The name is deceiving... so half
On the last shopping trip (currently of course online) this sweetie has landed as a blind purchase in my shopping cart. What can I say, I'm also so someone who buys at the checkout still the cleverly placed overpriced mini packs Süßkrams.
Overpriced Tobacco & Tonka Bean is at currently 21 € for 75ml but certainly not, but sweet he is already.
The bottle is very high quality for the price. The lid closes with a firm click, so the bottle can also be lifted by the lid. The bottle sits firmly in a velvety bed in the packaging, the bottle is pulled from the side of the overpack. That can already really what.
The color purple of the bottle also fits the fragrance somewhere: warm and inviting. I smell only very minimal tobacco, but really only rudimentary. The title fits only so half. For me, this scent is tonka bean throughout with a sweet underpinning, probably coconut at first, then vanilla after about 15 minutes. After that, the scent changes only marginally.
The durability and sillage are solid, but that also depends on when you want to wear the fragrance. After seven to eight hours, he is still discreetly skin perceptible, in the first hour he also radiates quite well. For parties too weak, even a whole nine hours workday he keeps possibly not perceptible through, but at the price you can also like to re-spray.
Overall, T&B is a fragrance without corners and edges, like a fluffy fluffy blanket. In autumn and winter, perhaps also in fresh summer nights I can imagine him well. Intended rather as a date fragrance, which fits by its cuddly pleasing aura certainly. I find it subtle, clean, neat smelling, with three sprays I would wear this at work. Pleases me in summary, especially for the price, very good.
Should you stand next time like me at the cash register with the sweets: grab here quietly :)!

Never change a winning team
Prada L'Homme has also made a name for itself outside the world of perfume enthusiasts and sells herself decently. The reaction of the marketing department was foreseeable and so one flanker after the other was conjured out of the hat. L'Eau, Intense, just this Absolu and Watersplash.

The bottle resembles the Intense in shape and colour, but is decorated with a pattern on the back. I personally think it's nice.
The color allows assumptions about kinship and indeed Absolu resembles the Intense very much. If the normal L'Homme was too feminine for some men, the Intense was a darker, more "masculine" variant. In Absolu, a thick portion of cardamom is added to the Intense. I'm being completely honest with you: I'm a sucker for Kardamom, one of my absolute favorite scents. It really gets out of here and accompanies the fragrance throughout its entire course. Of course, that means he's cuter. However, it starts with a nice freshness that lasts about 15 minutes. Apart from that, it was also that with the differences to the Intense. Projection and Sillage are really good, as is the durability. For two to three hours the fragrance radiates at arm's length, the durability is about nine to ten hours, so really very good. You can certainly wear it at work, but because of the sillage and performance, I see it more in the evening hours. Generally I would wear his fresher brothers in warmer weather and during the day.
Do you need the Absolu if you have the Intense? From me a clear Yein :P. If you're not totally into cardamom, the Intense is a good choice. With a friend, for example, the Absolu does not last so long by far, I am really blessed with my skin

More than a masculine Baccarat Rouge 540
So, Parfums de Marly, Sedley used to be nothing at all, right? Various Facebook groups have speculated that Kalan was so quickly replenished due to Sedley's lack of success.
But I'm not a resentful person, you don't lose my favor so quickly and so I jumped at this release. I have now worn Kalan for two days and try to give you an idea of my impression.

Flacon 10/10
The bottle itself is of course well-known and does not differ from the other men's and unisex scents from PdM.
The dark red bottle is really beautiful and looks super noble. I like personally very much and fits also somehow to the fragrance.

Fragrance 8/10
Spray on and...wait, I know you, don't I? Baccarat Rouge 540 from MFK in spicy and stronger. No, it doesn't do him justice. Kalan's not even close to being a clone. I can't tell which notes trigger this association, but it's there.
Kalan starts with a really strong peppery orange. This fragrance is really complex, in the process I can actually perceive most of the notes of the fragrance pyramid. Spicy, woody, slightly sweet and long this pepper. So after one hour I smell Amber, which may be because I don't like Amber :P...
I don't like to divide into gender and gender. If I have to, I'd rather see BR540 on a woman. Kalan is for me a scent for androgynous women or men.

Shelf life 10/10
On both days, I washed Kalan off after eight-nine hours. On the first day I even did some sport for it, around the six-hour mark. I could still perceive the scent well until I washed the dishes.

Projection/Sillage 8/10
Projection and Sillage are already neat, but not intrusive. I might not be Kalan at work, but I wouldn't be Kalan at parties either. Projection and Sillage are somewhere between these two situations.

Conclusion
Mine isn't Kalan, but it's really complex, and I respect that. Unfortunately nobody from my environment likes him :P. He's certainly not a crowdpleaser like Layton, but that's more often the case with niche fragrances

Why are you leaving already?
Parfums de Marly is known above all for its powerful humming, I love almost all of them. But I was also convinced by the fresher Percival. With two sprayers he already has nuclear performance with me, so I actually banned him from the work. So I took the trouble and bought Sedley abroad.

Flacon 9/10
Unlike the other fragrances in the house, the bottle is transparent. The bottle is of the usual quality, the cap is very heavy and holds so well that it won't come off if you pull up the scent on it.
PdM has really added to the sprayer, it's madness. Very good quantity, top distribution. There is a minimal amount of perfume running down the sprayer if you spray more frequently. If one should not make with other PdMs, here inevitably...

Fragrance 8/10
Sedley starts very fresh and pleasing, I perceive mint only minimally. After 20 minutes the base note is added, which is really pleasant if you like fresh fragrances. According to my allergy-infested nose, that was also the development, Sedley simply flattens out and disappears as fast as it came out of the sprayer. Base note, where did you bite? In general Sedley is very transparent.

b] Shelf life 4/10
The durability of Sedley has nothing in common with other PdM creations. Since this is a fresh fragrance, you don't expect 10+ hours like with a Herod, but that's almost cheeky for a niche fragrance. After two hours Sedley is only very close to smell, my olfactory disadvantaged woman smells there already nothing more. After four hours it is no longer perceptible.

b] Projection/Sillage 4/10
Where other fragrances by PdM feel even the 4th dimension overcome and project through space and time, Sedley remains unimpressed and sits very close to the body right from the start. A "scent trail" might be left behind for the first five minutes (estimated value, nobody walked behind for minutes :P). Logically, this doesn't get any better over time.

Conclusion
Sedley is for me a summer scent, if at all, for work, sport or maybe just for shopping, he doesn't have more breath than that. But I know much cheaper alternatives, which will make your thing even better. Overall, this new release from PdM is rather disappointing. Shelf life and sillage are so low and the fragrance DNA is also not unique enough that a purchase at niche prices would be worthwhile.
