No laurel wreath for Invictus Legend
I was looking forward to trying out the fragrance - after all, what fits better with the concept than fresh laurel? - but the combination with grapefruit and geranium unfortunately disappoints... DAMAGE!

Vetiver, Vetiver, Vetiver - a great touch of a summer on the coast
Terre d'Hermès has been one of my favourite fragrances for years. The citric notes, the vetiver oil and the golden colour awaken in me holiday memories, adjectives such as Mediterranean, lively, refreshing, free come to mind when I want to describe the fragrance. But with that I would never do justice to this smell, because these characteristics apply to so many other summer scents as well. What distinguishes Terre d'Hermès from all the other fragrances in my eyes is that he is also incredibly distinguished and expressive without becoming obtrusive. For me it fits both during the day in the office, and in the evening in a bar or on a date and of course also in the restaurant on vacation. Chapeau on the versatility of Terre d'Hermès!

London in late summer - a sweet depth
Burberry Her, my girlfriend's new fragrance, is a gourmand fragrance that makes you want more the first time you spray it on. I smell a full-bodied berry mix that is not too sweet and sticky to look cheap or pubertal. Instead, the fragrance appears gentle and elegant, especially in the interplay with the floral heart note, and for me in my imagination goes through as "typically British".

The durability of Her on my girlfriend's skin is phenomenal, even hours later Her is clearly perceptible, with the musk now coming to the fore. Musk can be a curse and a blessing to my senses for a perfume, because it can quickly smell "obtrusive" and "severe". Not so with Burberry Her, here it rather complements the sweet floral smell and gives it a special depth.

After Mr. Burberry Indigo from my point of view the second above average fragrance from Francis Kurkdjian for Burberry. I'm curious to see what comes next and I feel a great desire to walk over London's Tower Bridge myself, just like Cara Delevingne does for Burberry Her on the posters in the department store of my choice :)

On the trail of Terre d'Hermés - my new British fragrance companion
It's Saturday morning in a German metropolis. The more arduous part of the week is behind me, the sun greets me with an unusual intensity in this country and the prospect of a day outdoors brings a broad smile to my face. Maybe I'll stroll around the weekly market. Maybe I'll take the tram and go hiking in the countryside. If my place of residence would allow it, I would like to go for a walk on the beach.

This feeling of freedom after work, this feeling of having a multitude of possibilities and being able to consciously choose according to one's own taste and current state of mind, this luxury of free time - all this is captured in a wonderful way in Burberry's new men's perfume. Mr. Burberry Indigo radiates blue sky, freedom, fresh air and the fragrance comes with a tangy citrus top note. Indigo reminds me of Terre d'Hermés, one of my favourite fragrances, in its composition of citrus (lemon here, grapefruit there) and Mediterranean spice (rosemary instead of pepper) and the masculine oakmoss nuance. Nevertheless, indigo develops its very own character, with the fresh mint clearly visible in the heart note. Woody chords ensure longevity.

I haven't had Burberry's men's fragrances so much on my screen so far, even though I find the iconic fashion of the traditional British brand very appealing. What I find particularly interesting is that the classic trench coat pays homage to Mr. Burberry Indigo: the bow that adorns the neck of the bottle and is reminiscent of noble English gentlemen is made of gabardine, the same patented material as the trench coat. Also the folding box is obviously inspired by the relief of the trench coat.

I'm very glad I met Mr. Burberry Indigo. No matter how my Saturday goes, Indigo will be my companion today!

A faithful companion, through ups and downs - A greeting to BOSS Bottled
It is Monday, with tired eyes I get out of bed, the first coffee and the cool shower at least help my circulation to get going. Mentally, I'm going through the appointments that await me this week. The mood fluctuates between "please don't address" and "why is the weekend so damn fast over? Suit on, a matching tie overturned, the belt also sat better once. "Have I promised my boyfriend I'll stop by after work this week? I should definitely call the insurance company and talk about the last premium increase. While many thoughts shoot into my head at the same time and my brain slowly comes to operating temperature, I mechanically clatter off the morning care routine. The hair is quickly styled and a thin cream is applied. A look in the mirror, looks okay, the long Saturday evening and the even longer days in the office I can't deny today. My face is an open book that paints jaws, I quickly exhort myself to relax. One last reach into the mirror cabinet. My hand embraces the bottle I have grown fond of, the round glass feels familiar, the slight coolness emanating from the material paradoxically gives me a warm and pleasant feeling. I take the upright written lettering was conscious and spray. Once. A second time. Instinctively, I think back to the successful conclusion of the contract in the last quarter. To the compliment I received from my new colleague in the elevator. I'd look as light-hearted as I'd ever do. What about my suits, would they be tailor-made? Of course they're not, but hey. My thoughts wander even further into the past. My final exam. What was I nervous about beforehand. Hours of preparation just to be there at the crucial moment. My first date with my girlfriend? The thoughts I've been thinking about which scent best embodies me. What do I want to stand for? The new Dior Sauvage? To be wild and rebellious, like Johnny Depp? JPG Le Male? She certainly knows how to walk a thousand times along the eye-catching men's silhouette in the fragrance shelf. But would I like to smell like my father? Do I need Role Models to find the right fragrance for me? Do I need the commercials to tell me what I want to smell like? What was I supposed to smell like? In my position, in my age, in my skin?

No. A constant companion for many, many years (oh there it is again, the age, the time that runs mercilessly) who has accompanied me in all these moments. Even in bad times, hard times, failures. They're part of it. Good and bad experiences make us who we are. And they make me feel comfortable with my fragrance companion in every situation. Not because it says BOSS. Not because the bottle stands out from the crowd. Not because the advertising is loudest or the campaign faces are most desirable. Simply because the scent completely convinces me with its versatility, its warmth, its smell of apple strudel. And that for years.

I arrived in the day, in the week. I pull up the corners of my mouth and am ready for the challenges that await me. I feel good! I feel good!
