloved Sicily again, honeysuckle is not mentioned, so it probably won't be (but maybe it's included anyway....), so I suspect the combination of heliotrope, jasmine and sandalwood to have something in common.

Orange blossoms give freshness, the sweet soft powder looks elegant, spices I think I can recognize, up to the herbalism, sweet almond biscuits, some sandalwood in the base.
A warm evening in summer or a cool winter afternoon, it always fits!
Italian elegance, lots of temperament and warmth that gives a lot of security. Feminine!

I have not regretted the new beginning and I reach for this "all round" more often than I thought.

Love at second glance
At first it was too loud for me. Tried it in autumn, during a short holiday in Holland it was omnipresent. Then felt as too loud and penetrating, put ad acta. Today then, actually on the way to test The Only One Intense, Libre came to my mind again. Desire for an intense white orange blossom, with herbaceous and tart lavender, musk, vanilla and wood. I tested it again and then the purchase decision was made quickly.

Again and again I thought about what he reminds me of. I've been to Joop and Otto Kern's NoaNoa (does anyone else know him?) and now I'm reading here: D&G Femme, the old version. Right! This 90s wummser, which I loved to wear and which always reminded me of egoists in some notes... but I digress.

Sillage is still suitable for office use but is well visible, the shelf life is very good.
I like the warmth that develops after about an hour, the initial freshness makes it a candidate for the warmer temperatures I have been longing for

Aprés-midi
Easy.
A summer day. Windy. It is warm. The heat does not come until later in the afternoon. On the way to the water, between the dunes, pale dry grass. On the way to the water on a terrace made of dry, sun- and wind tanned wood. There you can have a refreshing drink first. Eau au Citron. Or a gin and tonic. My clothes are next to me on the floor, I'm already barefoot. The bag made of dried palm leaf, with the thin leather straps I bought in the village I visited, deeper in the countryside, memories of the sleepy afternoon mood, deep shade between old stone houses, white sheets convey coolness. It's always windy here... Lavender herb and blowing leaves, summer is already over its zenith. Then I set off, over the warm sand, towards the water, mineral scent wafting around me from the sea. No tourists.

Come on, goblin!
He's here!! Dear Turandot told me where he is and today he arrived! The EdP understands.
And it's wonderful!
I love this woody, herbaceous freshness and can imagine him in every season. Spices and warmth in winter, green wildness in summer - and always understated and elegant. It's an eye-catcher for the nose. The old version, which I unfortunately only owned as a bottling, is reproduced in a new form, there is no back but the forward is and faithfully implemented.
To the new edition I can only say: successful and irresistibly beautiful!

The leather is wearable and soft, wild galbanum, strong flowers, mild sandalwood in the base. Dark green velvet, fresh green woods and dry wood, a breath of flowers. Warm skin.
Azuree, Miss Dior, Aromatics Elixir, if that hits a nerve, definitely try the new (good old) Cabochard!

Ur tincture
The most bitter, spicy, impressive, most loved, most hated perfume on the planet. Its wearers are either anosmic (and accordingly it is overdosed), then it attracts negative attention, is loud and almost rude, or they wear it like a veil, are aware of the magical powers and let it seep deeply and gently into their environment.
My first attempt with Aromatics Elixir took place in midsummer. Big city, noise, dust, people, fumes, dirt. I put on the EdT (!) in Karstadt at Herrmannplatz and was enchanted. Like a protective cocoon I am surrounded by silence, almost meditative pausing and my muscle tension is released, as is my irritation. Instant wellbeing!
Then further attempts with the EdP ("Perfume"), and here the dose constitutes the magic. One sprayer too many and you're over it. I dabbed it on at first, used a mudflat swab as a carrier. You can also spray it into the air and walk through it. I particularly like the minis (4 ml), which have a very small spray head, here then spraying goes flawlessly. I love the scent in winter because it envelops me in cosy, cuddly herbal and spice melange and I love it in summer because it cools and centers through its aromatherapeutic effect. Personally I also find it very sensual, patchouli and tuberose, ylang and sandalwood are in my opinion very erotic in their scent. I can only recommend to everyone who doesn't dare to go for it because he or she might associate his or her (bad) experiences with the name with the overdose carrier to sniff at the bottle like a smelling bottle and to feel this beneficial effect. I swear by this almost therapeutic scent even in the case of inner restlessness. A masterpiece!
For me the primordial mother of all Chypres (although only 1971 created).
Am I the only one who can smell cinnamon?
Allegedly one of the most popular women's fragrances in the Mediterranean (it makes itself surprisingly good in the heat - rationally dosed -).
