Memories of the fleeting happiness of summer
The other day I was visiting a good friend. We hadn't seen each other for five years Well I admit it, he is more than a friend to me, because I have certain feelings for him. I spent a week with him. In the middle of summer, in late June. It's only been a week. And of course I couldn't miss a visit to the perfumery, which fortunately has reopened in the meantime, while he was at work and I had some free time. I would have been interested to see how Hypnotic Poison EdP smells compared to the really great EdT. But unfortunately they did not have the EdP. Also Mmmh... of Juliette has a gun was tested by me. For me a Tacken too sweet, especially now in summer. Then my eyes fell on a nicely packed set: Light Blue EdT and Light Blue Eau Intense in miniature form. So I quickly tested the Light Blue EdT and found it to be good. This appley-lemon freshness with a light floral accent. Wonderful. Of course I took the set with me. My friend also liked the Light Blue, when I later proudly showed it to him. He got a "Nice!". And he's not particularly interested in perfume.

Now I have tested both fragrances for a while and yes, I also like the Light Blue Intense better. Not only is it stronger and lasts much longer, I also find the composition more balanced and rounder. After the fruity and fresh start, the EdT has a very slight hint of toilet cleanser with jasmine and musk. It still smells very pleasant, but this slightly acidic, this association with toilet cleaner bothers me a little. Fortunately, this disturbing factor is not present at all with Eau Intense. Here the Granny Smith apple predominates. I have to think of an apple slice sprinkled with lemon. The lemon juice protects the apple from oxidizing and tarnishing. In the further course of the day the scent gets a little bit sweeter, which I think comes from the jasmine and the marigold. Unlike Armani's Acqua di Gioia, the jasmine here is fortunately not sultry and therefore does not disturb. No, it fits nicely into the overall picture. The base is enchanted by light wood and clean musk, which gives a freshly showered feeling. Somehow this fragrance makes me think of a good fish restaurant. There are fresh oysters with lemon slices. Wonderful. It's probably because the week I bought the Light Blue set I was eating oysters :)))))) The Sillage is moderate to pronounced and the durability is about 5 hours on my skin.

So what does this scent mean to me? For me it means summer in the first place. This summer. Of course, when I wear it I think of my darling and our precious time together. The series "The Man in the High Castle" and "Terrace House" that we watched together. The long talks we had. Cooking and eating together. Our trip to the lake. Our first kiss. The night he held me almost until morning. Maybe there's more to us In any case, Light Blue Eau Intense makes me happy and I will always think of this time when I wear it.

Citric-floral luxury holiday
Because I like Soleil Blanc so incredibly well, I had to test the sister, the Eau de Soleil Blanc. I almost bought a bottle blindly on the internet, but with the high price I decided to play it safe and ordered a small bottling. And that was a good thing too! Because my favourite remains the Soleil Blanc! When I compare the two fragrances, the Eau de Soleil Blanc is much more citrusy and therefore appears much more masculine in the opening, almost like a cologne, thanks to the bergamot and the Biert orange. It almost stings in the nose, in a very pleasant way. The citrus notes are very tangy and have a summery effect. I can also perceive pink pepper and pistachio, which gives the fragrance an interesting effect. In the heart note, the sweetly scented white flowers, so characteristic of Soleil Blanc, then strike through. Ylang-ylang and tuberose harmonize perfectly with the citrus notes and create a contrast between creamy-sweet and tangy-sour. But what I find most beautiful about this fragrance is the warm base of sweet vanilla, sweet amber and summery Seychelles palm (smells like coconut to me). As with Soleil Blanc, Eau de Soleil Blanc evokes associations with summer, beach and luxury; the image of Waikiki Beach also emerges before my eyes, with sun cream, expensive accessories and coconut water as a refreshing drink. While I found Soleil Blanc too feminine to be called unisex, I think Eau de Soleil Blanc perfectly meets the requirements. So men and women! Let's go for Eau de Soleil Blanc! Women! Let's get some Soleil Blanc! Because both are great fragrances that immediately lift the spirits and radiate glamour and luxury. According to my subjective perception, Soleil Blanc is slightly ahead, because the creamy-sweet white blossoms are more effective there, which I like incredibly well. And the concentration of fragrance means that sillage and durability are more pronounced. Eau de Soleil Blanc on the other hand smells even more delicious, if you can say so, due to the vanilla and pistachio.

Conclusion: Both fragrances, the Soleil Blanc and the Eau de Soleil Blanc, are definitely good fragrances, which evoke associations of sun, beach and luxury. But as a woman, I prefer the Soleil Blanc, while men will probably rather enjoy the Eau de Soleil Blanc.

