The other day in the fragrance pyramid...
... up hui, down yuck!

The Scent Absolut - with this fragrance my entry into the perfume world began last fall.
Since I never wore a fragrance before, I asked the store manager for recommendations. We men are known to be easy to handle while shopping ;)

After the umpteenth test bottle I already thought about how to make it clear that I should actually go...
Then she pressed the Absolut in my face and screamed: "Stop!"

Wow, he's really nice. Kind of boozy without being too alcoholic. And tasty, orange, soft, sweet, a little chocolate. So I sniffed several times and took the one on my arm + test strip.

After the licking winter opening with orange, an intense cocoa/dark chocolate scent is added. Also somehow cinnamon/vanilla although the pyramid of scents doesn't give it away. Possibly triggered winter association? The chocolate was definitely dominant and got a slightly leathery/smoky note over time. The gourmand is replaced by more masculinity.

So far so good. Heads and heart notes were a bite. I guess at about 4-5h the base notes came through. But here it was anything but nice. I took a strong smell of leather. This became increasingly unpleasant. So I just impregnated the leather boots with paraffin. Eugh!

My wife also wanted me to go to the shower immediately. Unfortunately, that didn't help very much. So hour 5 to about 7 were a real test. Afterwards the scent collapsed into an indefinable mishmash.

But since I liked the first part so much, I organized another test in another drugstore and tested again. Similar result: Great, warm winter opening and then yuck! Since I had dosed this time myself, the impregnation smell was not that bad. The collapsing of the smell took place like in the first test, so from 7h on. The next day you can still smell it, especially on your clothes. Whereby it smells clearly better on the clothes, but also here it collapses.

Pity. Maybe the Absolut works better on another skin. I wish you!

On test strips I had additionally tested the other two "scents", but I have to say that the Absolute left the best impression. If the base would not be so catastrophic on my skin I would have bought it for sure, because I had a great winter feeling

At least the first time I went shopping, I realized how important it is to spray a sample and watch what happens for several hours.

The bottle in the shop made a neat impression, nothing rattles. Neutral design in brown and the sprayer delivered a good result. The performance corresponded to the usual in the trade. If you add the unpleasant and mixed-measure phase to this, you would even have to say good.

From the silage I would also say average. Especially the top notes were perceptible a bit over arm length. According to my wife you have 1 - 0,5 arm lengths. If you come from the cold and open your coat you should not stand in the haze area, that can be a real hammer ;)

Synthetic fruit-musk punch
"Wild" Fruits doesn't quite cover it
Although a fruit scent appears, it is clearly artificial and not very definable.
But it is quite pleasant and not as citric pungent as with some other perfumes.

The top notes are beautifully citrusy and fruity. A clear classification is difficult for me. Sometimes I smell grapefruit and lime, other times it seems like lemon-melon... strange, but ok
No pungent citrus WC cleaner so far :)

In my case the top note starts at 1h and it continues with the heart notes, which are just as difficult for me to define. I mean to recognize a nuance of apple, paired with currant and/or violet. Also here I think that the notes are sometimes different, but I find it difficult to define them exactly.

After about 2-4h the musk becomes more dominant. The cedar remains for me hardly noticeable in the background. Every now and then I have the feeling that one or the other fruit nuance pops up again and soon gets lost in the musk/violet/currant sauce again. So from 6h on I had mainly the musk + X left. But only in skin proximity perceptible. Tested at about 16-18 degrees, so there should also be something to do in warm weather.

The scent is slightly sweet without being penetrating, yet somehow fresh and pleasant. Unfortunately, it is difficult to differentiate - just a fragrance punch. If you are looking for an intensive fruit scent, you are in the wrong place. If you are satisfied with "pretending we are fruits", you will find it here.

Since the sweetness is not too pungent, I would say a clear unisex.

Unusual for a Mancera, the silage here keeps within limits Oo
The top notes are there on 1-1.5 arm lengths immediately after spraying, but they settle very quickly to below one arm length. During the performance I am torn between the two.

On the one hand, the "wild" fruits soon disappeared in the punch bowl, but on the other hand, this musk + X fragrance remains on the skin and clothes as a skin scent for a very long time. From the quality I would say, you suspect the next morning that there might be something, but then you have to put your nose on your arm or shirt again to be sure. The musk is soft but dominant still there - but not unpleasant.

So Wild Fruits can be worn quite safely and that all year round because of me. But I would say that spring / summer is more suitable. My wife would not want to wear it, but she finds the scent on me quite ok and "fresh". Not everybody will love the perfume, but hardly anybody will really dislike it. A "People Pleaser" just so.

The bottle is typically 0815, as you know it from Mancera, and the atomizer does a good job as always.

I will certainly use WF more often. But before I buy more, I would like to test Blue Notes, Lime Line and Lemon Mint. So it's rather a nice to have for me and a nice addition to the more "pungent" summer citrus scents

The summer bathroom fragrance
Ok, the title is a bit exaggerated, but the journey definitely goes into this direction.

The flacon is an eye-catcher - at least from a distance. When you hold it in your hand, the stylish Gelfecht looks rather cheap. The bottle also shows small scratches and scrapes. Nothing bad, but more appearance than reality. Nevertheless a nice idea with the net pattern and it shows that a reasonable design can be created at a reasonable price.

What is annoying, though, is the atomizer. It is definitely weak and not fine enough. For comparison with TF products I spray e.g. 2 x breast + 1 x crook of the arm each = 4x. With Artisan Pure I had to spray approx. 8x, because simply too little comes out or the fog does not appear fine enough.

