I have no photo for you
What can I say about you?

I bought you blindly because reviews praised you to the skies, whether here or various Youtuber.
Then I found you on sale and thought to myself: "What the heck, I'll try it again with nem Aquaten".
Even if that worked with me and the Aquaten so far not even on a friendly basis.

I spray you on and after a momentary refreshment immediately find myself in a world of for me unpleasant impressions.
A variant of salty brackish water with something unattractive artificial, mineral and chemical paired, so that these smells bring associations with a toilet facility or with sewage for me.(more unpleasant was so far only Megamare for me).
The freshness or even a holiday feeling, which is touted by very many, develops in my nose at any time, it remains for me at musty and stale.
There is also no improvement when I try it a second or third time with you.

To your credit, you have a lot of staying power for the price range. For fans of aquatic fragrances, which probably appreciate the mineral so unpleasant for me, you are probably a highlight for the designer class.
I can not and will not rip you in the rating, because tastes are different now times (said the frog and bit the soap).
You are well done, present from the beginning, long lasting and even live through a fragrance development. One can experience a nice scent journey with you as a fan and if one perceives aquatic qualities as positive or even as a holiday feeling, then I understand that 4 out of 5 people, are well-disposed towards you. Only I'm not a fan and for me the trip was then rather a horror trip.
The Flacon is just since the mid-90s the same in the series, relatively unimaginative and classes worse than the Flacons of The One series.

For me, you are the bad buy 2021. Let's see what you can still give me.

You have to be able to stand this top note or bridging between both "Sauvage series"?
Dior has done it again.

After Dior Homme 2020 in the "Homme series" has now appeared with the Sauvage Elixir a fragrance where one has certain expectations of the fragrance because of the affiliation to this series, which the fragrance is not at all ready to fulfill.

For this reason alone, there will be many disappointed and derogatory comments or worse reviews on this fragrance, although this fragrance, taken on its own, is a completely successful composition.

However, to enjoy this fragrance, you have to be an adult and like perfume. For these two reasons alone, it will be shunned and slated by the rest of the Sauvage, Aventus and Allure wearers.

He opens up quite exhausting for me.

When I first used the bottle and shot a test spray on my arm and expectantly took a first whiff, my thought was, "My gosh -What kind of top note is that supposed to be?"
Perhaps it is different with you, on my skin reacted especially especially nutmeg and a little (probably) cardamom (which I otherwise like) together presumably with the grapefruit, like a sweet and sour spice combo and as if something had leaked in the spice cabinet. It arises briefly almost associations with a well-known spice sauce with 5 letters in a brown bottle with yellow label in my head and that was not really pleasant at first try, when the nose actually expected something else.

If you are startled by the top note on the first try and then wash the scent off or try to push it out of your head, I can understand all the once-sprayed bottles in the souk, because maybe some people approached this scent with a completely different expectation.

However, if you resist this urge (and survive the first few minutes - this negative perception for me was there with me also only on the first try), apply the fragrance properly, really wear and give the fragrance time and space, then a fantastic fragrance develops, which echoes oldschool vibes, yet is completely modern and fits this time.

Because after that, this fragrance evolves into a beautiful adult scent - not a teen pleaser.
The "Compliment getter faction" need not despair, however.
At my first full wear test, I was addressed by 2 people, what that would be for a beautiful interesting fragrance.
So he also seems to create a positively effective sillage. This fragrance actually develops a wow effect with the beginning of the heart note - just also with others. Even if I myself do not perceive the fragrance as intense as some rate him (but I also otherwise like to wear "Beastmode" fragrances), he is perceptible to all; he thus performs.

Variants of lavender are present in all Sauvages but also in most Eau Sauvages. In conjunction with the "Restambroxan" a few percent Sauvagesvibes are still left alive, however, for me - perhaps just - in conjunction with vetiver and patchouli a bridge can be built to the Eau Sauvage fragrances and generally to barbershop scents and fragrances such as Masculin Pluriel or Beau de Jours.
However, these fragrances are fragrances for old gentlemen for the previous Sauvage wearer.

I do not want to compare at all too much this fragrance with the just mentioned. However, I hypothesize that the wearers of these fragrances and fragrances, could more easily make friends with Sauvage Elixir, than someone who previously found Sauvage EdT as one of his favorites.

And so perhaps it makes sense again to place this fragrance at the end of the Sauvage series.
Hardly a sauvage carrier would also test or buy barbershop fragrances from himself, because from the previous age target group, these fragrances are very far away. We are there with fragrances with 90s vibes and the last 90s fragrance, which the Sauvageträger could still know, is the now heavily watered down Le Male and which is rarely still felt by those for portable.
Who participated in the 90s actively or even already wearing fragrances, does not belong to the previous Sauvage target group. Where do the associations with a sports locker room (not gym locker room, that is not associated with older gentlemen) come from.

If it had appeared as a modern Eau Sauvage Flanker, no one would have noticed it from the younger buyer group.

Everywhere the 90s are just revived, in the clothes (who goes today in an H&M or New Yorker, thinks with 2/3 of the collection, to have mistaken in the calendar), in the music (apart from the elementary school rhymes and speech therapy exercises with the help of autotunes, because dear children: also rap and hiphop had its best time in the 90s) and now Dior tries a bridge with a high-quality fragrance, the current target group with barbershop vibes and fragrance ideas of the 90s to connect.
The 2020s interpretation of the 90s has now also begun at Dior in the perfume world.
