In the elephant enclosure
After the long lockdown I'm finally back at the zoo. I enjoy the peace and quiet there and like to watch the animals. I'm particularly taken with the apes - and the elephants. When I arrive at the enclosure of these majestic animals, I have a few branches with leaves with me, which I offer to a baby elephant. It gladly takes them with its trunk, which touches my hand. The smell is interesting. It smells like leaves, but also a bit like dung. There is also something sweet. I like the smell and stroke the little one's trunk again before I leave.

"Elephant | Zoologist is a very pleasant scent. I can't identify all the notes given. I smell out the leaves and the tea, as well as a sweet note that could come from the cocoa.

But there is something else. This composition also has a slight animalic quality to me, which actually made me immediately think of elephants. And that's without any animalic notes. After the "Hyrax | Zoologist", it is thus for me the most authentic Zoologist for the animal that gives it its name.

It is a pity that the shelf life is quite short with me. Nevertheless, a test is worthwhile in any case. The sillage is ok.

Between light sweetness, nutmeg bomb and cold ashtray
I have a hard time with this fragrance. Not because it's bad in principle. I find him quite good. But he shows many facets that I like, but also one that I do not like so much.

The beginning is slightly fruity-sweet with me. Especially the apple I can smell out well. The Nepalese Oud goes unfortunately under, which I find very sad.

And then, after a few minutes, it goes off. But how! The fragrance becomes a nutmeg bomb. I've read reviews here expressing their displeasure with it. I like this twist, as I like nutmeg a lot. I also like to smoke nutmeg. You have to be a bit careful with this as the myristricin, daa elemicin which is also found in elemi resin, and safrole in it are psychoacriv and the myristicin in particular is highly liver toxic in large amounts. Consumption of larger quantities of nutmeg is therefore dangerous. That only in the margin.

So far, so good. After a while, the tobacco sets in. And I do not like it quite so well. Because to me it seems something like cold ashtray. It may be that the nutmeg and perhaps also the saffron contribute their part.

Then again, this impression settles, and it joins again sweeter notes, which makes the matter more pleasant.

Overall, however, "Red Tobacco | Mancera" is a wearable fragrance with a good durability and sillage, which takes a somewhat unpleasant interlude

A fantastic incense scent
Thanks to @Marieposa I was able to test "Copal Azur | Aedes de Venustas". This fragrance is a revelation! It is - with the exception of the pure essential oil especially the Hogari incense (Boswellia sacra) from Oman - the best incense fragrance I have ever smelled. But from the beginning.

Initially, I smell especially the maritime and ozonic notes. Even then, the scent is a delight. After a few minutes, however, the incense hits full force. And what an incense! I've only ever known this scent from an attar with high quality genuine Hogari incense (alternatively Hojari), for many the best incense in the world. It doesn't smell smoky as you might think of incense, but fresh, slightly citrusy and slightly minty. Incidentally, this is how it smells and tastes when carefully smoked, if you dare to eat it as a raw material, which you can do without hesitation, at least in the case of the green Hogari. I am therefore very sure that genuine hogari incense is used here. The scent is unmistakable. Who likes rather smoky incense, I recommend to test times Boswellia papyrifera from Ethiopia or Boswellia neglecta, bestals raw material for smoking.

And this distinctive aroma remains throughout the entire, quite good shelf life of the fragrance. Later join still a little the earthy or earth oil-like notes of patchouli us myrrh to it, but in each case very discreetly. The other notes remain inconspicuous, but what makes nothing at all, because you can enjoy the almost unadulterated incense.

"Copal Azur | Aedes de Venustas" has the potential to become one of my favorite fragrances, and will also move in with me in the foreseeable future because of its amazingly affordable price.

Summer rain on sweaty skin
We walked together through the warm summer rain. Arm in arm. The smell of your slightly sweaty jacket mingled with the scent of the rain. The aroma radiated security.

At last we had arrived at the swimming pool. Here, too, it was hot. The typical smell was in the air. Only the chlorine was hardly to smell.

We had the whole pool to ourselves. We took advantage of that and lay in the water for a very long time just in each other's arms. The scent of your unscented skin beguiled me. I just felt good.

After what felt like an eternity, we headed back. The rain had stopped, and the scent of security was gone. But I still smelled your wonderful skin as we strolled home - arm in arm again. I will not soon forget this unspectacular, but nevertheless beautiful day.

I wanted to test "Sécrétions Magnifiques | Etat Libre d'Orange" for a long time, because I like animalic scents very much and I was curious about this experiment. And yes, I admit, I was also a little scared.

Thanks to a sharing from @GreenSea, yesterday was finally the day. I held it in my hands. Immediately, I timidly sprayed a small splash on the hand and smelled death-defyingly it. My first impression was not disgust, but rather "what is THAT?". The fragrance immediately triggered pleasant feelings in me, but at first I could not assign them.

But then I saw images in front of my inner eye. The images of the story above, which changed according to the scent over the course of the day.

Without question, when I smell it directly, I can clearly smell out all the "evil" notes. For me, those are the blood, adrenaline, to which I attribute the somewhat sweaty impression, and the milk. The opoponax doesn't stand out, thankfully.... But even that is not at all unpleasant. Etat Libre d'Orange has, in my view, succeeded very well in creating a thoroughly pleasant olfactory impression from notes that, taken on their own, would probably be extremely unpleasant to most people. Especially in the sillage, which is neat like the durability, the fragrance is very pleasant, which I attribute mainly to the maritime notes. Respect!

He has disappointed me only in one respect. He was not the expected animalistic boss. So: Next, please! Do you have any suggestions?

I know I'm probably pretty much alone in this positive impression. But that doesn't matter.

A fantastic oud fragrance
I came across this fragrance on the recommendation of @Zergnase95, who kindly left me a small bottling. Many thanks for that!

Right up front: It is for me the best oud perfume that I have smelled so far. Only pure oud is even better. I am also sure that the oud here is real.

But from the beginning. Because the fragrance begins rather fruity-sweet. The apple sends its regards. However, rather in the form of an apple pie than a single apple. It is accompanied by the pepper, which gives the whole thing an interesting twist.

After a few minutes, however, the oud already sets in. And what for one! It is a very good, quite animalic oud. Here, cowshed meets a certain cheese note. Cheese in particular is also rather extreme for oud. Oud lovers who like this direction will get their money's worth here. However, who is rather on more pleasing sweetish Ouds, should be careful.

The remaining notes play for me rather the second fiddle, which suits me, because so the oud but very dominant.

Sillage and durability seem to be decent. Should my wallet allow it, he definitely comes into my collection.
