On a quest for booze
I'm still looking for the ideal rum armoma...

Geco is quite passable but not what I'm looking for. The dealbreaker is the shelf life. After 3-4h was layer in the shaft and at the price point that's too little, too bad.

It starts with a pungent alcohol note, which fortunately does not smell like cheap booze. Then a slap in the face - there has just enjoyed someone in the nutmeg can - wow, I see stars.

After a few minutes, it gets fruitier. I smell coconut first. It's very very distantly reminiscent of Malibu. My wife perceives more plum. I smell that too, but a little later. So in the direction of spicy plum brandy, then again rather coconut.

In between spices. First nutmeg / sandalwood dominant. In the base then comes delicious vanilla. Here the fragrance gets really good, light sweetness, slightly Spicy and very decent rum. This would be really great now, if I didn't have to do a roll forward to land with my nose on my chest.

Barely any silage left and I have to actively sniff to enjoy this great composition. Argh! Still, from the mood, sitting by the wood stove with a glass and enjoying the view of the winter landscape from the warmth.

Even in the clothes, the scent does not last much longer. Short shower and then also the last fragrance relic was history. :(

Good, but with shortcomings in the performance & the called price is not quite understandable

Want to buy roses?
Moonlight Patchouli is a slightly misleading title.

In my opinion, the fragrance is too "bright" for mondlich or the dark of the night is missing and ruins the mood. The fragrance is pleasant, only unfortunately I had other expectations of it.

It is definitely a unisex fragrance. Floral, with the rose being dominant. Bright, soft, feminine - without pampy sweetness. Can also wear well as a man.

Preferably during the day in casual office/leisure. All year round.

Patchouli is unfortunately barely noticeable. It acts discreetly in the background. The top notes I do not smell out in the stated form. Probably it is this floral, fresh fragrance, which some have described here as "laundry fragrance".

Yes, goes in the direction, but is much more pleasant than sniffing the fabric softener ;)
My wife's nose also landed on my chest immediately and didn't find it all that unpleasant.

The Silage is discreetly perceived at Corona distance. More precisely you can classify the fragrance but only so from 30-50cm I would say.

The dominant rose goes over time (~3-4h) in leather. Again, the whole is very subtle and soft and I waver between leather and light woods in the classification.
All very unexciting but good. Since I had Tom Ford's BEAU DE JOUR also in front of the nose I would rather reach in comparison to Van Cleef & Arpels since here no powder whatsoever is to be heard.

What is similar: Both smell clean. For my taste a little too clean to justify a purchase. But quite well done, just not quite mine. Qualitatively but certainly a brand of which I will test more.

Knock on wood
Bois was included as an extra in the last order.

The scent really surprised me now that I am not really a friend of woods. But I find him partly really nice.

Let's start with a good dose of cannabis. - Contrary to expectations, this scent is not sweetish but tart and is more in the herbal direction rather than delivering a "rush".

The woods are a constant companion. They are dry, slightly smoky/dusty. Head & heart notes are dominated by the herbal scent. It has a certain freshness, possibly due to the patchouli. A rather classic masculine scent, even if it is softer. My bride had also commented immediately: "It smells like old men, take a shower!"

Yeah, I have to agree. Reminiscent of a men's round 55+ Normally I would have showered too, but the woods drew me into their spell. I like wood?!?! "Hang on, he'll change, honey!"

While Head & Heart wasn't as convincing... partly it reminds of the wood in a herbal sauna..., the base notes..., I love them! Especially the next day. This pleasant astringency. Then the gentle smell of wood... Yum Yum! A pity, another perfume where I like some parts totally but the other fragrances don't encourage me to buy. I would have to find a day when the "boss" is not around to wear the fragrance ;)

I thank you Bois in any case! In the future I will pay more attention to woods! Maybe there is one I like after all

Since it was a test filling I dare to say hardly anything about the performance. In any case, it lasted for 9h+ and was mostly only present near the skin.

Herbal limo from Cologne
If it weren't for the old pandemic, I would have had a direct comparison with Sweden's forests in summer...

So all that remains for me is the cologne and my associations.
Congratulations, it does not smell like cologne! That's a big plus!

Go get it with 20-30 minutes that some reviewers have already described as "bath water additive". I wouldn't go that far right now. But the opening is definitely the weakest part of the fragrance and there is a certain proximity to bath salts.

I guess the bergamot and the coriander don't quite go together. They come across as fresh, but also very pompous. It gets better afterwards. Unfortunately, there is no coniferous forest in sight.

From the notes of my heart I had the thought of forest soil. Definitely not trees. But forest soil is not exactly what I was thinking about either. For that it smells too herbal. Hmm lemonade! Yes exactly! If you leave out the papa sweetness of lemonade it smells exactly the same. I thought of the Wostock Tannenwald lemonade, but that's not it. It's more like Almdudler!

