Almond flake to float away
During a walk through Hamburg's city center 2 weeks ago I (surprise) found myself in a perfumery. Actually, I just wanted to have a look.
After sniffing some of the fragrances and finding them uninteresting, I was about to go outside again, when my eyes fell on the Prada "Les Infusion" collection. The colourful and at the same time rather minimalistically designed square glass flacons stood neatly lined up on a shelf and attracted my attention.
In the past I have already made acquaintance with the "Infusion d'Iris" and since I was not really impressed by it, my expectations of the other fragrances in this series were not particularly high. And then came "Infusion d'Amande".
Wow. The fine perfume mist had barely reached the paper strip and I was already sinking into a dream of fine almond biscuits and macarons. This fragrance is so delicate and soft and surrounds you like a transparent, fluffy cloud. Apart from the strong almond note, I can hear some spice somewhere in the background, probably thanks to the star anise. However, the almond remains very present throughout the fragrance.
This perfume is not for big appearances, but this does not detract from its beauty. "Infusion d'Amande" is a fragrance very close to the body and therefore does not have a room-filling presence. Sprayed onto the neck or the collar of a sweater, I notice its delicate scent from time to time during the day. The durability of the fragrance is nevertheless remarkable - applied yesterday morning, it is still noticeable (albeit slightly) on the collar of the sweater in the evening of the next day.
An extraordinary fragrance, which was allowed to move directly into my small collection and about whose acquaintance I am very happy. :)

Sun in a bottle
Actually, I have decided not to write a commentary on the Alien Essence Absolue, because I always thought that I could hardly do justice to it with words, but here I am.
Since I saw it for the first time a few years ago on the shelf of a famous perfume shop, it has become THE fragrance for me and to this day I have not found anything that even comes close to it.
I already knew the "standard alien" at that time and even though I liked it, it didn't completely knock me out. But when I sprayed Alien Essence Absolue on my wrist for the first time, it was all over me - it flashed me absolutely. I could hardly take my nose off my wrist. The full blossom of jasmine, which combines perfectly with the beautiful vanilla. Nothing disturbs me here, no scent makes itself felt in an unpleasant way during the fragrance process. It is floral and at the same time very warming. I felt the fragrance almost magical - as if Mugler had succeeded in capturing the sun in a bottle.
As winter approaches and the days get shorter and shorter, Alien Essence Absolue is the perfume of my choice. It accompanies me through the cold, dark months and gives me a touch of joy and energy every time

Butter by the fishes!
What I haven't read all about this fragrance. It should smell of blood, metal buckets and some other unappetizing things that I do not want to go into here.
The first time I really noticed Womanity was a few years ago, when I started to look more deeply into Mugler's creations. It stood on the shelf with the other, more common Mugler fragrances and therefore caught my eye. The fact that I had never heard of him before surprised me and so I tried him out directly by spraying him on a test strip. At this point I have to admit that I did not understand him at all at first & since he did not open up to me at all, I did not pay any more attention to him.
You can guess what it all comes down to - I stumbled upon perfume again years later, and because the reviews were so controversial, it had regained my attention. So I decided to test it again - which happened a few days later. Not without some concern, I walked into a perfumery that I knew still had Womanity in stock. I fished the scent out of the bottom shelf and applied it to a test strip. He smelled...interesting, but still wasn't really accessible to me. Not heavy, not floral, not overloaded with that typical sweetness found in many popular women's fragrances today. He was just totally different from what I usually knew and liked. And yet I couldn't get him out of my head - so I decided to do another test, this time on the skin.
At first he is sweet, but not as one is used to. It's a sweetness that can't really be categorized without being unpleasant. This sweetness is joined some time later by a certain freshness - it is probably the note that is perceived by many as metallic and is therefore associated with blood, fish, metal and other things. When the scent gets quieter during the day, exactly this fresh scent with a trace of woodiness remains on my skin, which I find extremely pleasant.
The durability is remarkable - applied in the morning, Womanity rises in my nose again and again during the day, sometimes louder, sometimes quieter.
But what I never and never will smell here is fish. And as someone who has lived by the sea all his life, I presume to be able to tell fairly well whether something smells of fish or not. The mention of caviar in the fragrance pyramid probably plays tricks on some perfumes ;).
An extraordinary fragrance, which I have already acquired and which I can hardly wait to take out in summer. In my opinion, this would probably be the best season for him

Nostalgia
Ah, the good old Yves Rocher fragrances from the Les Plaisirs Nature series. I almost forgot about her - but then I started being more active at Parfumo again and here I am.
Noix de Coco was my first fragrance ever, so to speak. At that time I was 15 and bought just about everything that even smelled of coconut. But Noix de Coco didn't just smell of coconut, it was a real coconut bomb - but still in a very pleasant way (at least according to my feeling at that time).
And so it was part of my morning ritual before school started, to spray myself from head to toe with my favourite Noix de Coco and then to have this wonderful coconut cloud around me all day long. But I was never aware of its dimension until I had a conversation with some of my classmates during the break about scents and someone in the group said "Your presence at school is actually always very easy to detect - when I enter the classroom in the morning and notice that it smells like coconut, I know immediately that Nacho is there. No matter whether you are present in the room or not". This was then of course also affirmed by all those present. So you can conclude that this is a good sillage in any case ;)
After I used up this rather big bottle of Noix de Coco, my desire for coconut was satisfied and so I did not buy the scent again. I mean, I haven't set foot in an Yves Rocher store since. And yet I became somehow nostalgic by writing this commentary and suddenly find it a great pity that the fragrance no longer exists. I would have loved to take another sniff :)

Sister from another Mister
Currently I am looking for a replacement for my beloved Alien Essense Absolue, which is supposed to be taken out of the assortment. During my search, I came across a YouTube video claiming that Classique Essence de Parfum was THE fragrance twin of Alien Essence Absolue. And so I went straight to the nearest perfumery to get an impression of it myself.
The first spray on... oh yes, yes, this could really be something. I don't have to worry anymore, the perfect replacement has been found. Who would have thought it would be so easy to...wait...what is THAT?
Suddenly I smelled soap (which I attribute to ginger). And that smell intensified with each passing second. I've wished so badly for both of us to fit. Countless times that night I held my wrist to my nose. And lo and behold, the soap soon evaporated. And when I thought that I had left the worst behind me, an almost unbearable, overwhelming sweetness took her place - as I had already noticed her in "Knot" by Bottega Veneta. After 3 hours I declared the experiment finished by coming home and washing my hands properly.
This is the twin sister of my beloved alien? In any case, the family relationships must be examined more closely.
