Spring vanilla with a twist
A friendly perfumer gave me a Travel-TZ from Wish for Spring.
Unlike her, I like vanilla fragrances and after wearing it several times, it has now turned out that I also like this one in particular.

I can't really pick out individual notes; for me, it's just a very beautifully interwoven overall result that is very wearable right now - spring is always peeking out, it's getting warmer and greener, the first flowers are appearing.

What does this fragrance smell like now, I'll give it a try:
Of the notes listed, I very clearly perceive the vanilla.
Furthermore, a certain spiciness with a fresh twist.
I can't say exactly where this comes from, perhaps it comes from the combination of tonka bean with a lemony vetiver, which then has a sweet-spicy-fresh effect for me.

I don't notice any fruits or flowers at all; perhaps a violet pastille beckons from afar and then disappears again.

For me, the drydown is a super beautiful, spicy vanilla:
The scent had probably settled in my cardigan after the first time I wore it, which was very funny, as I kept noticing a very nice whiff the next day and wondered where it came from. Until I realized that it was the drydown in the cardigan.

As I was a little confused by the not-so-good rating here and the classification as a violet fragrance (I perceive the fragrance completely differently), I asked people in my private circle (not perfumos / perfumas) to test the fragrance:
The feedback was consistently very positive. Vanilla, sandalwood, amber and apricot were perceived. And the fragrance was classified as high quality (and delicious ;>).

I was also able to determine through the tests: The fragrance also smells good - to my nose - on another person.

Pollita took up the cudgels for the brand's 'un-oud' fragrances in one of her blogs:
I agree here, I find the fragrance very nice, definitely worth testing for vanilla lovers.

There is still one tiny fly in the ointment for me:
The fragrance is a little too intense for me, i.e. I have to spray carefully, otherwise it becomes too much for me.
But sprayed carefully, the fragrance is really very nice - maybe not just in spring :)

powdery and leathery - and vanilla!
Do reviews of discontinued fragrances make sense?
... Probably not.
Does it make sense to test discontinued fragrances?
... No (at least from my point of view).

So much for the theory.
In practice, I accidentally tested a fragrance that had been discontinued, namely this one.
I didn't know that - that it had been discontinued.

What can I say: Tested and immediately flashed.
I got hold of a bottle and continued testing - you could have made a mistake, it might not be so good after all.
Nope, nothing there, still flashed - crap, it's discontinued...
And then - what luck - I got hold of a bottle.

I like vanilla fragrances. Not all of them, but those that are
- sweet but not sticky,
- perceptible but not too loud,
- embracing but not overwhelming
are

This fragrance is all that. I don't perceive any great progression here, for me it is a very soft, very powdery leather note on a beautiful, somewhat smoky vanilla throughout.

Why has this beautiful fragrance been discontinued - sigh...

I can not describe you, but you are perfect
Since I couldn't fit the following into a 140 character statement, it will now be a review :)
(I already did a review on parfumo.de, this is the english version)

I like vanilla, I like iris, I like woody notes.
Probably Black Tie is the perfect blend of these for me, maybe the other notes play a role here too, I can't tell.

Because I can't smell out any individual notes here, I just perceive the overall result:
Present, but not obtrusive.
Sweet, but not sticky - a dry sweetness that is very attractive.
Powdery, but not dry as dust.

Just a perfect composition for me, great fragrance.

What smells so good?
- me! :)
I've already tested some oud perfumes and have come to the conclusion based on the tests that they are nothing for me - too woolly, too much rose, too scratchy, on balance just not coherent for me.
And then came the Resala:
What a beautiful fragrance! :)
For my nose, the perfectly tuned, there is nothing scratchy, the rose fits super pure and the longer I wear the, the more beautiful the. Maybe it's also because of the chocolate that I like the so - I have' just a soft spot for Gourmands...
Whatever - am really totally thrilled.
The bottle is very nice, but there is a point deduction for the closure, because this sits very loose.
