First blue fragrance and the best one!
When I discovered my passion in fragrances, as a typical beginner I adored citrusy-fresh scents. I was not interested in green, sweet, tobacco, I wanted fresh, citrus, clean, mass-pleasing! And that`s how I discovered 2 fragrances: Dior Sauvage EDT and Chanel Bleu de Chanel EDP. Everybody here in Czech Republic bought Dior (Johnny Depp is a selling factor, right?) but my nose was more intrigued by Chanel. The zesty opening, the slightly smoky mid and the beautiful drydown of sandalwood and touch of vanilla. I was decided, I will buy (once I have enough money) Chanel... And then the Parfum version was released.

I had teststrips and sprays on my hands, I sniffed them both all day (or let`s say 5 hours, that`s all BdC lasts on my skin strong enough to make the opinion) and I did not know which I one I should choose. The final decision came in duty free shop in Hong Kong, the Parfum version cost there the same as EDP so I grabbed a bottle!

WHAT A SCENT!!!

Beautiful opening of lemon zest, slight mint and incense that is so elegant and sexy I would have a crush on myself every time I wear it. Once it starts to dry down, the incense, vanilla and sandalwood start to be present together with lemon (or is it grapefruit?) and it matures a bit. However that`s when the scent shines even more I would say. And the drydown... Never smelled a better sandalwood in fragrance, so luxurious, so expensive smelling. This one is a must in terms of scent.

In terms of projection, that is a different story. If you pay 160 USD for 100ml, you expect at least 8 hours of longevity (well, I do), but that is not happening here. 1-2 hours of mediocre projection and 5-6 hours of longevity with slight sniffs of sandalwood after 7th hour. That is the possible downside of this fragrance.

Do I regret the purchase? HELL NO! Will I buy another bottle? I do not know, blue fragrances are everywhere and I found myself not reaching for it that much anymore, but it may be psychological as I am in my last third of the bottle which is still up to this point the most expensive fragrance I ever bought (even more expensive than Creed I own). But most probably I will, I so much like the scent profile that I would personally miss it if it would not be in my collection... Can I recommend this one in 2020? That is up to you - if you like blue scents, have enough money and you do not have any BdC, go ahead and buy it.

Gentlemanly
My 2nd proper niche fragrance, my 1st niche fragrance my wife hate. Truth is you have to have some prepositions to wear this:

- You have to be over 30
- You have to wear a suit
- You have to be in a proper society/event
- You must like neroli

And you have to be OK with animalic notes! This scent is not fun, it is proper gentlemanly fragrance with extremely strong neroli notes and somewhere in the background, oakmoss as well which makes it somehow more animalic than Kouros (in a different way but hope you know what I mean)

Truth is, I only check one item from the list - I like neroli, but still, this is magical. The weather must be under 20 degrees Celsius (yet over 5) then the fragrances is the best. Therefore great for spring and fall, OK for cooler summer evenings and for high society events.

Try before you buy!!!

Cheap Aventus done right
When I started to collect fragrances, I was in the middle of my wedding preparations. I knew what I want to wear - just the best of the best, Creed Aventus. The fragrance was love at first sight - pineapple, blackcurrant, birch, I was mesmerized.

And broke :D . So I looked for the alternative which would remind me this special day and was happy when I found out Armaf makes a great alternative. I bought it for slightly higher price (35 EUR/105ml) however much better than 350 EUR for the original King, right?

I will not write anything new - synthetic opening (toilet cleaner), fruity mid and smoky drydown, great performance (based on a batch you have - I have a good one apparently) everybody knows that. I want you to know something else - everytime I wear it I feel myself back at my wedding - blessed, very happy, well looking, in love with my wife. And that`s what I want from the fragrance - to remind me a memory, no matter if good or bad, but a memory. And this makes it brilliantly. DO I want original Aventus? Yes! Do I need original Aventus? Not really, this is such a great dupe that it won`t make any sense to have it. I do not expect to have second wedding ever :)

Dior Sauvage for grown-ups!
I have never smelled Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum 2012 version. I just keep hearing and reading that it was much better than 2017 version. So I checked the websites, heard all the comments and reviews and decided to buy it.

Now I have to confess - 80 % of my fragrances were bought blindly. I like the moment it arrives and I do sort of know what to expect but still it is a pleasant surprise to feel the fragrance for the first time and knowing I made the right purchase. So when Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum arrived I was excited...

...And then dissapointed. Is this it? I sprayed it on my hand, and I all I could fell was a candided lemon. It fell dated, synthetic and boring. I decided to wait and went to work. After 2 hours the magic started to happen. Lemon slightly faded and resinous notes were pushing forward! WOW, that`s something! Dark, warm, slightly creamy and extremely elegant. I finally understood to all the reviews - this fragrance is amazing. Whenever I want to make a business statement I wear this. When I want to feel like a boss I wear this...

Eau Sauvage Parfum is not for younger crowd, it lack the fun of Dior Sauvage EDT/EDP, but that doesn`t mean it does not deserve it`s place on the market. Actually I believe that for managers (35+) this must be preffered scent. Why? Well, this does not get dated, this will be amazing 10, 20 years later. Will Dior Sauvage? And how great has to be the 2012 version?

The unexpected friend
Bear in mind, this is my first proper review of the scent, thanks.

I have to tell you a secret: I always loved Dior Sauvage EDT, although I truly hated that everywhere I went I smelled this scent. Every second guy (young/old/hipster/manuequin) wears this and it annoyed me a lot in. However deep in my mind I wanted to own the smell, I wanted to feel fresh, elegant and cool at the same time, yet I wanted to smell a bit different so when somebody says: "Oh I know this scent," I would reply "Not exactly this one I believe".

So on February I saw a pretty good deal for EDP and I was decided - I will buy EDP instead of EDT. Why? I do not know till this date, but I know for sure I made a pretty good decision! I love the fragrance and people around me seem to like it a lot as well.

For me Dior Sauvage EDP starts very spicy actually - I feel anise, pepper and lavender at the beginning. A truly magnificent combo of notes which gives me, mixed with ambroxan, a high class feeling, This is not only about freshness and loudness, this is actually kind of classy. Elegant, clean, yet playful and fun. When the vanilla and more lavender comes in, the scent shines!!! You feel a lot synthetic ambroxan and some citruses, do not get me wrong. But I never feel like I am disgusting and choking people around me. I actually feel uplifting and spreading class. After 6-7 hours, all you feel is a pure ambroxan (or whiffs of it, the longevity and sillage are sometimes tricky) but don`t be fooled that the fragrance is completely gone. Actually I like to sniff my T-shirts even next day and the mixture of what I believe is lavender, pepper and ambroxan... It makes me believe that this is the mature scent I want to feel all the time.

Overall, this is (even though everybody wears EDT so it is really well known and people are tired of it) a true masterpiece in my opinion. I also tried Parfum version yet I still think EDP might be the best of all three... An unexpected friend that I always wanted yet always was afraid to have the same buddy as everybody else. But he doesn`t dissapoint, ever.
