Grapefruit juice at the quay
Having already drawn some parallels between citrus fruits and beaches with my commentary on Bvlgaris Aqva Amara, I also wanted to say a few words about Heeley's Note de Yuzu. At this point thanks to Parfumo, who kindly sent me a sample.

The opening of Note de Yuzu is extremely lively and fruity. The nose is filled with an acidic and very authentic citrus bomb, from which I can extract the strongest grapefruit. Acid, but also slightly bitter, this top note reminds of grapefruit juice and tangerine peels. Unfortunately I don't know the Yuzu fruit itself and therefore I can't estimate how strong you can smell it. Based on her name I assume that she plays a not too small role in this opening
This glass full of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice is then underlined by a heart note reminiscent of the sea. During breakfast on the terrace of the hotel directly at the quay you can feel how the air carries the smell of the sea. On the one hand one smells the salt, of which there is a lot (Mediterranean level), but on the other hand also a lot of algae. The Meeresassoziation therefore paints the image of an urban quay rather than that of a remote sandy beach. This heart note reminds me strongly of another fragrance from Heeley: Sel Marin (which I was also able to test thanks to the same perfume). Only the overall composition of Note de Yuzu is a little softer in its interpretation of a sea scent and concentrates more on the citrus fruits. Also here rather Mediterranean Sea than Baltic Sea.

The Sillage is with this smell rather weak, which does not have to be however necessarily bad. It's an unobtrusive summer scent. I could imagine going back to work after a two-week vacation, longing for the lazy, sunny days that have been replaced by the office's LED lights. At regular intervals you spray a little Note de Yuzu on your skin to eliminate the smell of coffee, printer toner and the Invictus wearing trainee. A stealthy moment that belongs only to yourself, that you don't want to share with the employees. For a few minutes, one is back on the sunny park bench, where after breakfast, one has had a look over the sea and filled up with vitamin D. The sun is shining and the sun is shining. Where you took a deep breath and thought this was the perfect moment.
However it is with Note de Yuzu exactly the same as with the vacation: unfortunately much too fast past! The durability is just as limited as the Sillage and in my opinion would not last for the whole working day. So you better get used to the smell of the workplace. After all, you have to earn your holiday somehow.

And now enough dreaming, back to work!

Replica
When I withdrew money today in the city centre to possibly have change for the private sale of sunglasses, I got the call that the buyer unfortunately could not come after all. Well, on the one hand it was annoying, but on the other hand I could go back to the turquoise and see if they finally have something new again. Unfortunately, I am usually one step ahead of the branches in Austria and could only find the new Annayake at untested (irrelevos).
Now I walk through the shelves because I don't want to go home without fragrance on my wrist. Then I saw Gucci Guilty Absolute and remembered the first time I tested him on a strip of paper: Bah, no, I can't. In the meantime I have also tested other leather scents and expanded my scent horizon, as well as my scent tolerance a little. So let's test 2 right on your wrist.
The beginning is for me as frightening as the first time. You get the full force of Woodleather *registered trademark symbol* in your face and you have to prune for a short time. But since I tested it last time on a paper strip, I let it develop. Gradually something really floral develops, almost herbaceous. He loses the extremely scratchy and massive one bit by bit, but the leather smell is definitely still there.
Where La Yuqawam pour Homme reminds me of a freshly bought leather jacket worn by a girl with raspberry perfume, the Guilty Absolute gives me the leather couch flavor already mentioned several times. However, for me this is not a new couch, it is already properly sat in. Mixed with the aromas of the living room, the regular use of febreze to cover up mummy's occasional smoking, which is never really to get rid of. Guilty Absolute reminds me of the smell of the taxis in Sofia that stew in the sun with leather salon at 40°C and later bring you from traffic jam to traffic jam to your destination.
With all these memories, I'm almost surprised we're talking about Gucci here. Considering how uninteresting the other flankers have been so far. You could almost think that this is a fragrance that Replica would have liked to release.

REPRODUCTION OF FAMILIAR SCENTS AND MOMENTS OF VARYING LOCATIONS AND PERIODS
Originally: Balkan Taxi Drive
Provenance and Period: Sofia, 2007
Fragrance Description: Leather interior and Magic Tree
Style Description: ????

This brings me now to my last point and that is affordability. Since I've been with Parfumo for almost a year now, I can also appreciate fragrances that I personally don't like. I understand what can be clever about it and what others love about it. That's what I see here. It's just a very authentic leather scent. However, I personally could never imagine wearing it. Neither would it suit any of my acquaintances or relatives. Maybe you could wear it on Halloween if you wanted to dress up as Leatherface. Perhaps it would be an advantage for hide-and-seek, since you would be even less noticeable behind the leather couch of the neighboring family. Otherwise I'd probably never wear it.

At this point a brief reminder of all those who might feel trampled on their feet by my commentary: As always, this is my own opinion and everything is subjective. I'm glad he could bring you joy.

St. Nicholas Day on the beach
When I was a child, I always got a small package with surprises for St. Nicholas Day, like probably many others here. Usually a small toy, a little chocolate and lots of tangerines. Although I liked chocolate and toys, I always went for the tangerines first. Whether it was because we lived further south at the time and the tangerines were better or because I just like tangerines I don't know. Fact is: Tangerines always remind me extremely of St. Nicholas Day. Especially when these smell quite fresh and intense.
Bvlgari Aqva Amara was an absolute blind buy for me. I was still somewhat new to Parfumo and also did a lot of research via YouTube and Fragrantica, so I wanted to test everything at once. The scent description and my lack of summer scents at the time made it interesting to me. So when I read that it was going to be discontinued, I ordered it immediately. In the 2-3 days I waited for the package, I regretted it a few times because it was an impulse buy and I might not like the scent.
When it arrived and I applied it, yes, I was happy as a child on.... Santa Claus Day? Exactly, because the tangerine in this fragrance smells so fresh and juicy that I would love to bite into it. Now this wintry association doesn't really fit at all, since this is a summer scent. You notice that too, because besides the tangerine, the "aquatic and mineral" notes make you feel like you're sitting right on the beach yourself. Eating tangerines just.
But quite apart from my affinity for tangerines, I think this fragrance is something very special. Before Aqva Amara I had never had such an authentic fragrance experience. Due to the fact that I also grew up rather in the designer area, I could never smell out a fragrance so clearly and easily as here.
The performance and sillage are perfect for a summer fragrance in my opinion, on the clothes I smell it by the way even two days later. It is not a fragrance that announces the arrival of the wearer over several miles by press release, but bystanders with small flattering breaths to come closer. And so far, I've really only received positive comments.
Given the fact that it has probably been discontinued, I can recommend everyone to consider buying it. I have really fallen in love with this fragrance. One day, when I make a little more money, I'm going to spend January 6 in the southern hemisphere eating tangerines on the beach. I'm sure I'll be thinking of Aqva Amara while doing so.
