Made for the night
I have to say - it hasn't been so "zoom" for a while when I smelled a perfume for the first time. Several years ago - Creed Aventus, several years ago Tom Ford - Oud Wood, several months ago - Tom Ford - Mandarine di Amalfi. And now Au Hasard.

Wow. This fragrance immediately triggered a violent head rush in me when I smelled the sample. I knew immediately: I need that! This fragrance is made for the night. For noble black suits, a black turtleneck sweater and black tassle loafers with a vintage Rolex. With many good long drinks in the dim bar light. Au Hasard just screams for a strong old fashioned drink.

It comes across as really versatil. Combines a wonderful heaviness with a lovely citrusy freshness. Has reminded me immediately of a pimped variant of Ombre Nomade. Only with a very nice added lightness. Heavy spice, noble wood - I also think I smell some leather - before a beautiful mandarin blends in and provides a certain filigree. You can really lose yourself in this intangible depth.

Also, my ever-present concern of poor performance was thankfully not confirmed. For hours, this "breaker" rises in my nose. About the H&S can be reported consequently really nothing negative.

So gentlemen, purely in the fine thread and out into the nightlife (as soon as we may again). Au Hasard will not let you down! ;)

Maximum one lap in the paddling pool
Gosh, what expectations and hopes I had for this fragrance. Alone the title, the fragrance components - it must be! THE fragrance for the summer.

What then rose to my nose, however, could not have turned out more sober. No great heights, nothing that stays in the nose - simple (sweet) average. Not only does the scent not stay particularly in my memory, it didn't even stay particularly long on the clothes. H&S was really VERY disappointing for me.

For ME (very important, as purely subjective) an arbitrary, pleasing fragrance with no particular character. "Fresh and citrus" goes better and especially cheaper. Too bad, could have been the great summer love.

Old man scent? Not at all!
Admittedly - this fragrance divides opinions. And divides the community into exactly two camps. Camp 1 finds this scent to be a musty (rich) old man scent. Camp 2, of which I am a part, thinks this scent is just gorgeous! Sure, it's not as pleasing as Creed Aventus, but the more diverse it comes across.

Admittedly - the first seconds after application are really "fierce". The fragrance takes no prisoners and takes everything and everyone - including your olfactory nerves. Reminds me spontaneously of Cartier - Santos. Comparisons to a musty old man perfume I let during the first seconds still apply.

But then.

Then it unfolds its great versatility and develops a wonderful freshness. I am already very excited about the performance during warm summer evenings! Typical of Creed, it has an impressive H&S that hardly wears off for hours and hours. Chapeau.

It's not everybody's darling - but let's face it, who wants to be? ?
