A classic
There are a few classics in this wonderful world. Because of their special characteristics they not only stand out, they have an extremely high recognition value and they are inimitable. Almost everyone knows these special features and therefore recognizes them immediately.
What are you thinking about at this moment when you read these words? Nutella, Coca Cola, milk cut, Michael Jackson, white Nike Air Force One or Maggi?
Then you'll be like me
For me, Kenzo pour Homme is one of the classics of the perfume world. First smelled as a teenager in the 1990s, I immediately fell in love with this powerful, sweet, masculine fragrance that can't really be compared to anything else. At that time it was a real men's fragrance for me, for the stylish man of the world and with taste.
Well, today I'm about that age and the world and the taste has worked out pretty well. And what hasn't changed in the last 20 years is my love for this fragrance
I have to admit that I have not yet found the right occasion to wear Kenzo pour homme. Sometime in autumn or winter, that much is certain for me. But the fragrance always has a firm place on my shelf. On the perfume shelf, of course, because on the other shelves are the other classics.

Like an altar boy body lotion
The smell is really terrible. And also penetrating and extremely persistent. I'm afraid there's no other way to put it. I smell biting incense and I can say with a clear conscience that this is absolutely not my taste. But the tastes are different and surely there is someone who likes the scent.

A good fragrance for the golden autumn
And I'm not talking about those abnormally hot days this week

I first wore the fragrance in midsummer on a very warm day. That didn't really fit, the top note was more like a headbutt, and such associations accompany me the whole day or about three hours, because by then the scent was actually already gone. Fortunately, as I thought to myself.
Somehow the scent was too feminine for me, too. Suited for a neat Southern lady. But not for me

But I wanted to give the fragrance a second chance and wore it on a warm autumn day. It was perhaps 16-20°, so rather cool. But sunny. In short, my favourite weather.
Firm but light clothing. Fresh air and still sunshine, simply wonderful.
And lo and behold, Fico di Amalfi has also found the right surround for me. In this constellation the scent was perfect and underlined the impressions of nature very nicely.

Nevertheless, I will not buy the fragrance, because in the end I was missing that certain something

An awesome part!
Sorry for the clumsiness, but I can't say otherwise. The scent is present, special, fresh, sweet, sparkling, loud and roomy. You get run over by a smell locomotive when you smell it
Somehow, during the research I already guessed that I might like the scent, but I didn't expect that. Basically, it was the wow moment you always hope for when you try new fragrances. But this happens very rarely, maybe with one in 50 fragrances. The last time I had the experience was at L'Humaniste by Frapin (also a mad part).
Like lucky Davidoff, I also loved Adventure Eau Fraîche, but I see similarities more in La nuit de l'homme or even YOU Intense. Ginger Love is, so to speak, the spicy-fresh version of YOU. Less sweet and soft, but similarly pointed and dominant. You have to like that.
I love it
So sooner or later I will definitely get it. Until then, I will enjoy the bottling, which I thankfully received from the proud Oskar.

A 15th century Scottish landlord...
...after a glorious, bloody battle in the circle of other counts and princes at a festive supper, surrounded by wine filled goblets, bowls of fresh fruit, tons of poultry and roast meat, sweet potatoes, dances, minnesongs and...
Suddenly I'm awake again

After the top note has passed and I wake up again, I experience a pleasant, contemporary and above all masculine scent, which on a hot summer day like today gives the hot summer air a pleasant freshness.

After several coolings in the cold water I put on my shirt to buy a cold drink at the kiosk. Still a pleasant freshness surrounds me, this time it is the base note. Far milder and more mainstream than the chivalrous top note at the beginning.

The evening ends and so does my test drive with Century. Just at the beginning of the smell journey the name is program. The smell catapults me into another era. A century in which I am not at home. And also I have not seen enough medieval series to really like it.
The heart and base notes, on the other hand, are pleasant to smell and do not demand much.
So I'd give the scent a 7.5. The opening is special, but unfortunately this one is not for me. But I'm not one of those Sauvage disciples or Santiano fans who might like it. A few drops of Old Spice after shaving are enough to make me feel like a real man 40+.
So for me, the scent isn't really something. But I can understand what others like about it.

Thanks to the proud Oskar for the fast bottling.
