The aura
Tried Molecule 02 and was disappointed at first because I can't smell anything. This fragrance I smell some days and other days I smell only the alcohol in which this substance is dissolved. On the days I do notice it it smells pleasantly warm, woody, fresh and slightly aquatic. Hard to describe but very pleasant and at the same time discreet. He wraps the wearer as in a kind of aura and is great for layering (combine) with other perfumes. Price is I find a bit high, but have to buy it because of its versatility. :-)

The gentler twin, "The tamed blue beast from the Middle East."
Interlude Man Black Iris... What a fitting name. Quite clearly, this mystical-looking bottle carries the Interlude DNA. The progression is similarly contrasting with sweet, strong incense and oud from start to finish. The iris makes it a bit softer here, rounding out the extremely spicy edges of the original a bit in favor of the velvety soft vanilla note that is more noticeable towards the end. High quality and perfectly balanced, a real Amouage. Be sure to sample and give it a full day to let the beauty and complexity of this masterpiece take effect. If you have Interlude Man, you don't need this flanker, but all in all I recommend it for all those who are looking for something very extravagant and strong. Chapeau!

The holy blue beast from the Middle East.
My story about this fragrance begins in the summer of last year. Who is too much text, scroll down to the paragraph :-)
I had at that time a trip to Crete behind me and had a small bottling of another Amouage fragrance with me on vacation. In the scorching heat - so my thought - the oriental ingredients of this house certainly unfold splendidly, in fact: I fell in love with the extraordinary DNA of Amouage and wore this other fragrance (Journey Man) so daily. So when I read various sites (I didn't have a full bottle of Amouage at the time) about what fragrances Journey Man contained and what exactly I was smelling here, "Interlude Man" was suggested to me. The beautiful deep blue/gold classy bottle was love at first sight, but the polarized reviews initially put me off. Everything I could read confused me more than I could imagine anything behind the "Blue Beast from the Middle East". So I ordered a sample from the electronic bay. I was so curious and euphoric that I watched video after video on YouTube to know in advance what could possibly be behind these mysterious-looking ingredients - Saturday morning the doorbell rang: the sample was there. I opened the golden lid of the small tube and was confused at first - what do I smell here?! "It smells kind of sad and I don't think it's really mine..." was my first thought. I didn't understand the scent at first and wasn't aware of its power in the slightest... the bottle... I must have this beautiful bottle! I kept thinking to myself... and so at the end of August, when the first cool days were setting in, I "blindly" ordered a full bottle when I found it reduced. Again the waiting began and 2 weeks went by, during which I smelled the little atomizer over and over again - but didn't dare to spray it on. Paradox - I know. And again the doorbell rang and I held my first Amouage bottle in my hand. I was overwhelmed by the packaging and the beauty of the bottle, so it didn't even bother me whether I would wear it or not. September came and I sprayed Interlude Man on for the first time - a single spray. No more. Again that herbaceous note that I took to be "sad", then a blast of resins, smoke, tart woody notes and yet a balsamic smoothness with a sweet bergamot. I still didn't understand the scent, but realized it was many times stronger than anything I'd known up to that point. In the afternoon, still rocking back and forth, I could perceive a veritable cloud of fragrance, growing sweeter and more pleasant.

Back to the scent:

My first impression was completely revised - this is an incredibly full, rich (in choice ingredients) and beautiful fragrance. It is very unique and polarizing - you either love it or hate it. I for one loved this scent more and more the more I wore it and couldn't get enough of that "sacred" aura - the incense and precious resins had me spellbound like a genie out of a bottle. Depending on the temperature outside, I keep smelling small, subtle differences in the scent on my skin. Also, the statement that this is a winter fragrance, I can not share (more). Except for sports, this fragrance always goes, as long as you dare to wear it with pride and joy. The dose makes the poison :-)

Together with Jubilation XXV, Journey Man and Reflection Man my absolute favorite fragrance - but certainly the most unique and mystical seeming - you read it out, I'm in love with "The Blue Beast from the Middle East" and recommend it to anyone who is brave enough to be enchanted by him by wearing it a few times.

Thank you Amouage, for another masterpiece!

Journey - The journey to the precious treasures of the Orient
Journey was my personal ticket to the world of niche fragrances. It all started when I was looking for an alternative to my then 4 designer frags. I asked my followers on a platform for perfume suggestions. Quite a few designers were suggested to me again and just then Amouage Journey Man. The name alone was mysterious, the bottle even more extraordinary. So I read a lot on the World Wide Web and listened to various perfume reviews on YouTube. I was curious, so I started looking at the perfume boutiques I trusted. No one had this fragrance in stock! So I figured this fragrance must be rare - I still didn't want to blindly buy a bottle for that much money (Little Did I know...) so on a business trip to the US that winter, I ordered myself a 5 ml bottling. The first time wearing it was magical - the spices, the woods, the pepper and that sweetness - what a scent! My designer-accustomed nose was totally overwhelmed at first, and the first evening in the hotel room heard a pleasant, long-lasting sweetness on my wrist. I was impressed with this 12 hour longevity and continued to wear it tentatively for the following week as I only had this small bottling. Back in Germany, I started to look intensively into Amouage and a few months later got hold of sample after sample and gradually added several full bottles of Amouage to my collection (suddenly the price didn't seem high anymore - magic!). The presentation, the scent, the durability is really worth its price - majestic, noble, oriental, unique and enchanting - that's what I associate with Journey Man, as with some other perfumes from the house of Amouage - the enthusiasm does not tear off. :-)

Sooner or later, he'll be your friend. He'll get you hooked!
My connection to this fragrance began last year in late summer. So I applied it to the back of my hand at my local boutique and the first thought was, wow. Apple strudel. Ew. Nah you don't want that. So ungratefully washed it off when I got back home and crossed it off my list. Fast forward to 2021: I continued to wear my other perfumes and at one point, while looking for something new, was browsing reviews on YouTube. There it was again. Layton. Layton. LAYTON So I thought to myself, how can this fragrance be so popular? So I purchased a sample, wore it 1x to work on the pulse points on my neck. "Hmm not bad at all, pleasantly fruity sweet in the opening, woody but not tart or overly heavy in the drydown." And there it was: the first compliment on this scent from a work colleague who walked past my desk. So I sprayed Layton again another day on the pulse points and also on my wrist, this time a little more than last time. I couldn't stop smelling my wrist like a dumbass that day! The logical consequence for me, after I had nibbled away the sample within shortest time: The flacon must here! After several times of wearing it, I grew more and more fond of it and every time I want to smell more of it and spray myself with it :-) The positive reviews are not just always hype, but absolutely justified. I'm sure you just have to give this fragrance a chance and time to work its magic: I didn't want to miss it today, even though I didn't like it at first. Good vibes from spray to drydown and on clothes. Chapeau!