The girlfriend scent
Through a Beauty Box, which is sent to me for just $15 a month, I have been able to enjoy a 7 ml Flowerbomb EdP miniature. The miniature flacon looks exactly like the original flacon, a small pink "hand grenade" with a rose-gold lid and black lettering, which looks very nice. I also like the scent.

In the prelude I clearly sniff bergamot, which together with the tea (I suspect it is black tea) smells wonderfully of Earl Grey. Tea Time! Slowly more and more flowers, the freesia, the jasmine, the orchid and the rose join in. The flower scents are finely interwoven so that not a single note stands out. At this stage, the fragrance is fine, sweet and delightful. And yes, it reminds me a little bit of La Vie Est Belle (the EdT), which a friend of mine wears. When I wear Flowerbomb, I automatically think of her. Which is nice because there's an ocean separating us. She is a love, always ready to listen to me and like me she loves perfume and make-up. When no ocean separated us, we often met, talked for hours, put on make-up and took pictures, or watched series together (e.g. House of Cards). I think of these beautiful moments when I wear Flowerbomb. Patchouli gives the fragrance more depth and almost chocolaty accents, which makes it look gourmand.

But there is one little thing I could criticize about this scent: my Sillage is very weak, so that I have to add more often. In addition, I find the scent a little too "smooth" and "cool". I do not know how else to express it. But since it makes me wallow so beautifully in memories of my dear friend, I like to wear it very much. For me, this fragrance is almost like an ode to friendship!

Oriental Spring
Since I'm currently in the USA, I've taken out a subscription to Scentbird as a perfume lover. Scentbird is a subscription service that delivers 8ml of perfume of choice for $15 each month in a nebulizer and a nice velvet pouch. That's how I got to enjoy Honour Woman by Amouage. The scents made me very curious, as I really like white flowers and rhubarb sounded very special. Whether there is such a similar service in Germany, I do not know.

About the fragrance: The scent begins with a mélange of fresh rhubarb and white flowers, which smells very pleasant and lets me take a deep breath. With time, the rhubarb recedes into the background and lets the white flowers take over. No single note can be detected. Tuberose does not dominate, and I like that because I am not a fan of dominant tuberose. I see a beautiful bouquet of tuberose, jasmine, lily of the valley, carnation and gardenia. The white flowers are soft and gentle. With time, the fragrance becomes creamier and creamier, but at the same time remains fresh and warm. I think the warmth comes from the amber, incense gives the fragrance an oriental touch. I can't perceive leather, but I don't mind that. All in all a beautifully rounded scent. I think Honor Woman seems noble, elegant and ladylike. It fits perfectly into the spring, like a gentle breeze it comes along. For a high-end perfume, I'd like it to last longer. With me it lasts about 4 hours, then it is only noticeable if you hold your nose close to the sprayed area. Nevertheless a successful fragrance, which I wear every day since I received it.

Occasion: In my opinion, this fragrance is suitable for every day, for both general and sophisticated occasions. It suits every woman who wants to leave an elegant impression.

I think that says it all to Honour Woman. All in all, this scent has also made me curious about other Amouages.

A prelude to falling in love, but then...
Today I had the opportunity to test the Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey at Sephora. I was thrilled with the start! It smelled fresh and springlike like nectarine! Fresh, sliced nectarine! Remotely, the fragrance reminded me of my beloved Eclat d'Arpège from Lanvin through this springlike freshness. I almost bought the scent reflexively. But fortunately I waited to see how the scent would evolve. Because honey in perfume is not quite mine. That's it! Unfortunately after 20 minutes the honey note came out stronger and stronger, which doesn't really match the green notes. Somehow it creaks and squeaks. This was accompanied by subtle floral notes in the background, which again fit nicely into the overall picture. The color I associate with this fragrance is a pastel apricot. I would find it so successful if it weren't for this honey note! I don't want to annoy fans of this fragrance, but I'm a little disappointed with the development after the enchanting opening. I think this is the sweetest fragrance of all the Jo Malone scents I have tested. I like sweet scents, like La Nuit Trésor, but here the sweetness seems a bit unbalanced and inconsistent. I would have liked it better if this fragrance had remained entirely in the fresh/fruity category, then I would have bought it for sure. But that's not the way it is with us. But he will have his followers for sure. I think he fits well into the spring. In summer it might be a bit too sweet

Conclusion: A fabulous, ravishing, enchanting prelude, which promises spring, which unfortunately drowns in honey as it progresses...