Yes, Aqua Colonia smells the way Almdudler tastes - like herbal lemonade! And it becomes more and more pleasant with time. In my opinion, the base notes are the best part of the fragrance. I wouldn't smell the scent pyramid out like that. But I can perceive a pleasant, tart Kreutermischung (lemonade). Tart, fresh, but definitely not like in a conventional Fougere. It is much milder here

Fun Fact: As I was looking for a forest scent, I was a little disappointed because there was only herbs. My better half seemed to like it more and her nose poked my shirt all evening: "That doesn't smell that bad" - *eyes roll*

Yes, it's not bad at all, but it's not what I expected. But with the low price you can keep your nose clean. Occasionally in spring or even summer the water might even find its application

Since it is an EdC, you can only guess how long this scent will last. Except for the beat-me-dead top notes, it has hardly any silage and remains rather in the background, i.e. very close.

But be careful! If you put a shirt on too soon, it'll stick to it for days! Even 3 days later I took my shirt out of the laundry basket and it still smells very intensely of herbal soda. On the skin - even if only weakly, I had a good 6-7h before I had to really make an effort to notice something. So fine, but oho!

To the bottle:

It is very pleasant to hold something with glass knobs in your hands. Optically it looks a bit old-fashioned. Not to offend Miss Marple, but I think that's exactly how her bottles look in the display case. Every one of them! :P

At this price point, the pestle sprayer also does a good job and the bottle can be lifted by the cap without it slipping out. A good load of liquid comes out, only I find that it could be crushed a bit finer. But like I said: Price performance in that respect very good!

Mr. Floral

p.s. Emergency call on our own behalf:

Anyone who can recommend a "I think I'm in the woods" scent, give it to me!

Bottega Veneta - Pour Homme was great, unfortunately it doesn't last long.
From the pyramid of scent: Bacio Nella Pioggia of Lake Como. Unfortunately there are hardly any reviews and I hesitate to buy blindly.

A date with Morticia Adams
Wow, what a smell.
An artificial creation, since there are no black orchids. But if there were... they would smell exactly the same!

At first I had the usual difficulties to get past the lady in the shop, because the orchid was clearly on the shelf for women's fragrances - and we guys are not allowed there ;)

But since the male fan community on the Internet was so enthusiastic, I did not let myself be put off.
At the first pull of this wonderful plant, I was already addicted to it.

It begins with an incredible freshness - I'm guessing bergamot. But there is something heavy/morbid that resonates. Just a little Morticia :) Without being able to locate it exactly, I bet on the truffle as the culprit.

Be warned! Lower your headlines before you go out in public. I had two empty seats next to me in a waiting room in no time. The smell can be stomach aggravating. And despite the label "Frauenduft" the ladies seem to be rather split/susceptible to make their seats free :P

The heaviness then gradually subsides and I smell the orchid - fresh, pure, sensually beguiling. I could nibble my heartstrings... that smell... i'm standing in a gloomy flower shop waiting for the Venus trap to close

The heart notes are still fresh, but are losing intensity. The morbid/heavy background noise is also softer. Again and again the freshness of the ass idea pops up and my whole attention goes into this scent eruption. This is exactly what a perfume is supposed to do to you. Thanks!

The base notes still carry a good part of the orchid with them. Especially the freshness remains a companion. But increasingly the pleasant vanilla also comes to the fore. The patchouli mix partly reminds me of dark chocolate. But that is only an association of mine. There is nothing gourmanding in the florist's shop here!
Balsamic, yes... dark, masculine... still chewable. I find myself sniffing the crook of my arm again and again... i'm lying in Morticia's arms

And this durability... Even the next day, this pleasant balm smells on my skin. The clothes also have a good portion of scent to give off - and have even more of the freshness of the orchid than I do. The scent is high quality and you can smell it for 10+ hours

The silage is also very extensive. At the opening I would estimate that there are two arm lengths in it and you leave a trail behind. After about 30 - 45 min this will settle down a bit. The orchid is certainly not a silent treader, but it doesn't fill a concert hall either. The basic notes start to show Dominaz from 5-6h on. You can easily be there with 0,5 - 1 arm length and your shirt has been assimilated. Black tendrils everywhere...

The bottle is not quite my favourite design. But I can only give positive reports. The grooves give a nice tactile effect. The bottle can be lifted by the cap. The pestle is top. The scent comes out of the bottle in a fine and neat amount. The only silly thing is that it is difficult to measure the level thanks to the black tint. So I have to hold the vessel against the room lamp from time to time to see how much is left.

In principle, I can imagine wearing them all year round. Due to collateral damage, I would probably rule out summer, early morning commuting and work. The scent is very sensual to me. So wear it even if you can be yourself :)
