“Uncut Gem” - Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle Presents New Fragrance
The French fragrance label launches "Uncut Gem", a new perfume that plays with the traditional signs of masculinity as an "almost clichéd eau de cologne".
Maurice Roucel, a legend of perfumery, an early collaborator with Frédéric Malle and creator of several of the house's iconic fragrances, is the creator of this new fragrance. Malle was fascinated for many years by a fragrance that Roucel had created exclusively for his personal use - uncompromising, bold, technically flawless and imbued with a warm charm.
After five years of persuasion, the perfumer accepted an invitation to develop the fragrance further, which ultimately resulted in "Uncut Gem" - a daring perfume, precisely because of a high concentration of Ambrocenide®, a fragrance substance produced by Symrise.
"The freshness of the natural elements combined with amber and musk convey a sense of modern elegance that gradually transitions into a powerfully masculine dimension. Clear, spicy top notes of bergamot, mandarin, ginger, angelica root and nutmeg give way to inner fire: an accord of leather, vetiver and incense, plenty of amber and musk that vibrate on the skin. A muscular continuation, if you will, of the stormy Musc Ravageur", explains Frédéric Malle.
The result is both direct and enigmatic: a great subtlety gives way to raw sex appeal. The scent of the skin seems deeper and more intense. A men's fragrance that is at once wild and sensitive, classic and new, whose fresh, luxurious first impression turns into a brutal, irresistible sillage.
The perfume is available in a bottle size of 50 ml and 100 ml.
