Sharp and biting at first dab, a bright green hook that catches your nose. After the bite, Lauren unfurls a vast lawn of meditative herbs and flowers with lilac and clary sage being most dominant. This soft silver/purple haze of heart would never be as enchanting without the brutal opening. The pineapple is actually quite strong on my skin and this sweetness adds an essential accord, a compromise that brings the entire scent together, bridging the bitter and the floral calm without detracting from either. I don't think Lauren would work nearly so well without this touch of tang to round the edges... it humanises.
Woods play a supportive role - they don't feature until drydown and win only by attrition.

Lauren is a lesson in confidence and favourable contradiction. If you don't like it at first, wait for the heart where the bright green slap is less confrontational. The miniature I am testing from is vintage and possibly sun damaged, so I won't comment on sillage or longevity here.
Best suited for wear during the day, perfect for situations that require clarity of mind and heart. In a word, Lauren has "poise".

This perfume oil will make you want to eat your own arm right off! The first time I tried it my mouth started watering from the pure syrupy sweetness. I smell pineapple and red delicious amongst the listed notes, but the focus is indeed on lychee.

I would never wear this as a 'proper fragrance' as it's simply too sickly-sticky-sweet, but it's fun to put on around the house or going out for a walk. Always perks me up and makes me feel happier, a sunny smile in scent form. Unfortunately the oil is completely linear and so strong that it becomes obnoxious quickly. Anything more than small, occasional doses is too much. With this in mind, I consider Lychee Flower more akin to an aromatherapy scent than a perfume.

It's not an amazing perfume, but does it need to be? In a world of sensory overload sometimes I need a break, a kind of perfume "white noise" and that's what Lovely is to me. I find that when I'm recovering from a cold and I can't stand most of my usual perfumes because my nose turns them all harsh and screechy, I can still wear Lovely.

It's calm, acceptable, boring. Yes, boring, and in this rare case I don't mean that as a negative! Lovely is charmingly reliable and unadventurous in the same way a person can be, and to its credit it doesn't pretend to be otherwise. As a matter of fact, Lovely it stands out amongst other "classic" perfumes in that all her edges are neatly tucked away. It's hard to find fault if you can accept it for what it's trying to do.

Can you find art in the colour of cream, in the calm drone of white noise? Do you aim to be queen of the inoffensive?

Warm spices grounded in musky sweetness. An addictive comfort scent. Ladies, don't let the "Man" part of the name dissuade you: this scent is easily unisex.

Halloween Man is redolent of cinnamon pumpkin pie; primarily a mellowed cinnamon and ginger on a dense base of vanilla and musk. It avoids indolence due to a subtle undercurrent which peeks out during inhalation, more of a flavour than a scent; this is where the lavender hides, serving to tone the otherwise velvety/rough texture.

Sillage is great, but it's a thin line between "enough" and "cloying". Just one spray on each wrist is enough for a thick, opaque cocoon that will last the whole evening.
