Shut up and take my money!
Green Irish Tweed was one of the first bottlings I got as a perfume newbie.
What I was disappointed that the resemblance to Cool Water was so great. In no time I had sold the bottling again. Case closed!

Now I wanted to put Erolfa aside with a similar defensive posture, but after trying it several times the "disgust" turned into the opposite. Why not give GIT a chance again?

So I ordered a new bottling (which hasn't arrived yet), but out of impatience I went to the turquoise D in Hamburg-Poppenbüttel yesterday and sprayed a touch of GIT on my wrist. My view has changed significantly:
Of course the association with CW is very strong. But after a short time GIT reaches a depth Davidoff could only dream of. I feel it more metallic, herbaceous, angular. In the drydown you can smell the smell of the stable from Creed.

That Green Irish Tweed is not as original as some brothers and sisters may be because of a very successful copy. Nevertheless, here an absolutely straighter, high-quality, to almost all occasions wearable companion is offered, which one can be only hardly over-smell oneself, since it is the classic par excellence.
Sure, Creed has his price. But you don't treat yourself to anything else. Whereby there are at the moment really very good offers on respectable sides.

Just a matter of getting used to...
Now you could say, scents that you have to learn to like first are not the right scents for you.
But with Erolfa I am glad that I have worn it again and again.

When I sprayed it on for the first time, I found it unpleasantly algal-stinking and so not comparable to Millesime Imperial. I sprayed Erolfa over months every now and then and it got better from time to time.

Meanwhile I find Erolfa so ingenious that I intend to buy a bottle. MI I almost feel like too good...

It was the same with the beginning of my interest in Scottish whisky (without "e", because then it would be American or Irish :-) I also learned that). At the beginning I only tasted the simple, sweet, rather less complex drops. In the course of time, I have also tasted more and more the smoky, peaty whiskies that deter many people! They worked their way up somehow.

That's how I feel with perfume, too, because Erolfa is not flat and not one-dimensional, if you get involved with it, you get a complexity and beauty that I rarely smelled before.

I can absolutely understand the rating of 6.8. I would have rated him even worse after the first smell. But if you don't spray it only once on a test strip or on your wrist and slowly fantasize about the scent (several times), then it comes to the smell revelation!

Please do not let the first and slightly smelly algae aroma deter you, the scent needs time and will.

By the way, I'm going through something similar with Viking :-)

Strong freshness, macnhmal even too strong
A few years ago I bought this one in passing at the turquoise D. Dran sniffed it, found it good and took it with me. It was my everyday fragrance for the office, at least in the warm months.
Both refreshing, and somehow exhilarating, I liked to have that on me for quite a while.

But at some point I missed a certain depth in the freshness, sometimes this "high" freshness almost caused headaches in me. At that time I didn't know parfumo.de and the souk yet, so my wife sold it at the flea market for a few Euros. I haven't actually missed him since.
What I remember: The "atomizer" did not atomize, but almost spit out a jet, so that you had to aim quite well in the morning :-)

Love at first inhalation
I only registered here in December of last year. Quite quickly I used the souk to an extreme extent and was looking forward to the expected fragrance mail every day. I have discovered a few great scents (often through the free samples that some perfumes added) and a few scents almost caused disgust in me. But no fragrance has ever appealed to me so much from the first inhalation and I was fascinated by Millesime Imperial. Funnily enough, I received two fragrance letters on that day, one with the ordered 5ml filling, the other with MI as a sample. So double jackpot.

Since I have not yet reached a good level in the description of the individual scents, I cannot add anything to all my prescribers. For me this fragrance is simply noble, unobtrusive, fresh, hygienic and pure.
There is no fragrance that triggers such a positive feeling in me. Even the hardest scent critic, my wife, thinks he's great

A few weeks ago, I bought myself a bottle. I wear MI both at work and when I leave. But I find it less suitable for sports.

I can't say anything negative about the unsatisfactory shelf life of the many criticisms. As I recently mentioned in a commentary, after a hard day after 11 hours I still had a clear perception of the fragrance. So I can't express any criticism here either.

In my opinion, the bottle is a bit too ostentatious, but - just like books - you shouldn't go after the exterior.

The general Creedchen question remains: Is he worth the money? For me, who buys a bottle of luxury, it is worth the money, because I feel a great joy every morning when spraying it on and often simply sniff the bottle when I am in the bathroom, because it inspires me. As it is well known that you don't treat yourself to anything else, the price is ok for me.
I have full understanding for all critics of the expensive smells (beside Creed there are still some, which ask correctly to the cash), if they do not want to make the expenditure, since there are many beautiful smells, which are substantially more affordable.

Who wants to try something noble, clean and special should give Millesime Imperial a chance.

My first
It was 1998. 18-year-old me had just returned from a two-week camping vacation in St-Cyprien, France, and I had never been so tanned in my life. I looked like a blond Spaniard. It was the first day after my return and I strolled with my then 14-year-old sister through the pedestrian zone of my southwestern German hometown.
Actually, my sister wanted to buy herself a perfume in the drugstore Müller and I was planning to rummage through the CD department, which was very well sorted at the time. Somehow I turned but then in the perfume department, although I was looking for nothing in particular.

When I then, after unsystematic sniffing had sprayed the vial Nightflight, I was as spellbound by the scent of freshness and summer, it somehow continued my Mediterranean vacation in my mind, although I was just in a non-air-conditioned drugstore market in the middle of a milletgroßenProvinzstadt.

In order to spend the remaining weeks of the summer vacations (at that time there were still 13 school years), with a feeling of vacation, freshness and a bit of coolness, I had to have this fragrance! And even more so in the evenings in the equally unair-conditioned, summer stuffy discos, long before the smoking ban, I would be the bestriechendste boy / man ... I imagined at least ;-)

That was 1998. Today, 21 years later, living for 12 years in a northern German city of millions and only on a few home visits to the "provincial town" per year, I recently discovered in a kind of cosmetic shoe box of my wife still an opened bottle Nightflight. It is, of course, no longer the original one from 1997, but spraying it in the air, you don't notice much difference from the scent of that time.... but every single impression I felt back then when I discovered the fragrance comes up again. True, it is a wet and cold winter. The last camping vacation is 19 years ago, smoky discos and the visits there also long belong to the past, but a sniff at the bottle and the time travel starts.

I have not sprayed me the fragrance for ages - I had even forgotten that I own him and I was delighted when I found him again. But I've really never sprayed it on since and I probably won't again. Too much he is interwoven with the old times, there he belongs and there he will always remain for me.

For me, he had his time and he was fantastic. But the (fragrance) life has progressed and made room for new discoveries and memories.
