Better than expected
Pretty brave of my wife to gift me a fragrance that neither she nor I knew and my collection has already grown quite large. I have made many perfume purchases this year, mostly inspired by reviews here on the forum. Unfortunately, I've been disappointed many times and I vowed not to make any more blind purchases in the near future.
And there was actually this Gucci under the tree. I had zero expectations for this fragrance, knowing that Gucci is pretty much not recommended by anyone. I was pleasantly surprised. Right after spraying it on, I knew I liked it. A fresh and masculine scent. Immediately reminded me of Aqua di Gio Profumo. I kept smelling it on my wrist all evening. A sign that I like a fragrance.
But the nicest thing is that I had no great expectation and was really positively surprised. Often in the past it was exactly the other way around. Huge expectations, always fueled by "Gehype". Fragrance bought and then thought "okaaay, so that's him!?"
Conclusion: I am very pleased with this Gucci and glad to have been positively surprised once again.
Merry Christmas

Here the oud is annoying
As an absolute fan of the Gucci Pour Homme - DNA I have owned and loved the Comme des Garcons Man2.
Due to the many comments on the net that the Bentley is even closer to the original I finally tested it. 28 Euro for 100ml, a joke!

Sprayed in the morning.
First impression: "Yep, absolutely right".
Gucci Pour Homme in a different "disguise".
But wait! There's something in there that I can't sooo remember and that bothers me. That's - Oud!
Was that in the "original" too?
Never mind. If it was in there then, it didn't bother me anyway.
And I don't mind oud. But I do mind the Bentley

After a few hours there is hardly anything left of the others to smell. But the oud remains persistent and is really annoying now!

Honestly, I was glad when I was back home after work and could take a shower.
Now I don't know what to do with that still full bottle?
Throw it away right away or keep it in the cupboard until the next day?

Conclusion: for me "Comme des Garcons Man2" is and remains the best alternative to Gucci Pour Homme. Period!

The best PDM?
Yesterday, my wife, my best friend and his wife and I were in a perfumery that also carries niche fragrances. We went to the PDM shelf and tested some fragrances. Among them were Layton, Kalan, Herod, Percival and Pegasus. While I liked all of them quite well, it was immediately clear to the 3 others that Pegasus is without a doubt the best, because it's the strongest character. I was able to confirm that as well. So my boyfriend and I each bought a big bottle. The saleswoman was pleased. Just 420 Euro flushed into the cash register!
But what does it smell like? Honestly, I don't know. It's hard for me to describe other PDM scents. I only notice when I don't like a scent that much, like cinnamon. And if I remember correctly, Layton and Kalan smell a bit like cinnamon. But I could be wrong.
Anyway, Pegasus to me is a nice, round, feel-good smell.

P. S. If the question arises why I didn't test Layton Exclusif or Carlisle? I bought them a few days ago here in the Souk and I don't like either of them at all!

Later entry into the LeMale world
Although I have known Le Male since the early days, this is the first one I bought. The original was too sweet, too powdery, too unmanly for me then. Since then I always gave LeMale a wide berth and therefore I don't know all those flankers. Until yesterday. Yesterday I, or rather my wife, got hold of the latest flanker. It was beautifully placed by Douglas at the entrance. She tested it and said "Wow, that's a good one. Smell it." Without great expectations I smelled and - sensation- I liked it!
I said to her "let's compare this one to UltraMale. He's getting pretty hyped too." So, one sprayer on each arm and leave the store. During the next 15 minutes we compared them again and again and the first impression was confirmed again and again. We liked LePerfum better.
Both are very similar. But at UltraMale, there was one scent that stood out that we didn't like. It's supposed to smell like a pear. But I couldn't confirm that.

I find LePerfum to be a very balanced LeMale. In itself very round. Nothing stands out. Of course it is sweet, of course it is powdery, of course it is not exactly masculine. It is still the typical LeMale. But he doesn't get on my and my environment's nerves within a short time
I am satisfied

Pina colada
I bought a test box of the replica series and one in advance, luckily only the test box. Because not one of them convinced me.

To Jazz Club:
i smell pina colada, not a jazz club. And just like with the drink, I feel the scent. The first sip is still delicious but every further sip is a step towards nausea
