Versace goes All Black
I had my first direct encounter with Oud Noir on a shopping tour with my girlfriend. You have to say that we already smelled several scents that day. However, none of them could fully convince her, as she is very picky about men's fragrances. When she made the discovery and presented Versace Oud Noir to me, I suddenly remembered several YT reviews, which always brought this one into play as a cheaper Oud Wood Alternative.

With some scepticism and at the same time anticipation, I applied it directly to my hand and was positively surprised! The opening smells really very mysterious and attractive. Shortly afterwards I was already thinking about what this scent could be a good match for

There are several ways to select fragrances. On the one hand the season or time of day, on the other hand for certain occasions or clothing. Concerning the clothes in particular, I always think of leather jacket, black jeans and boots. Due to the oud, saffron but also cardamom, it has an animalic but also seductive note, which again increases the effect of the clothes and the wearer. From my point of view oud noir fits perfectly to evening activities like bar and restaurant visits but also to similar social occasions in the autumn & winter season.

In order to draw a final comparison to Oud Wood. The Versace is clearly a fragrance for private evening occasions, as it is more seductive. Oud Wood, on the other hand, is fresher and not quite as dark and dirty, which makes it more versatile. In terms of performance, it has a good but not outstanding durability. Here I can only recommend everyone to place an additional 1-2 sprayers on their clothes, which helps the scent and thus increases the effect. I am a bit disappointed about the Sillage, because the projection for such promising scents is rather moderate.

Nevertheless, Oud Noir is my favorite Versace fragrance next to Dylan Blue, which also shows that this house has a good hand when it comes to affordable and good perfumes in the designer segment

The Faded Beauty
There was a time when L'Homme was "The" spring/summer scent!

The spicy top note with ginger paired with the floral notes were magical and appealing. Without a doubt, this scent from back then had potential for the summer Signature. The fragrance I'm reporting about here dates back several years. My last full bottle, I emptied in 2015.

Lapsed by nostalgia, I made another attempt this year. To be on the safe side, I first bought a 40ml bottle. As it should turn out later, it was the right decision!

When the package arrived, directly unpacked the scent. Bottle did not seem to
to have really changed. But the smell does! The opening of the fragrance with the spicy ginger note was no longer so filigree and much more pungent, in the heart note the floral note was different in certain nuances than back then. All in all, it tends to look more spicy and not as balanced to me. The whole thing extends to the base. It has to be said that as a carrier of this fragrance you don't get anything from the drydown for long. The scent has a very weak durability of max. 4 hours and a quasi non-existent Sillage. If you want to be noticed at all, you have to apply at least 5-6 spray strokes. It is best to spray about 3 of them on your clothes.

Now I ask myself, of course, do I remember it better than it really is, or has it been watered down or reformulated here? But I clearly suspect the latter, because the old bottles had a better shelf life and stronger sillage (especially the bottles before 2012).

I would really like to know when something was changed here. Anyway, I do not recognize my old YSL L'Homme. For me definitely not a candidate for purchase anymore!

The ride on the silver horse
Parfums de Marly has some great creations and has so far been able to inspire me more than disappoint. Pegasus is one of the PdM fragrances that I count among my personal Top 5.

But what makes him so unique and interesting?

The scent of Pegasus is quite linear and does not really offer any big surprises. But what you get offered - the omnipresent pleasant-almond & vanilla with the metallic note throughout, are absolutely unique and one of a kind. Just in this point you can feel the origin of the fragrance. Pegasus is also of the quality a genuine niche fragrance, which can leave a big impression when used correctly. There are some fragrances in my collection that I don't wear for compliments, but enjoy at home for me. Pegasus creates both for me! For me it is a fragrance that I spray on from time to time to simply relax and let go. The Sillage is really strong, the durability more than decent!

Used correctly Pegasus can also inspire others around you. In spring on cooler evenings or preferably throughout the autumn - especially on rainy days - it is a faithful companion. Because of its sweetness I would not recommend it at temperatures above 15 degrees Celsius, because then it becomes to be taken. So you will be aware of your surroundings in any case!

Pegasus belongs to the fragrances that can be worn by women. One cannot deny that it has a certain feminine touch. But MFK Baccarat Rouge is also worn by some men ;)

PdM is thus a great fragrance that is coherent in itself and can be worn by both men and women.

