I often disagree with the consensus on certain fragrances. For example, Encre Noir Extreme, Eau Sauvage EDP, and Le 3rd by Caron are all currently rated 8+ but I don't like them at all. Fragrance love is very subjective, and there is nothing wrong with a mass appealing scent. It means you are making more people happy in your daily travels. I have learned to first seek specifically fellow enthusiasts who DON'T like the same scents, as we will then often LIKE the same ones.
