15 minutes of clothespin on the nose...
From then on it gets highly interesting, and "Sorry".... Unfortunately Horny.

I admit, I am a fan of the Sauvage series, and except for the EDT I have all in my collection, only the EDT is a little too scratchy for me, which is why I prefer to WRITER.
Now to the fragrance.
The top note is indeed exceedingly exhausting ... For me, this smells first and foremost extremely spicy... And intensely after licorice.
Since I knew that from the outset, I really only briefly after the aufprühen dran gerochen, and am leisurely strolled through the Expert.
Only a good 15 minutes after the aufprühen I have then dedicated myself to the fragrance.
And what can I say.... BARBERSHOP in conjunction with Sauvage EDP pulled me in the nose.
It was once something completely new and unknown.... And yet somehow familiar.
So a mixture of Yves saint laurent Rive Gauche pour Homme, and stop the well-known Sauvage DNA... Just great.
However, in my opinion, not a fragrance for guys.
I turned 40 a few weeks ago, and honestly have no problem wearing this fragrance.
Dior is clearly breaking new ground, away from sweet / spicy.... Powdery fragrances... Towards more masculinity.
Most recently it was Dior Homme 2020 which was completely out of line, and has been a permanent fixture in my collection for 1 year.
Durability and sillage are quite strong, and the atomizer is insane.
Absolutely extensively test I recommend here.

The woodcutter in a custom-made suit !
Had it been ONLY according to the reviews here, I would probably NEVER have gotten to know this fragrance, but luckily I got a sample of this fragrance a few weeks ago
The top note belongs for me probably to the best ...(in the woody segment), what I have ever smelled !!!!
Citrus fresh / woody ...and at the beginning minimally spicy .
The fragrance is the hammer ... and the drydown is wonderfully spicy / woody .
No sweet / sticky mainstream, but a masculine / noble men's fragrance that is addictive
If only it were a little stronger ...it would be my new signature scent !
The Sillage is unfortunately VERY restrained ....and yet it is quite good from the projection point of view .
I think my environment perceives it better than I do, that is at least my first experience after just 3 days .......because I have already been approached 3 times about this fragrance
The durability on the skin is about 6 hours .... on a shirt loosely 2 days .
My advice here is to simply test it ... I don't know the original, by the way

In search of the special scent ....
...I stumbled across my old signature scent yesterday by accident... ...that I had thought for years I would NEVER be able to smell again
But from the front ........
It is the year 2003, I ... who was just 22 years old, was on holiday in southern Germany
In any city, in any perfumery I bought any perfume .......IMPORTANT on this holiday was ONLY this sample of RIVE GAUCHE that they gave me ......the rest of the day I spent to find a perfumery, which has this new fragrance in the assortment
From the first second I was hooked on this perfume .... I just had to have it, no matter what it costs
For many years it was MY fragrance, and I have been asked about this perfume dozens of times

In 2011 the fragrance has been relaunched ......which I only found out years later .......and again I had bad luck, because again it was simply not possible to get to this fragrance
And if it does, then at utopian prices :(
Yesterday I was again in the City Gallery, where Douglas & Müller are only a few meters apart, looking for the special .
I had written several scents on my flag .... and I didn't really want to go to Müller .... one scent was from Yves Saint Laurent ... and when I came down the escalator and the view went straight towards MÜLLER, I saw the various YSL scents from a distance, at that moment I decided to go to Müller
While searching for the actual YSL fragrance, I couldn't believe my eyes ......there was actually still a bottle of YSL Rive Gauche :)........It was a VERY short visit to the miller, and I had a 2 meter wide grin on my face all the way home.
The nice lady in the miller told me that especially this fragrance is not listed in her online repertoire, and also only VERY rarely arrives in limited quantities .
Never in my life would I have thought to be allowed to take up this fragrance again in my collection .

By the way, my bottle is not black, but completely transparent, and on the side it says

ACCORDS
LAVANDE
GERANIUM
PATCHOULI
VETIVER
BOIS DE GAIAC

2003

Regarding the Sillage the original was stronger in my opinion .... but what the heck, the durability is about 8 hours on the skin, on clothing definitely longer
The flacon is ok, even if I liked the "can" better .

This is supposed to smell like Sauvage ???....
...that was my first thought when I first smelled this perfume a few weeks ago.
After reading so much good about this fragrance here, and since I have the Sauvage EDP in my collection (signature fragrance), I recently went to Douglas to test both fragrances in a direct comparison
The disillusionment followed at the same time, because in the top note the WRITER reminds me more of the La Rive Extreme Story, but ZERO of Sauvage !
Pretty disappointed, I left the store and went to the metro for shopping

I could hardly believe it, but the fragrances could be called identical twins ...so at first sight there was NO difference for me !
Only the Sillage was a little bit stronger with the Sauvage than with the Writer .... and suddenly I regretted not to have taken him for just 18 Euro.
Well, no matter ... this week I got it, and it is a really great / fresh scent, nothing earth-shattering, which the Sauvage EDT is not, because you can not compare it with the EDP .... the Sauvage EDP is for me currently one of the best men's fragrances I ever had !
The durability is top, and is at loose 8-10 hours .
The Sillage is ok, but the Sauvage EDP works much better for me in this respect
A small tip in passing, the La Rive is not so bad in direct comparison to the Writer, even if overall something synthetic, and from the performance worse

Cute? Yes. Bad? NO!!!
Not so easy to test a fragrance in the current situation, but this one you can easily smell through 3 masks.

Beside this one it was the WRITER , the AQUAMAN of Davidoff and 2 of Yves Saint Laurent .
I wore the AVIATOR from Paris Bleu today by the way......then I applied 3 more fragrances to test, but ONLY the Joop Homme ICE got stuck in my nose
In my opinion an exceptionally good spring/summer scent, but which is definitely UNISEX
To be honest, this time I find it quite difficult to describe this fragrance in any way, so I do it by classifying it
Fresh / Sweet / Fruity / Woody / Aquatic with a touch of powder ...this is probably the best way to describe him.
The Sillage is VERY powerful, and equal to the UR HOMME, the durability also seems to be quite good, because even after a shower, he is still well warmer
A direct comparison to the normal HOMME can not be drawn here, it is not so that you just throw the HOMME with COOL WATER in a pot, and out comes HOMME ICE.
TESTING is definitely worthwhile here !!!
