Changed scent pyramid?
The fragrance has apparently been completely reformulated. On the current website of Jil Sander is mentioned as a fragrance pyramid: Head: mandarin, raspberry, bergamot; heart: jasmine, orange blossom; base: (not specified). Since the flowing text speaks of an "oriental scent composition of vanilla and a fruity note", the base will probably contain vanilla. It doesn't say anything about nettles, milk or grain. - I still have a miniature with the original scent and have made a comparative trial. "My" earlier version has a somehow "medical", very slightly sharp note (I always have to think about dentist :_) ...), which balances the sweetness and makes the scent individual. The current version only smells pleasantly vanilla-sweet; I would never buy it. Too bad about the scent!!!! I will be extremely economical with my miniature!

I don't get it
Well, I really don't understand that smell. I have tried it again and again for years (because unfortunately I still have a well-filled bottle here). Apple, mandarin, rose, freesia, peach - that sounds really good! Where's all that? From start to finish and from front to back I smell only a smoky, somehow sweetened men's shower gel. No fresh notes, nothing fruity, nothing, instead a pompous shelf life. In the morning at eight a mini sprayer in the neck, and I still smell it in the evening at seven around my head. Even after the shower, he's not gone. The shelf life is, so to speak, one of a kind, or: It sticks to me like poison. Refrain: I don't understand it. It cannot be cedar and sandalwood; this is also contained in other fragrances, which I like very much. Where does the smoky, sticky men's shower gel sweet come from? Chorus: ... Anyway, he's coming down to the basement for now. There's probably a pot-bellied men's cigar hidden in there.

Direct hits
After my Shalimar EdP trauma (see comment there) and a few days of breather, I ventured into Shalimar Cologne today. You want to know, don't you? And - yeah! That's what it is! Unsweet, soft, soft vanilla with a little bit of musk. With me no bergamot, no lemon, no grapefruit (I would have liked everything very much, but well). I obviously skipped the heart note too. The scent then remains unchanged for hours (now there are about three) and only becomes weaker. I like the decency; I'm sure it's nothing for people who want to stand out. And you can also find it boring - I don't feel that way in this case. I feel the scent as close to my body (maybe I have applied too little?) and mild. Just right for me; I've got something to look forward to. He would irritate me with men; I find him very feminine. - What else? I'm about to bite my wrist.

Shock
The other day I really wanted to test Shalimar. A lady at the ATM smelled so good, and on questioning (courage point for me) it turned out to be Shalimar (unfortunately she didn't say which ...). So I'm completely unbiased in the department store and Shalimar EdP applied. I shouldn't have done that. My wrist escaped a painful... well ...smell like in a Christmas room that has been unventilated since noon, when in the evening all the real candles on the Christmas tree are blown out at the same time. Tongue tingling with me. The fragrance remains unchanged for hours. Is that how you do it? After the evening washing up attempt I had to sleep at night still with outstretched arm ... I could not perceive a course of smell altogether.

Clear scent progression
Yesterday I bought 10 ml of cherry blossom because the box looked so soft and bright and just so inviting :-). So nothing with testing and stuff. Well. Apply immediately and actually start off with the promised delicate flower freshness. Whoa! That never happens to me before. But that was unfortunately the best thing about the whole fragrance. Quite quickly it became a bit pungent, flowery and soapy, and I had to keep my nose at a distance. How can you look so pink and then be so mean? - But after about an hour it was over, and a (again) soft-woody tone came to light. I liked him now quite much; if only he would have been a little clearer ... Then what? It was over. I wasn't mad either. - Definitely not for men, I'd say. And not for young women. And don't get your nose too close.
