John Varvatos Vintage
An easy one to reach for when you can’t decide what you’re in the mood to wear. This frag will serve you well day or night.
A similar vibe to Drakkar Noir, but toned down overall with less moss and the addition of tobacco in the basenotes. There’s no reason to overthink this one.

Aramis Tuscany per uomo
Aramis Tuscany per uomo EDT (current) -
Awesome masculine fragrance that is perfect for the spring and summer months. Wow, the tart citrus opening perfectly blends into an herbaceous breeze that really embodies a subtle and overall beautiful scent.
Rounded out by a warm masculine dry down and what is not to love! IMO, the comparisons to my beloved Azzaro pour homme have been misguided. Yes they do share some similarities in character, but overall are different compositions entirely.
How anyone can wear the poison that is passed off today as "summer, blue, eau, fresh, aquatic" etc...instead of this is beyond me. I'll happily be traveling back to 1984 with this beauty any time. Once again, viva Aramis!

(Update Nov. 2020) - I was under the impression this was discontinued, but I've seen a lot of bottles turn up lately on line. Prices are between $40 - $75, get one while you can!
Notes: I recently acquired a vintage bottle. Other than a more pungent opening, I could not detect any difference between it and the current version. If you can find a good price, go with either one.

Tom Ford Extreme for Men
For the ridiculous amount of ingredients, TF Extreme is an incredibly rich and well blended frag that somehow pulls it all together. This one easily lasts 8-10 hours as well.
I’m not a fan of iris or violet, but this one has just the right amount of powder in the heart to compliment the sweetness from the fig and richness from the truffle. I can dig it.
Unfortunately discontinued, Extreme for Men is a really brilliant composition of a masculine fragrance that covers all the bases - rich, dark, smooth, boozy sweetness, and leather.

Jovan Sex Appeal for Men
Gents, do you tire of the endless line of unisex flankers that riddle the fragrance landscape today? Are you really looking to smell like a honey donut, a cup of cinnamon coffee or a basket of dried fruits!?
I will admit, many of the higher end unisex frags are very well blended (Tom Ford, Serge Lutens, CDG) and include upgraded ingredients. I love tobacco so Tobacco Vanille is on my shelf.
Although, these days I am feeling more and more the desire to strip away the fluff and get back to basics.

Is there a 2 thumbs up rating? When a "blue aquatic" walks into the room, Safari turns, squints and folds its arms as the bloody varmint skulks back to whilst it came!
Safari is not a "men's fragrance" it is a fragrance for MEN, period. Toss your razor and use the splash bottle, because you are not afraid to over apply this juice.