To the fragrance

The top note starts very citric and I can understand the comparison of some reviews with bath and WC products. Also here it should be noted that this is only a similarity/nuance. So it doesn't smell directly like WC cleaner - fortunately :) Despite the intensive citrus, which is synthetic, the scent is pleasantly refreshing. Surely perfect for hot days.

I must confess that I perceive only a fraction of the fragrances indicated. Of the citric ones, it is rather the lemon and some orange and that very concentrated. Afterwards the scent becomes more and more soapy. Again it is a nuance that reminds of soap without one could say that it now smells 1:1 like that. Fresh and clean, almost like on a department store toilet but only almost.

The basic scent consists mainly of this light soap smell. Otherwise I don't really care much about - heart notes, nil to me. In any case you smell fresh for several hours - perfect for warm weather. But also noticeably synthetic. That goes with the price point however okay.

The silage is ok, i.e. a miniradius can be filled but a space filler is not available here. The shelf life is ok for a summer scent. I guess the citrus scent lasted for about 1-2h and then gradually settled. The soap freshness lasts the next 2-3h. So from 4-5h the whole thing was just a skin scent with me. But it lasted for a few more hours, but only very weakly. In hot weather I can imagine that especially with the silage something is still going on. I had tested on warm spring days and the scent didn't get further than it should aka ~arm length ;)

Overall, I would say an OK scent. Value for money is good. From the fragrance point of view one or the other designer could be even more pleasant with a worse performance. As a showcase eye-catcher (at a distance) the bottle is definitely usable. Personally, I wouldn't buy it, because it is too concentrated and too synthetic. It was definitely worth a test and should I get the other artisans between the figner I will certainly stick my nose into it

Linear boredom
It was that time again. The local chain transmitted the bonus points and I was spoilt for choice...

In short, an OK blind purchase in the sale and thanks to bonus points. I personally would definitely not want to pay full price. Why? - Unfortunately, that starts with the sprayer, which is only mediocre.

I would classify it as mediocre: worse than Mancera, but slightly better than John Varvatos. It fulfills its purpose, but I don't feel that it is ideally atomized and a small drop of liquid remains :( The bottle itself is simple, but still elegant enough. I also can't lift it by the cap without it coming off.

About the fragrance itself:

I call it Linear Boring. It doesn't change, it just gets weaker over time. As a summer scent quite passable but otherwise not necessarily a must buy

Shelf life and silage are very manageable. So if you are looking for something unobtrusive, this is the right place. Directly after the application my better half noticed something even from close range. And also in my perception the Riot is rather a lukewarm breeze, which after 2-3h can only be called a skin-scent. After 5-6h it was hard for me to smell anything on my skin. Maybe thats just me...

He stays on his clothes a little longer - and with a lot of goodwill you can still smell a nuance of Neroli the next day - provided you sniff around in the shallows of his polo a few times.

The fragrance is pleasantly unagitated: slightly sweetish and a dominance of orange/neroli with some cedar wood. I do not notice any pepper. All very unagitated and a slight sweetness without being really penetrating. This also applies to the orange, which rather reminds of a mild orange peel than strong citric smells. A pleasant tepid breeze with which most people can probably be satisfied, but also no more. But "Riot" - not by any stretch of the imagination!

I tested on a not too warm spring day and so the hope remains that some performance can be tickled out. It is definitely not a bad smell. But with the performance so far, I don't see any added value against other summer scents - unless you like exactly this unagitated Neroli composition

Tuberose Vanilla Bomb
Some american youtubers had aroused my interest and so I finally could not resist...

In essence, Mancera delivers a tuberose/vanilla fragrance that is definitely suitable for men. The prerequisite is that you like floral, or men can also turn to the feminine unisex side.

However there are two thick exclamation marks:

1. Performance and silage are a hammer. So boys, two sprayers on the chest and in warm weather probably spray even softer and deeper!

2. At least for me, the vanilla finish is a touch too sweet. Here too: test it. Who definitely wears only masculine will certainly not want to buy blind here. Should Mancera get the drydown under control it would be a really great unisex scent

The bottle is nothing special, but has a nice tint and the sprayer gives a good result.

To the scents:

I can't smell any fruit from the top notes. Angelica with a slight background noise - I guess pepper. It's good, but it will soon be over.

Then comes the best part for me: a rose, jasmine and tubersoe mix. Pleasantly soft and fresh. Flowery. At the transition to the base notes you have tuberose and vanilla and much much later a sweet vanilla musk scent. The latter is not quite mine but acceptable. Here it also becomes rather powdery

The freshness of the heart notes is very pleasant. I think I'm standing in the synthetic rose garden :) Unfortunately the transition from heart to base notes is a horror. I really must force myself not to rush into the shower... as if that would have a purpose with Mancera^^ This phase fortunately lasts only a few minutes and reminds me of a powdery atomic mushroom. Then vanilla bliss sets in again. A powdery background noise constantly accompanies the scent but this transitional phase... here Mancera really has to give it another go.

It was my first blind purchase and it's fine. I will certainly test Mancera again since P/L seems to be ok. My better half also likes to sniff when I put on the Velvet Vanilla

Mancera is synthetic and you can smell it. Slightly unbalanced and certainly not comparable with components from a Tom Ford or other niches. But with hammer performance and a little bit cheaper. Currently ~9h on the fragrance, the clock is ticking :) Time jump: Also the next day... still available as Skin Scent and the clothes smell enormously...

Personally, I can imagine wearing the fragrance all year round, except in summer. However, it will not become a signature fragrance and will remain a nice to have addition in the budget range
