I give it up
I think aquatic scents smell great on so many others. Fresh, clean, cheerful, airy and so on
About me, I kind of... not.
I tried for years. Tried many different perfumes. It's always the same. At first the smell is great. Fresh, clean, cheerful, airy and so on. And then he drifts off. I'm suddenly beginning to feel uncomfortable. Kind of cold. Impersonal. Not like me.
I don't know why.
Some time ago, a friend of mine who works in a perfumery talked me into this scent. I was spontaneously there and we talked a little bit and I told her about my problem with the aqua fragrances.
She showed me this one. It was very different. Sprayed him. Yeah, he smelled good. Delicious, after summer. The cucumber is very perceptible, I like that.
We talked a little longer, the summery top note remained long. I thought okay, take it with you, this scent here is different.
I drove home, showed my husband the scent. He thought it was good, too, slightly so.
And then it happened as it had to happen. Soon after I got home, I wasn't feeling well. I smelled increasingly pungent jasmine. I wanted to wait him out, ignore him. But it got worse and worse.
And the base never settles with me. It remains strange, cold, too much jasmine.
I tried. Different occasions. Different weather. But it stays that way. I passed it on. To a woman on whom the fragrance smells strangely delicious and who feels fresh, clean, cheerful, airy and so on with it.
I think Calvin Klein eternity aqua marks the end of my experimental era with aquatic fragrances. It's a pity about the cucumbers, maybe I will find one that smells cuddly and warm, homely and not strange despite the cucumber.

I think he's okay
I recently received the samples of Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium and Black Opium Neon.
I left them for the time being, because Yves Saint Laurent is usually too much, too heavy, too much jasmine for me. (but this is probably because I prefer softer scents).
Today, on Sunday, I thought : why not ?
I only applied two splashes on the wrists because I expected a bomb that was too heavy. At first I was surprised that no bomb hit me
The prelude reminds me of Jennifer Lopez Life, a fragrance I liked to wear at the time of my wedding, when I had just passed the age of 20 and had emotionally said goodbye to teen scents and turned to more "ladylike" perfumes. The top note of both is fruity, you can smell something fresh (in any case tangerine and berries). Delicious, I think.
After not so long, perhaps an hour, the heart note emerges. You can smell the jasmine quite well, which is complemented by a little bit of tart coffee. Personally I don't like coffee at all and I already mentioned the jasmine above. I can't have him in the background. Fortunately, the berries remain for quite a long time and weaken the jasmine coffee scent.
The coffee is preserved up to the base note and blends with the gentle fragrances to create a smell reminiscent of a certain chocolate. This is the one where different bars in different flavours are packed in a flat box and on the outside the French word for "thank you" is written. According to the advertising, this chocolate should be given to the postman as a Christmas present.
As a child, granny often had this chocolate at her grandmother's house, and everyone would take a bar. And I was terribly disappointed when I caught the coffee-flavored one.
Yeah, now when I sniff my wrist, that memory comes back.
The coffee is never extremely in the foreground, but always perceptible.
I think I'll give the specimen to my aunt. It's nothing to me. But it's not a bad smell if you like coffee and jasmine. It is not obtrusive, it has a beautiful top note and an elegant touch.

I'm in love on Valentine's Day
I don't really care about Valentine's Day, because my husband and I already celebrate our anniversary on February 13th, which is of course very individual and therefore much nicer.
So today Valentine's Day didn't really matter to me either and since one of my children's birthdays is tomorrow, I wanted to do the shopping for the weekend quickly.
I was missing hair soap and detergent, so I drove to the DM. Of course I enjoyed there, as usual, to sniff one or two nice scents and to get away from the daily routine for a short time.
I had just read about the new Betty Barclay tender love yesterday and found the description quite ok. I have to say that I used to like Woman no 3 for many years, but now I have other perfumes that I prefer.
All the other Betty Barclay fragrances were always pretty much the same to me, they were stored in the category "quite nice, nothing more". Now I sniffed the bottle while shopping and thought "hmm smells good!"
I sniffed the test strip and thought: "it even smells pretty good!"
I sprayed it on my wrist and thought, "great!" I smell (after a short alcoholic second) very tasty tangerines and bergamot, which I personally like. It smells of spring and summer.
I continued shopping and let it develop first, because I had read something about Jasmin and I don't like Jasmin.
After about an hour the summery fresh scent became a little softer. Yes, I smell some jasmine in between, but the freesia deescalates between him and my nose! Thanks, dear Freesie, I like you very much anyway
Now I wear the fragrance for about 4 hours and slowly the base note becomes established. This is very faint to smell, but okay.
I guess the whole scent clears after about 5-6 hours
That's okay for me, because unlike many others I prefer fragrances that envelop my body anyway and none that cover my presence.
I must say that the scent is a surprising love at first sight. Even though I don't like Valentine's Day!

Artificial
My oldest daughter was with me in the drugstore and she loves to test perfumes
Nowadays I know which fragrances I like and usually test similar ones, sometimes you find a new favourite.
My children, however, test everything in a wild mixture and so you get to know one or the other scent that you would not choose yourself. Sometimes I am surprised how unexpectedly good one of these perfumes smells, even the one from the bottom row.
My daughter now resorted to the Mystic Moonlight because "the flacon shines so beautifully, Mama!".
Test stripes Joa's leaving. You don't get crushed right away.
Arm joint :first the scent smells artificially fruity-sweet. I have no idea what kind of fruit it could be, something synthetic-berry maybe, mixed with synthetic orange.
My daughter likes it. (primary school age)
After a few minutes, the fruits give way to something sweet and synthetic. I can't even guess what that smell is, because it's overwhelming me. The scent becomes increasingly heavy, artificial, sticky and looks very cheap.
My daughter doesn't like it as much anymore.
Unfortunately the scent still haunts me for quite a while, my skin absorbs scents quickly and usually relatively long lasting. I had to wash the arm several times to get rid of the smell. Over time, he actually made me nauseous.
The fruity opening of the fragrance is actually quite okay if you like very sweet fruits. If it stayed like this, young girls could wear the fragrance well in summer, even though it smells rather artificial.
But what follows is extremely penetrating and unpleasant. And you can't get rid of him
