Robin Hood
Kevin Kostner you ask? - Nah, I'm sure he's not!
The heroes in tights? - Nah, this is the end of the line!

Yeah, right. The Robin from the 80s. The British series with the music of Clannad. There is no scene that is not at least 10 parallel running incense... er fog machines running in parallel.

So is Fathom V! :)

Bam! After the first spray, you're right in the heath. Everything smells like herbs and fresh earth. The wind blows some salty air over. You walk to the next village and enjoy the scent of mossy rocks. Herbs and incense waft from the distance. It's less earthy here, but not necessarily less tart. Rural charm...

The director gives as sign and the ground fog kicks in. Wow, I just realize how I love incense...wow, moss & incense I'm getting all fuzzy.

Schaaaatz? What do you think...?
Something claws into the blanket across from me and hisses, "Go take a shower!"
Surely not ;) "That's just incense, not holy water."
Two glowing coals sparkle in the distance of the spreading darkness.

I escape with Marian to a small herb cottage. Pleasant gentle smells. There might be a berry or two to be found, too.
The fireplace has gone out, but the gentle smoke still wafts through the little hut. Her red hair smells smoky and sweet at the same time....

Fathom V, masculine, sexy, definitely no compliment getter and absolutely to take along if you want to have his 2m Corona distance. So you have felt the triple distance :)

Many many hours later: shaaatz, you can come down! I think he's gone!

Rambling?
Nah, not really.

Durability & Silage are ok to good but also no more.
"Stimulating" would have been a better title, because that's exactly how the fragrance works for me.

Fruity, slightly sweet and refreshing. Every puff of this fragrance creates free space in my head. A very liberating and vitalizing feeling.

The fragrance comes rather linear and hardly changes. Initially rather fruit cocktail, then rather rose & Oud.

The fruits are hard to identify. After some comments speak of currant I can make an association. From alone I would have my dear not to smell so.

When the freshness of the top notes wears off, a lovely, slightly fruity rose takes over. In the background increasingly out / light tobacco present. These push themselves but never penetrating into the foreground.

Shortly after application, the silage is actually present on 3m. This is then but soon and the scent is increasingly body closer. I find this very pleasant with Prolixe. Someone else described the scent as "intimate". So far I would not go now, but I can understand the description quite.

The durability is enormous, even if not a booming fragrance. Body close I had loose 7-8h and the clothes smell the next day still like freshly sprayed. Mmmm fresh and stimulating without reminding of detergent freshness or room fragrance - I Like!

What I like less is the price point. I can absolutely not understand for a fragrance that is just "ok to good". Should the times in the sale appear I would acquire him possibly even as "nice to have"
acquire. In my perception rather what for days on which I like to feel good and less to impress others.

Prolixe was also well received by my better half. But even here came the feedback that there are other "must buys".

Testing is worthwhile in any case and so far I am very fond of Histoires des Parfums and the next sample is already on the way ;)

I'll bust your coconut
Somewhere in the tropics.
A clueless man takes off his hat to wipe the sweat from his forehead.
Just at that moment, it falls as if in time lapse and lands exactly on the 12th hole
The fruit shatters and a wonderful coconut scent pours over the poor tourist.

The rising freshness and coconut scent immediately make you forget the bump.

Then the alcohol dries and I'm back at my place. Even before I can ask myself what just happened, a flashback sets in.

At first I thought ofsomething sweetish/slightly citrusy a la bad scent or chewing gum. Then I'm back in my childhood. I don't know what I liked to snack on but that candy I had poisoned my young body with smelled just like that.

The coconut disappeared as quickly as it came here. Then the slightly sweet yet fresh bubble gum smell. Kind of tasty but still too fresh/sharp for me. I would have loved to change the station. That lays down then but so at 40-60 min.

The heart notes take over so slowly. The coconut scent comes out again and mixes with iris & the top notes. At first a little changeable, but the further he feeds the base the more brilliant the fragrance.

Sweetish, but not too penetrating. Soft & harmonious. In the background constantly a light freshness. A roller coaster of feelings: iris, coconut, iris, coconut...

A beautiful perfume when it arrives in the base. Oh and the coconut bomb at the beginning - also top. In between it's interesting, but not quite mine, especially at the price point of the Centenario.

But then jasmine, musk, iris & coconut cream.... lovely desert... light and airy. A feel-good scent, a good mood scent. Except for coconut, I can barely tell the notes apart. They flow into each other and I smile :)

Not too debauched for a centenary celebration and at ~7h only a few guests are still celebrating. Even the clothes only have a subtle scent of the Centenario left.

I am torn. I wouldn't have actively sought this one out now, and yet it's so well made that it goes on the nice to have list.

One of those fragrances that you wear when you're in a good mood and this mood increases in the felt expotentielle :P

Passable disharmony
The "inbetween the sheets" fragrance is not at all as wicked as it is touted.

It starts with a note that is described by others as "plum brandy" /alcoholic. I would rather say that the slight disharmony between violet/jasmine and incense comes into play here.

So really alcoholic or after a drunken night smells here nothing. I assume the disharmony to be a stylistic device.

Pepper & incense are dominandt and scratch something. As soon as it goes towards the base, the fragrance becomes softer and so really pleasant. Gentle leather combines with equally gentle smoke and is subtly sweetened with vanilla & patch.

This is not a people pleaser. Still, if I LIKE feeling good, I can definitely wear this fragrance daily. Chambre Noir is perceptible but not too expansive, and eventually wraps itself around me like a man's cuddly blanket.

Sure, there are better made scents that smell like more "quality" or come across as less discordant. I'm usually put off by leather in the base. but then this one appeals.

The performance is ok but not outstanding. I guess times so 6h well noticeable, close to the body. In the clothes a little longer but also only discreet and not as expansive as other fragrances the next day.

That was my first "incense" test and I was triggered to go poaching in the area further :)

Room scent from Italy
Just from the fragrance pyramid alone, my mouth is watering.

Still, it's not going to be a love affair.

Paisley started as an intense herbal soap. It reminds me of a better verbena product from the miller.

After that, the faint soap smell loses itself and makes way for a herbal freshness as you know it from room scents. Not unpleasant, but the association with toilet fragrances is just too strong.

Once this freshness / sharpness has subsided it is somewhat better because less penetrating. The basic herbal mood remains present, however. I smell fresh and clean, but actually wanted to smell sensual and beguiling.

Lucky that the silage is not very expansive. After 3-4h was the spook then also over and I must continue to look for a delicious Ylang Ylang duft :(

Last test:
"You Schaaaaaatz....?!"
"Smells like WC"
"Ok, thanks to you!"
"Go take a shower!"

This Etro unfortunately smells too much like beauty/room fragrance products and not enough like perfume. Also, the scent changes too little for an oriental. Paisley has at least that in common with the shirt brand ;)

Too bad.
