The story with Tom and the sun
Yes what can I say, I like Tom Ford fragrances.

Alas.

Because the pricing and the durability often leave much to be desired. That's why I own only Lost Cherry and Black Orchid as a bottle and a few others again and again in alternation as a bottling or sample.

Soleil Brûlant so. Tom Ford seems to like the sun yes, is not the first fragrance with him "Soleil" in the name. I'm not really a fan of when perfume houses try to reinvent one of their perfumes over and over again or make some kind of collection out of it, because often the fragrances then smell somehow always like the original, just with ner additional note. I don't like that.
However, here only the bergamot is the same as in Soleil Blanc and even so I do not really recognize parallels. An independent fragrance, so to speak.

Let's move on to the opening. The first thing I notice is the pepper and tangerine. A lot of pepper. Almost too much, but just scraped the curve by the sweet tangerine. In fact, I had expected something completely different by the bottle design and the name, more in the direction of "Scandal | Jean Paul Gaultier" by the honey and the citrus, more gourmand, so to speak. The is but initially not so.
After half an hour comes good incense and honey to the fore, the slightly acrid pepper smell is then already gone. From then on it goes then also rather in the expected gourmand direction. Sunscreen I smell thereby not at all out, but I always use rather tropical-scented sunscreens.

Overall, a nice fragrance, I like the combination of incense and honey, such as in "Oud de Carthage | Boucheron" , so I find it quite portable and pleasant.
The durability I also find better succeeded than in some other Tom Ford perfumes, but the fragrance is definitely not room-filling.
Whether he will move in with me, however, in the bottle? Probably rather not, for that he is just too expensive for me, because I stay first with my filling

Actually
Actually, I am not so the fan of rose perfumes. Hidden in there somewhere like, the mixture makes it, but usually I always give samples of rose perfumes to my mom. Actually.

Actually, the rose is still my favorite flower, I even wear it as a tattoo. Weird, I know, but the scent of the fresh rose is just a different one for me than in most perfumes. Actually.

And actually I had ordered the bottling for my mom, I like to do that sometimes, like "L'eau À la Rose | Maison Francis Kurkdjian" or "Crystal Flowers | Montale" , two of her favorites. Actually.

You can probably already guess how this review ends.

Before I give the bottlings to my mom, I always treat myself to a sample sniff. Portrait of a Lady so, my first associations with it are ladies from the time Baroque, sitting still to be painted. Portrait of a Lady just.
And so I sprayed me the good piece on.

Actually, now would come the part where I think to myself, "Yes, typical rose perfume, just right for Mom".
But it didn't come.

Portrait of a Lady is for me just not the normal classic rose fragrance, but much more. An adult rose that was broken off and once beautifully bathed in incense and breaded with pepper, clove and patchouli. Adult and mysterious, floral but with a certain punch.

Actually, a rose scent nonetheless.
Actually.

Langnese Advertising 2000
Yes, I really had to think about that when I smelled Sundazed for the first time. Outdoor pool in early 2000, beautiful at the kiosk to study the menu card of Langnese and then but as usual a Capri ice cream for a mark.

Sundazed is not the usual summer sunscreen fragrance, also no Piña Colada with coconut, but a sweet lemonade that refreshes. In the opening dominate for me here the tangerine and lemon, later join neroli and cotton candy.
By the citrus can of course associations with toilet cleaners are evoked, but personally this fragrance does not remind me of it, because I smell here rather the tangerine and cotton candy herrausrieche, than the lemon.
A good comparison fragrance for Sundazed is, in my opinion, Sun Song by Louis Vuitton. For me personally, the two smell almost identical, Byredo but a little sweeter by the cotton candy and Sun Song for it more tart.

Who has a desire for a fruity, sweet, but also tangy summer fragrance, Sundazed should definitely try. All in all, a good mood fragrance

I finally got you back
It's 2014, I'm in an H&M shop and discover a new range of body sprays and perfumes, Darling Deep was the name of the range to be more specific. I sprayed some of the tester of the purple body spray on my wrist and sniffed. Wow, I thought to myself, smells amazingly good for a body spray from a fashion chain, so grown up and not "cheap" at all. I took it home and used up the 200ml completely over the next two years, even though the last 10ml had sadly tipped. That was it, I thought to myself, never again will I be able to smell this great fragrance.

We are now back in 2021, once again looking for new perfume discoveries. And that's when it hit me like a flash of inspiration. What actually happened to my beloved H&M body spray and what was it called again? Thanks to Google color-image search (the bottle was purple), I was actually able to track down the name of the 2014 spray and even came across a single website with a listed dupe for it - Manifesto by YSL. No ratings or reviews, just this one dupe suggestion and the notes.

Normally at this point I would have immediately gone to town and tested the perfume, but yeah, Corona.
Somehow, in April, I apparently wasn't the only one who wanted to buy Manifesto either, I only found it in stock on one website. Unsure if it might not have been discontinued, I ended up clicking the buy button. If I didn't like it, I could always sell it again.

Well, a few days later it had arrived, I unpacked the perfume and paused briefly. For a long time I had been looking for the scent of the said body spray, but never found anything comparable.
I pressed the spray head twice.

It's you. The scent I loved so much, only a little more subtle and sophisticated. Blackcurrant meets white floral meets vanilla. An interesting combo that works. Noble and slightly powdery, but still fruity and fresh.
Never would I have thought that the body spray was actually a dupe for a YSL perfume and the happier I am that I can finally wear this fragrance again.

This is how it must begin
Beachwalk was the first fragrance that invited me into the world of niche fragrances. A bit like the first friend. Until then, Juicy Couture was my daily companion, or sometimes the one or the other perfume from the drugstore or the turquoise perfume chain. On said day, however, in a said department store in Munich, I caught sight of the bottle in the perfume department.

"Beach Walk" so, I'm curious, that can not smell so. With perfumes there are but only floral or tart ?
Yes, I actually thought that?
I sprayed something on my wrist and even before I put the bottle down, she came. The ocean breeze, the sand, the sun. 2002 in Miami Beach, building sandcastles on the beach and drinking lemonade. Bought.

Beach Walk is a really nice, creamy summer scent, not too intrusive but already with that certain something. Reminds of a mixture of light sunscreen, coconut, sea and sun. I always say, if you had to put the beach in a bottle, it would be this one.
But for me, unfortunately, also only an absolute summer fragrance, on cold days it somehow loses its charm.
But for the hot days of the year exactly what I want to smell and what I want to smell