Dior's Office fragrance under false flag
One thing first. It cannot be denied that the numerous negative reviews of this fragrance make a 100% objective evaluation difficult. I was also biased, because the language that prevails here but also Youtube, was clear!

A few weeks ago, the time had come. Dior Homme 2020 had to withstand my fine nose. But the most important questions first:

"Is he really as big a disaster as everyone says?" No!

"Is it worse than the original signal?"
Yes! Br/>

"Should I buy it?"
Yes and no!

The purchase decision depends strongly on the intended use. The original Dior Homme was a great iris scent, which was or still is suitable for casual as well as evening use. Because Dior revives it in a new version as Dior Homme Original. The name of the 2020 Dior Homme version, is unfortunately misleading. Instead of choosing a new independent name, the already established scheme is used. Therefore I can more than understand the displeasure of the hardcore fans. Especially buyers who don't deal with fragrances and just blindly buy "Dior Homme" from their friends are literally led behind the light. Incomprehensible Dior!

Dior 2020 as a fragrance is very linear and generic but still knows how to please in its own way. Through my last perfume order I got a sample of the 2020 version and could test it again extensively. After sniffing again, the only sensible use for the fragrance came to my mind is the "office". As has often been criticized, Dior Homme 2020 has too little expressiveness for other occasions. Here numerous other alternatives should be found in the own series.

Emptied the rest of the sample today, by the way. Reason was a job interview incl. full montage - suit, fine shoes and tie.
I have applied the last two big splashes to the pulse points and what can I say, still smell him on me. From the time I applied it to this point in time when I am writing these lines, over 7 hours have passed! That is mMn. anything but average durability, as you can read so often here. Unfortunately I can't say much about the Sillage, but I would need another filling as I have tested it more or less for myself or in the office. But I would describe it as rather average.

From my point of view there are numerous office scents that are recommendable. Dunhill Icon, BdC EDT, Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP, of which I currently own one or the other.
Dior 2020 takes a similar line, it is fresh, woody and also pleasing. If you already own 1 or even 2 of the above fragrances, Dior Homme 2020 offers no real added value. It is practically no useful addition to your own perfume collection.

But if you don't own one of these fragrances, it's definitely worth a look, or rather a nose. For the use in the office you do little wrong with it and it smells really pleasant and won't cause any nasty surprises.
But if you are looking for a versatile fragrance, you should definitely steer clear of Dior Homme 2020.

A shot of Prada Iris for the good mood
I guess it's impossible to avoid Prada L'Homme. This fragrance is to Prada what Dior Sauvage is to Dior Sauvage, and to Chanel BdC, the brand's undisputed flagship!

Through numerous reviews I became aware of this fragrance after release. It was literally praised to the skies and defined as the epitome of office fragrances. After 3 years of intensive use, I can say that it is much more than a pure office fragrance. Prada L'Homme is an extremely versatile fragrance that can be worn parked at any time of the year and on any occasion. Personally, I see it as the ideal companion for spring and summer, both at lunchtime and in the evening. It is therefore very easy to wear, so if you don't know which of the countless fragrances you want to wear today, Prada L'Homme is practically always a good choice. So it has probably for most, a very high signature fragrance potential!

From my previous experience, the fragrance is really well received by others. There has never been a negative reaction, but there has been a lot of positive feedback from both men and women.

"Wow, what are you wearing that smells so clean?"

"You smell so yummy"

"You smell so good"

"Please tell me what that scent is, I need it too"

The reactions, especially from women, were extremely positive, so that on my third date with a nice lady I was told that I should apply the scent from the last meetings again. I think directness is great but I didn't expect something like that!

The performance is absolutely sufficient for me and the occasions to which I wear L'Homme. Of course it can never be too little power, but I find the fragrance very well balanced for a summery scent. The Sillage is also not to be scoffed at warmth/heat. Durability is with approx. 6 hours for an EDT completely ok. It may be that you don't notice the scent anymore, but your environment even more.

Prada has indeed managed to establish the iris as a fragrance with the entire L'Homme line and is thus appealing to an even broader clientele - probably also on the sales side - than Dior has been able to do so far with the Homme line.

I am already looking forward to opening my newly arrived 100 ML bottle in the coming days. To the next years!
