The green diamond
Let me start by saying, figbased scents are usually not my cup of tea. They usually get too cloying for me, but this one from the premium house Matiere Premiere is in a league of it´s own.

The quality ingredients are obvious, it´s so smooth and well blended. It´s a milky, rich fig, green and with an undertone of coconut which gives a beautiful fragrance. I´ve seen comparisons with Diptyques Philosykos, but there´s a woody base here which makes the whole fragrance a natural cross between the aformentioned and Santal 33, just much better in my opinion.

On a personal level there´s a relaxing feeling to this one, makes me want to drift away and just be a part of it, so, so, good. Brings promises of a more relaxed and more natural world.

This is such a wonderful fragrance, primairly for the warmer months but really can be used all year round. I am very impressed with Matiere Premieres offerings so far, natural, classy and with a broad selection of fragrances.

Highly recommended stuff.

The smell of seaweed and egg
Tested this one and was immediately put off by the opening, to the point where I was getting sick. There´s something eggish combined with the seaweed which really made me want to scrub it off instantly.

It seems to get good reviews around, so probably just me and my nose that didn´t dance well with this one. Oh well, can´t win them all.

Best of the bunch
Everyone with the slightest interest in perfumes knows Bleu De Chanel, it already has it´s own place among all the classics and will forever stay a classic. Funny thing, I was never a huge fan of the two previous releases, but the depth and the woodiness to this version sealed the deal for me. Simply love it and by far my favorite designer fragrance.

The addition of lavender really makes this one stand out. Combined with the rich, woody base really makes for one hell of a fragrance. And unlike other designers in the same category (I am looking at you Sauvage), this one comes across as a lot more natural. Modest projection, a silent, confident statement.

Beautiful stuff, Chanel.

Great summerscent
This is a really underrated freshie. It reminds me of Nio from Xerjoff, the tea notes is quite prominent combined with it´s green nature, really great and lasting stuff for this sort of scent. It can be found for great deals, around designer prices and for that price it is quite the gem. Will be using this one a lot on the warmer months.

Something to strive for..
I was on the fence trying this one, mostly due to the hype surrounding it. Finally gave in and sampled it in a local store here in Copenhagen. It was not love at first sniff at all, we had to find our compromises and accept each others differences.

After a few wearings I started to understand this wonderful scent better.

It is not loud by any means, in fact it´s more of a silent statement. It leans slightly masculine and is a fragrance for the confident and more mature man, it represent everything I aspire and therefore it has become a somewhat signature scent for me.

It makes me strive towards the man I wish to be, it reminds me that class and style is not being as loud as possible, it is completely it´s own and doesn´t compromise with that.

Stunning fragrance.
