gourmandy floral / flowery gourmand
Every time I wear this fragrance, I love it more and more! The most prominent note is cacao, strengthened by the vanilla. There's also a powdery flower (I guess that's the lily) that's especially noticeable during the opening, causing me to think it might be too feminine. Luckily the flowers go to the background during the drydown and the cacao and vanille becoming more lively, making it unisex again. I don't really get the cinnamon or the cardamom, so this doesn't qualify as spicy. More like a gourmandy floral (or a flowery gourmand since the cacao and vanilla are more prominent).

This perfume is inspired by the rhythm of latin music, and I get that. So when you're going dancing (especially if it's a rumba, samba or paso doble), be sure to wear this ;) The exercise will increase your body heat and thus augment the projection of this lovely scent!

Not as good as the original
Luna Rossa is my signature, so I was very much looking forward to this one. But it doesn't have the "magic" the original had for me. I'm not talking longevity or sillage, just the scent itself.

Extreme starts off with peppery lavender. The lavender is also the only note that it shares with the original Luna Rossa. Anyways, off the bat it reminded me a lot of L'Occitan by L'Occitane En Provence, which is also peppery lavender. But as it dries down, the Luna Rossa vibe comes through, as well as some sweetness from the juniper berries (and vanilla, but I can't isolate that note). It becomes this amber-y sweet-spicy lavender in the end.

When people said that Luna Rossa was "nothing special", I never understood that because it worked so well with my skin. With the Extreme however, I completely understand! It just doesn't do anything for me. Truth be told, I did find the combination of lavender with both pepper and sweet notes pretty weird while reading about this scent before I tried it. I guess I'll have to stick with one or the other instead of mixing them.

Also, despite it being called Extreme, it doesn't seem to have a bigger longevity or sillage on me...

Overall, it's a nice scent, but I'm not putting it on my buy list.

Spicy vanilla cake, yum!
Hooo man this scent! Tried it out in the store after seeing it being recommended on the forums by someone. After sniffing it on the paper strip, I HAD to spray it on my arm!

In the opening it's a lot cardamom and pepper, so very spicy. Then it dries down to this creamy scent (no idea what makes it so creamy, I'm guessing the beeswax with the amber and benzoin). Some people talk about a cake smell, and I totally get that as well. But it's a cake smell with spices (as mentionned, kardemom and pepper) to keep it manly. When it has settled for a while, the tobacco starts to take over, so it starts to lean more towards Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille at that point..

Short-lived citrus and lavender
A very fresh citrus scent. When applying, there's an explosion of citrus fruits (orange, bergamot and lemon) with a hint of lavender.

After a couple of hours the background of sandalwood (and I'm guessing cedar) pushes through a bit more and the citrus takes a step back. So it becomes more of a lavender-woody scent, with some citrus thrown in. Unfortunately by that time, it hardly projects at all ... But it's an EdC, so it's to be expected I guess.

All in all, this is a very nice summery cologne smell, but you definitely need a decant for reapplication on the road ;)

All-seasons citrus scent
Chanel classifies this as a woody aromatic, but it's more like a spicy citrus (on a woody base). A citrus you can wear all year round, which I believe is quite rare. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :)

When you spray it on, you get hit hard by the grapefruit and lemon. After a while the other notes come out to play, but the citrusy vibe stays dominant throughout. I'm not 100% sure of those other notes that I'm getting, but I THINK it's incense, ginger and pink pepper, with the sandelwood as a base.

To me this is an office scent mostly, but it's perfectly fine to be used for casual wear as well.

People might say it's generic, but I prefer it over other popular citruses I've tried (Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche and Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey). They just smell like boring lemon. Bleu does not, which instantly makes it better for me.
